Gammons -God I hope he's wrong!
We would also recieve more mention on ESPN, with their East Coast bias. More nationally televised games, and that could help develop more fans. I think it sucks for our competitiveness, but from a business stand point, I could see JR accepting cheerfully the switch. That would give us the complete sweep from Central to West Coast to Central to East Coast in my lifetime.

Gammons -God I hope he's wrong!
MLB attendance stats (road) Road Attendance Numbers: #1 Yankees 40,503 #2 Cubs 37,100 #3 Red Sox 36,228 Who would want more games with the #1 and #3 biggest draws in baseball. When they could have: #25 Cleveland #27 Detroit #30 Minnesota #31 Kansas City I should add Baltimore is #18, Tampa Bay is #24, and Toronto #26.

Gammons -God I hope he's wrong!
Then how does Baltimore draw all those fans? 2.5 million in 2003; 2.7 in 2002; and 2.5 year to date? Maybe Sox fans are not as loyal? Our stadium isn't as nice? The weather is better in Baltimore?

Lawyer shopping. There better be ambulances when he's in line for 755.

Democrats
Plus if God really was involved Texans would be getting their ass kicked. Did you hear that Kerry voted against hurricane relief and wants to abolish FEMA and the National Weather Service? I hear his is also against locking prisoners up.

Gammons -God I hope he's wrong!
If we cannot beat the Yankees and Red Sox and compete for a World Series, why does anyone go now?

Gammons -God I hope he's wrong!
Here's the question: Would attendance increase or decrease? Series vs. Twins and Tigers or Series vs. the Bo Sox and Yankees?

Crude at new highs, pushing $50/bbl
At $50 a barrel it will pay to uncap some US wells that have been shut down. Some oil is more expensive to get than others. Location, depth, quality all come into play. We'll see what impact, if any, that has. BTW, for those individuals that sold their oil and mineral rights, they usually do not see an increase when crude goes up. Same payments.

He doesn't care if there are 30,000 Yankee fans in the house.

Gammons -God I hope he's wrong!
Why would JR put baseball down a path of a work stoppage when he had the best white sox team in 80 years and the best chance at a World Series? Because he's an idiot.

Gammons -God I hope he's wrong!
Attendance would probably increase with the Yankees and Bo Sox coming to town more often. Hell, we had to get past them to win a WS anyways. It would suck, and probably keep us out of the playoffs for my lifetime.

Carl Everett
Here we go. Save millions on Everett instead of Maggs to fill the hole at SS and 3rd.

Crude at new highs, pushing $50/bbl
There is always a winner in all this, I wonder who the big winners are when crude hits $50. Could it be the oil companies?

Gee, my most popular thread start of the month is SuperSteve's post count. Must be the pennant race.- Computer problem
Troubleshooting anything involves isolating possibilities. Borrow a monitor you know works fine and hook it up to the system. If that monitor works fine, you solved the problem. If it doesn't, check the cable. Again take a known to be good cable and see what happens. Finally you may need to swap out video cards. All this is after you have shut down the system and re-booted. Remember, fixing anything try the known to be good approach. Also, unplug every non essential component including the mouse and speakers, modem, printer, etc while performing the tests. Then readd them one at a time.- Welcome!
I thought that NFL contracts are not guaranteed.- Soxtalk Hall of Fame
Yes, a case certainly could be made. I would also mention FlaSoxxJim, QueenPrawn, Abo, SuperSteve and a few others. When selecting 2 having twenty to choose from didn't seem like a good idea. There was also some discussion on current vs. historical. We tried and balanced keeping it meaningful with only electing two. We could have added twelve, twenty, or even forty and all would be deserving. In the end the decision was mine. I believe everyone on the list is deserving. I also believe I could make another list of ten and they would also be deserving. BTW, post count was not a deciding factor. Quality posts were.- SuperSteve 7K
ETV! Is doing the 101 Best SNL Moments. I was watching landshark as I was reading that thread. Could thing I wasn't watching Queer Eye- SuperSteve 7K

Please visit the contest forum to vote in the SoxTalk Hall of Fame.- SoxTalk Hall of Fame Balloting
Please see the contest board for Hall of Fame balloting information.- Soxtalk Hall of Fame II
The Soxtalk Hall of Fame will be opening soon and the loyal members of this great community will decide the first inductees. Each year, at the end of the Sox season, two members will be added to the Hall of Fame. There will be a special forum, with sections on history, the Soxtalk Annual Awards, and other cool stuff. After carefull consideration and discussion it was decided that the founders of Soxtalk deserved a special area, reserved for them. The first inductees, known as the Founders Club are: Chisoxfn Heads22 Molto Mr. Showtime MurcieOne Some newer and not so new posters may not recognize some of these names, you will after the Hall Opens. I am starting two polls. The votes will be added together to determine the winner. It is the overall total of both polls. Obviously we would prefer you vote for two but have no way of knowing if you decide to place both votes for one candidate. - SuperSteve 7K
