SS2K4 displays his knowledge of LA to Hawaii navigation. Where the hell are they landing? Keyword = Landing

    Soxtalk?

I thought one of our banned trolls started a flame site. I am sooooo dissappointed.
  3. I really needed to know that.
  4. And changed again. I didn't realize that Cheney served so many presidents all the way back to Nixon.

  6. So what is fair for one side is fair for the other? Just checking and giving you a chance to retract. Or somehow that logic only applies to US-Israel and not Israel-anyone else?
  7. There is no proof he was in Texas, or anywhere else for that matter. They cannot find the records and no one remembers. Which brings up another point. Why do these swift boat vets have such great memories yet no one who served in the guard could remember Bush? Perhaps battle sharpens ones memory.
  8. I believe there can be no objective reporting from either side.

    Grilli...

These kids can play Keep playing the AAA boys and see if any have value.
  10. But it still sounds like a square dance ;-)
  11. BTW, I should have added to my earlier comments about the allure of NASCAR to say it's also the Executive in the $100,000 RV and the interplay of man and machine. Man getting a machine so finely tuned it is like an extension of himself.
  12. You mentioned Kerry was nervous about the effects on veterans, I think most veterans had their minds made up a long time ago. It would take an extraordinary series of events to get them to vote Democratic. YASNY, thank you for proving my point. The swift boat vets are doing the same thing Kerry has done. One of the swift boat vets that has now denied ever being in Cambodia was on the record for stating he was in Cambodia. These guys are tools for others to use in a smear campaign that ultimately will knock down all military honors. It's funny watching both parties react to a unique campaign. A Dem candidate who served and a GOP who used influence to at the min avoid Viet Nam and at worst used it to avoid the National Guard service as well. Shades of Dole - Clinton with each side now getting the chance to play the other guy's cards. Kap has in his sig, they all do it. Don't lose site that each side is now doing what they accused the other of doing during the Clinton races. Dems circa 1992 and 1996 "Viet Nam service didn't matter" now believe it does and vice versa. I think I'm going to be a RINO in this election, but it has nothing to do with what either party did 30+ years ago.
  13. Nuke, I do not believe any Democratic candidate in my generation counted on any veteran votes. The military is very conservative. Even if you go in as a Dem, you'll come out as a GOP.
  14. now now be good :begood
  15. Presidential candidates cannot pick and choose what they run on. Every candidate will have everything brought up. It would be like stating Bush cannot simultaniously criticize Kerry's anti-war remarks then dismiss his service in Nam. The candidates entire life is open for inspection, praise, and criticism. How many veterans just wanted to leave their service behind them, didn't mention it on resumes, didn't tell war stories, prefering to just let it die? They too, are now enjoying the new found enthusiasm for soldiers. There are many who followed Kerry's path, only in relative obscurity. At the end of the day I think what the swift boat guys are doing will be more damaging than Kerry's remarks a couple decades ago. During a time of great respect for the military, the swift boat vets are the most vocal in dismissing honor medals, throwing into light killing anyone not in regulation uniform, killing anyone not running towards them with a rifle, killing any teenager. I remember a gentleman visiting a neighbor who had the Purple Heart license plates. I told my kids that he was a true hero, someone who had been injured defending our country. I told my kids that medal meant something. Now I'm told they handed them out like candy, that men received them for very minor injuries. Thank you swift boat vets. And a Bronze Star! My God these guys should have momuments to them. But sadly, that too has been portraid as some military charade. Thank you swift boat vets. The swift boat vets too cannot have it both ways. They cannot tear down Kerry without tearing down themselves and every other person who has had the privilege to serve our country's military.
  16. I believe the biggest roll of mod is being the Wal*Mart greeter. Make people feel at home and encourage people to stay and post. It is to set the example of what the site should be (the hardest part at times) the worst part of the job IMHO is having to read threads I care little or nothing about to see if someone is abusing another. I think people see being a mod as some kind of validation of their worthiness as a poster. I don't see the two as related at all. In fact the best posters, those guys like Isreal4ever who are passionate about certain topics, would find it difficult and frustrating to mod. If this becomes "work" which some people have tossed out there as in "I worked to make this that" or "All the work I did" they should stop now. This should not be "work". I dislike the term rotating mods, but it is close. I proposed months ago to several of the admins 2 things. 1. 6-month term limits on mods 2. 1-month guest mod periods for people to jump in and fire up a few things. AFAIK both are still under advisement, and I'm feeling bad about going public and maybe giving Jas some more grief. Although it confirms my belief that most of the mods would welcome a limit. And finally let's remember the people who actually PAY to play here and cut them some slack.
  17. Hiding in plain sight using civilian clothes is as old as war. Which is why I cannot understand the Swift Boat Veterans making a big deal about the kid in question wearing PJs. Kids killed out soldiers also and they all didn't wear uniforms. Another area that the swift boat vets against Kerry are hurting the rank and file soldier.
  18. Beastly I remember some advice I read a while back, never be upset at something that cannot be upset for you. This board is a collection of bits and bytes humming along on some undersized server. If you or I were banned the server doesn't care, and we shouldn't care either. This should be on par with a favorite TV show. If it goes off the air, or your cable company no longer subscribe, just change the channel and move on. Figure out what is really important in life, spend your key energy in those pursuits, and do not grieve for something that cannot grieve for you.
  19. Am I detecting a member of Homeland security being sypathetic to an alleged anti-American spy? Careful. I hope no one is surprised by this. I'd be shocked if there wasn't one from almost every major country in the world and vice versa. Of course we wouldn't have any spies in the Israeli government rolleyeyes.gif Now our State Department will express outrage and demand something and there will be some nice speeches and life goes on. (Sidenote to 4E: Don't you wish it was a Palestinian )
  20. Don't you have something to do in PaleHose?? Now get the hell out of my area
  21. CW, As far as messing up one of your posts, I apologized immediatly, publically and privately. Dig up the thread and look. I felt terrible then and now. It was a careless mistake on my part, one I thought you had accepted my appology for. It was not malicious. This bothered me so much I went and researched here's the thread, the post in question is on page three, it even shows my edited date. link I have stated to ChiSoxfn on several occassions that mods and admins should be on a 6-month term limits. Except guys like Kap who have unique technical skills to keep the board running. IMHO volunteers should always be rotated. It isn't fair to the organization to appoint people for life like Supreme Court Justices and it isn't fair to the person to be wedded to a volunteer position. So I will say it publically. I would not mind stepping down as a mod. If the messages are stored somewhere I would pull it up and show you that prior to Queen and Jim being added, I requested to step down. I truely do not see this as a big deal. I have a lot of other things in my life to fill any sort of craving for recognition that being a mod may bring. For what it is worth, I've also suggested a guest mod program so that more people can have the opportinity to be moderators. Perhaps then they will see it is no big deal.
  22. The Old Farmer An old farmer in Kansas had owned a large farm for several years. He had a large pond in the back, fixed up nice; picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some apple and peach trees. The pond was properly shaped and fixed up for swimming when it was built. One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over. He grabbed a five-gallon bucket to bring back some fruit. As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee. As he came closer he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond. He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end of the pond. One of the women shouted to him, "We're not coming out until you leave!" The old man frowned, "I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked." Holding the bucket up he said, "I'm here to feed the alligator." Moral: Old age and cunning will triumph over youth and enthusiasm every time.
