Spring is in the air, or at least that is what they call this semester. I have a screwed up schedule because I was so busy posting here, I forget to pay my tuition before the deadline and they dropped me from a couple courses I wanted. I have: College Algebra Research Methods in Psychology Autobiographical Literature (dead people from 200 years ago) Algebra has been a struggle so far. It has been 20 years since I worried about polynomials, quadratic equations, square roots, and I hope after this semester it will be 40 more. Way back when I took the required course for my program, it doesn't hold up to the standard and I have to retake a math requirement. I had a 26 on the Math portion of the ACT or else I would have had to take a intermediate class that wouldn't have counted for nothing. The other two tie into my Psy Major / English Minor

  3. It was the foreign angle I was wondering about. For example when I was working in Mexico a portion of my income was on a Mexico payroll and the majority was on a US payroll. My Mexico earnings were taxed by Mexico and then taxed in the US. These were all legal transactions. By-the-way I received credit for all payments to Mexico as if they were US. MOst of the time the remaining payments to the US were rather small. Plus Texas has no state income tax. I wonder how you report this Any additional income? $1,000,000 Source of income? Consulting fees How paid? Small bills off the coast of Greece in a large suitcase . . .
  4. I wonder if you have to pay federal taxes on foreign bribes?

  7. So it has to get cold for people to enjoy hockey? That is exactly why the sport is in trouble. The populations is the US has been in flux for decades. People move from state to state all the time. The states in the south have seen a net population increase and the north a decrease. The fans have moved south. Or are you saying hockey is such a s***ty sport that only people in the north can be attracted to it? Hockey is closer to soccor than any otehr sport. Where are your biggest markets for soccor? South. Fans down here instatntly appreaciate a sport that scoring isn't every 30 seconds. Of the close to 100 minor and independent hockey teams in the US, 4 of the top 25 attendance clubs all are within 50 miles of the Texas - Mexico border. Minnesoat couldn't even support a team. Drop every team in the north, eh. Hockey will grow when they have fans border to border instead of some weird regional thing. Hockey needs to attract a bigger audience, not smaller. Hockey will be healthy when television will carry games nationwide like all the other major sports. Sure run a league for the die hard fans. See the Blackhawks in front of 1,500 die hards. How many Hawk fans attend 25 or more games vs how many people attend less than 3 or 4? The casual fan is what drives a sports economy. Add up all the people who make one or two trips a year to a baseball game vs. the die hards and the pile from the casual fan is much greater than the die hards. Die hards come to a game and spend less per game then the family there for their once or twice game. Imagine a league with teams in the Hartfords of the world vs. teams in the Atlantas of the world. Which is going to be more successful?
  8. Could Jose move to 2nd? I heard this morning that the reason the White Sox have not made any other moves is they are waiting for this to go through. And isn't the phrase The Old Gray Mare is Dead?

  17. Somebody is not getting re-elected. I know I would help out the parks and recs if it was my $67 million.
  18. I would spend a moment talking about my experience first week/month/semester and explain why I had volunteered to make these calls. I would make certain that they took down my name and number (maybe not the guys) in case they had any questions down the road. Finally I would follow up around the first day of classes.

Exorcism Suspected After Girl Found Dead By HARRY R. WEBER Associated Press Writer ATLANTA (AP)--A 6-year-old girl was found dead in a motel room with a broken back Monday after what police said may have been an exorcism. Two adults were arrested after they and two children were spotted on the street naked in the freezing cold. The adults, who had been staying in the motel room, were charged with cruelty to children, public indecency and obstruction of police and were taken to a psychiatric ward. Police said the girl had been brutalized and suffered a broken back and other broken bones. An autopsy was planned. Based on what the adults told authorities, investigators believe ``they were involved possibly in a ritual of some sort,'' police spokesman John Quigley said. ``It may have had something to do with undemonizing the child in some manner.'' Police learned of the death around 12:30 a.m. when the unidentified man and woman were seen walking naked down a city street with two children, ages 2 and 7, Quigley said. The 7-year-old provided investigators with information that led them to the motel, where they found the girl's body. The two adults had apparently been living there for some time, possibly through assistance from a church, Quigley said.
