There is not a continous fence between Mexico and the US. I live here and cross the border at least 3-4 times per week. From Brownsville through Big Bend on up to El Paso there is less than a mile of fence and it is used at the bridges to get people to pay the tolls. There is a section of fencing in San Diego. For most of the border there isn't even any signs as it passes through desert country. As a matter of fact, last year we had a tense standoff near El Paso when Mexico Federal Police and US Border Patrol "arrested" each other. Both sides insisted the other was tresspassing.

You may also want to look at their core curriculm requirements and possible line up HS courses to make those easier. You may also look at concurrent enrollment opportunites where you earn HS and College credit. you are correct, no reason to look now

By now I should have been happily into nothing but Psy and a English, but these damn make up general eds are driving me nuts. I still have a couple histories, Bio 2, gym class (I refuse to call it kiniseology) and a computer class to go to complete this programs general ed 45 hour core. Anyone have a good source for cheap textbooks other than off campus bookstores?

Most of the Mexican border has no fence. You are correct, in some of the cities we have fences. However, we do not have gun turrets or automatic weapons. People are free to travel within 20-25 miles of either border without any special permits or restrictions. I worked in Mexico for a couple years and all I needed to do was fill out some paper work for a FM3 (green card). I think a gun turrret on every corner in Chicago would be nice. Chicago is the murder capitol of the US and soldiers with automatic weapons patrolling every street would make everyone feel safer.
