Another reason to get pissed off
uhmm are you saying a mistake may have been made?I to have an uncle. Cunning terrorists, first they disguise themselves as pilots, now mild mannered coral reef biologists. But wait, you are hanging out with a known terrorist and now coming to his defense. Hmmmm, what do we really know about FlaSoxxJim?

Sox ink Uribe to multiyear deal
The problem with baseball isn't a guy has one good year and is awarded with a contract like this. The problem with baseball is any player could be making $3 or $4 million. In baseball economics, the Yankees would file this contract under miscellanious expenses. Middle of the pack kind of guy. Flashes of brilliance. Solid citizen for a few years. Stay healthy and it seems like a solid, easy move. Congrats for Uribe

WSCR reports on Clement
Exactly what I was thinking. I think that have that dog and pony show taped and just mail it in. No matter what FA you sign, you over paid. The winner in any auction paid the most and hopefully the projection works out. upnorthsox, excellent post. I notice that in these matters the guys that have been through a Sox build to tear down cycle are a bit more temperate in their views. Great analysis.

WSCR reports on Clement
Maybe not today, but if he can be a $14 mil pitcher in year 3, it's ok. Some of this is always projections. Who do you think will win more games in 2007? RJ or MC?

- I am never flying out of Newark
I clicked the link just to see what site you were visiting this time losing explosives, misplacing bombs, I am so glad we have put so many resources into making flying safer.- I guess it was time for Carlos to move on
Actually a comparison could be made to other MLB players with the same range of AB with bases loaded. One could also look at the overall MLB average with bases loaded and draw some conclusions from that. I imagine FlaSoxxJim has a high dollar stats program that could determine the T value and give all sorts of reasons why, or why not, the stat is meaningful. How much credence someone would put into the analysis is probably directly related to that person's opinion of the player involved.- Has this ever happened to you?

beck If the D-backs want to win now, Everett is a good fit Sox want to win now, Rowand is a better fit You have me confused.- I guess it was time for Carlos to move on
YASNY, I have a small disagreement with you on this. The problem I have with career stats as they do not always reflect the guys current condition. Extreme example Take Shamee pre-"working out" and post "working out" power numbers. Factor in career and it lowers what you could reasonably expect from him. IT also doesn't take into consideration the age of the player. Career stats for a 30 year old may be a better reflection in his next 5 seasons than career stats on a 40 year old. I try and see some trends in the numbers. Know what you are looking at (as you do)and draw reasonable conclusions based on the appropriateness of the stats. Career stats may or may not be a good tool to judge the future performance. It depends on the individual. The previous 2-5 years may be an even better tool. Sometime you need a hammer, sometimes a wrench. Each tool is different, just as each stat is different.- New Randy to Chicago talk
That almost has me excited. I cannot believe all this to try and pass the frickin' Twins :headshake- On Line Shopping

Ignoring the big names that everyone has already heard of I have found this site Newegg.com to be awesome with pricing and shipping. I've spent a bunch of money with them the past couple of weeks and they have been awesome.
