I was in a group that started one every year for about ten years and most were over by week 4 or 5. Once two guys jockeyed until week nine. There are always a couple early season upsets that dump guys. By the middle of the season everyone has every team a bit better dialed in. We had about 20 different pools running. 13-run baseball pool, 13-goal hockey pool, death pool, NCAA pools, Bowl pools, Bears games squares, you name it.

What I was leaning towards with Bo, and I really liked the guy, is whenever he came out you expected Babe Ruth, Superman, and Zeus all in one. Then he'd hit a weak liner.

By the way it's a good idea to scoop and save it incase the cat has problems over the next couple days. A zip lock with a little litter will be fine.

Bo Jackson Not his fault, but his hype was way bigger than his heroics. IMHO overrated is usually someone with great PR skills who creates a bigger than life image, stars in a bunch of commercials, but doesn't have stats to back it up. Anna K comes to mind. Sorry BeGood

This is all Nancy Reagans fault . . . . . . her damn "Just Say No" campaign

Lost in all this, Is anyone else concerned that the plane was diverted? That means someone on the banned list was able to get on the plane and take off. Isn't that a little too late if they are terrorists wishing to crash a plane? If they were not concerned about him crashing the plane, they could have let the flight reach it's destination, then arrest him and send him back.

Peace Train by Cat Stevens Now I've been happy lately, thinking about the good things to come And I believe it could be, something good has begun Oh I've been smiling lately, dreaming about the world as one And I believe it could be, some day it's going to come Cause out on the edge of darkness, there rides a peace train Oh peace train take this country, come take me home again Now I've been smiling lately, thinking about the good things to come And I believe it could be, something good has begun Oh peace train sounding louder Glide on the peace train Come on now peace train Yes, peace train holy roller Everyone jump upon the peace train Come on now peace train Get your bags together, go bring your good friends too Cause it's getting nearer, it soon will be with you Now come and join the living, it's not so far from you And it's getting nearer, soon it will all be true Now I've been crying lately, thinking about the world as it is Why must we go on hating, why can't we live in bliss Cause out on the edge of darkness, there rides a peace train Oh peace train take this country, come take me home again

Trust the system, trust that no single ass clown can sink the republic. Trust that the other party (whichever that is for you) will be held in check by "your" party. This is why I support the media and Judges so much. Without those balances, one single ass clown could sink the republic, or at least make a lasting dent. Again, no matter which side you prefer.

Not yet, but almost everyother financial service that markets to retired people has. And media sales, and security alarm systems, etc. etc. But I did receive a nice email from a Prince in Nigeria . . .

The other comment that was made, and I wanted to find out how true it is, he said, and the Cub guy kindof confirmed that it wasn't until the 50s that the Sox-Cub rivalry thing really took off, until then it was common to be a baseball fan and follow both teams. They really didn't know what started the heated rivalry. Can anyone confirm?

I am getting tons of crap scam offers and such, but so far nothing that looks legit.

I read The Jungle and had a few questions about life in the yards, but he quickly changed the subject back to baseball. My guess is he is Lithuanian or Polish. A couple of things he mentioned Thomas is the best "modern ball" hitter he saw. Relief pitchers destroyed the game DH wasn't that big a deal (go figure) Managers are primadonnas the game is too expensive, America's sport shouldn't cost more than dinner and a movie. Night games are no good. Nightime is family time. Baseball is better on the radio then TV Who cares what drugs a Doctor gives a player. "Hell I couldn't pass a baseball physical, I know these aren't helping me.

Does anyone have any experiences to share with on-line job sites like Monster? I am looking to make a change, and am starting to look at various resources. So far they do not seem to promising. One issue I am facing is I want to switch careers, so I think I will need something more than a searchable resume database.

I wouldn't worry as much about turning 30 as living in PR Kidding Josh, just Kidding. Happy Birthday

Wednesday morning, out of 6 people in the waiting room 3 were Sox fans and one was a Cub fan from North Dakota. I actually didn't want to leave the waiting room. Hanging with old guys. Talking Chicago baseball history.

I did meet the coolest guy last week that filled my White Sox craving. I walked into the waiting room and he was sitting there wearing a Sox cap. I was wearing mine as well so we had a little laugh. He's in his early 90s, use to sell programs for $0.05 at the ballpark and claimed to know most of the players in the 20s and 30s. He has great memories of his Dad telling him stories of the Sox WS win and always thought he too would see a White Sox World Series victory. I wrote down the instructions to come here and post. He uses the internet a little bit when his great-grandchildren come to visit. If my Sox knowledge is correct, he was mixing up some eras, and was decades off with a couple stories, but most of the stories were very cool. I'm not familar with old southside geography, was it possible to walk to games from the old stockyards?

When something works that well for a candidate, you wonder if they planned it. or With friends like this, who needs enemies.
