While we seem to be pulling in other cases and situations and trying to make it apply. Rush was discussing how Gov. Bush has no options in this case, short of breaking the law. Liberals should accept that since it is the same reason given for President Clinton not taking Bin Laden when Clinton had the chance. I do see this as cutting through political lines. When I'm listening to Rush and Hannity and nodding in agreement, it is not a progressive vs. conservative issue. I believe it is only a political issue for the professionals.

Gang to target vigilante border patrol
These guys are embarassing to southern rednecks. To some Mexican-Americans this is similar to the KKK, except these guys can wrap themselves up in the US flag and lots of Americans buy the act. Ask yourself do you want a bunch of guys with Southern Stars and Bars flags riding around in the back of pickups patrollling your neighborhood?

Gang to target vigilante border patrol
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 10:46 AM) What exactly is to "love" about violent criminals targeting our citizens? United States government doesn't appear intent on addressing this issue. We are trading one set of problems for another. I'm certain you wouldn't mind coming home late at night and bumping into Rambo and his rifle determining if you were someone he hated, or ok to pass. A well trained Marine killed an innocent kid, imagine what these vigilantes are capable of? Already they have harrased innocent Mexican-Americans. Pick a street in Chicago, grab a rifle, and detain every Mexican you see and ask them for credentials. Why is it ok in a wilderness area and not in the city? I am certain there are more than a few illegals in Chicago, let's put these guys on patrol.

Gang to target vigilante border patrol
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 10:13 AM) So, these vigilantes have actually caused violent immigrants to cross the border. I love it. I wouldn't say caused it. Here is what can happen when US Marines are patrolling the border, imagine what vigilantes will do. Remember, this is my backyard, an area I take the Scouts, camp, and play. Imagine these vigilantes in the local forest preserve. Linkage here

Interesting article and another attempt to bring politics into this. If you are a political insider, reporter, commentator and always think in red and blue, I guess it is a natural outcome. I think these types of events are influenced on a more cellular level. These issues are deeply personal for many people.

Crucifixtion study
QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 09:04 AM) Not to be picky, but isn't it "Crucifixtion"? "Crucifiction" sounds like another option besides fiction and non-fiction. maybe his freudian slip is showing

Another power to the people moment If Terri had killed twenty people, the governor has the power to spare her life. That court order can be overturned by the governor.

What Has Spring Training Showed You?
Home stretch of spring training and I see a team that can compete in the Central. I was pleased to see some depth in starting pitching. The only spot I look up and see a solid upgrade at is catcher and possibly Crede and Rowland maturing one more year. We took from the outfield and gave to pitching. The concept was good. I also believe we upgraded in Managers since last year.

QUOTE(winodj @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 08:14 AM) Unless he's honoring her wishes. Is his credibility and conduct the central issue here? He's the only one on the planet that she possibly told. It would seem natural that he would be the first. IIRC, this all stems from a moment after they had left a relative in a terminal condition and she made the comment about not wanting to live like that. I've said that when looking at a homeless person, a Cubs fan, and what I meant was I would prefer tyo live like this, not that. Not if I ever become homeless, kill me.

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 12:45 AM) Both stricken patients were severely brain-damaged. Both were incapable of surviving without medical assistance. Both were said to have expressed a desire to be spared from being kept alive by artificial means. And neither of them had a living will. So why is it alright for DeLay to do it and then stand on his soapbox about how we need to err on the side of life? /DeLay playing the Christian right like a cheap fiddle The Schiavo case, there seems to be a cloud of suspicion as to what her wishes really are, complicated by her husband's only contact with her is to have her die. I do believe that every case is different in many ways, yet they all involve ending a human life. Some people place an ultimate value on human life. They do not diminish that "value" based on IQ, personality, physical attributes, sex, or deeds committed.

Extreme Makeover = Extreme $$ owed...
A similar situation occured when you have the $300,000 house and development of $1,000,000 homes happen all around you. You're real and "paper" values go up. Most tax districts base your appraised value on similar houses that have sold in your neighborhood. It isn't an exact science. The whole gift thing is weird anyways. If I spend post tax income on a gift for someone, why should they have to pay tax on it. I would assume that the building materials were expensed as promotional and the appropriate tax advantages taken. I guess this is where we even it up

From my mommy When is @#$% Acceptable? There are only eleven times in history where the "F" word has been considered acceptable for use. They are as follows: 11. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) That's why I made reference to polls & surveys. There are fringe groups within the Roman Catholic faiths just like any where else but by & large I think the statement is accurate. Most who attend Church regularly & attend confession often believe in the Pope being infaliable when it comes to matters of faith & morals. Expressing a right to die is definitely a moral decision. That was my main point. Many people turn to the voice of authority in their faith when it comes to issues of faith & morals. It doesn't matter whether you are Muslim or Catholic. Right to die definitely falls in that category & for these people getting approval from that body makes sense. Getting that approval in writing makes legal sense. I would also caution against calling them fringe groups. Just ask Luther how well fringe groups can prosper.
