Isn't it lawful order of the president?
-
Many Dem leaders believe the President can make it happen by executive order. The numbers mentioned are up to $50,000 with $10,000 getting mentioned the most. Several candidates in the primaries talked about it. It's interesting in that it probably would benefit middle to upper middle class families the most. Most debt is held by students that went to graduate school and usually the most capable of repaying the loans. Still, it seems like a good idea to me if it is combined with increased financial aid for students attending community colleges. I'd like to see public education move from 13 years to 15 years free via the community college system.

Perhaps a little known fact but at least one of the Oberweis clan was a really strong chess player. He kicked my ass a time or three in tournaments. I still buy their egg Nog when I'm in Chicago.

Correct. So even more damming. After concluding the investigation they went ahead with the charges. And to the broader point, obviously to me at least firing him is different than hiring him. Supporting a current employee with a problem is different than hiring the problem. Hiring shows a much higher level of acceptance to the problem. Society has many ways to protect itself and enforce behavior. The laws and courts are just one.

He was arrested the day before he was hired. Your post said if everyone who drove drunk was fired. Not even the case here. The team knowingly hired someone who had been arrested the day before. Bailing someone out of jail to hire them isn't something that should be encouraged to stop drunk driving. You really should read your own posts. Lol

You're timeline is off. More accurately if everyone who drove drunk was offered a promotion the day after they were arrested there would be more fatalities.

So who is hoping for a student loan forgiveness program? I've been reading many of the arguments for and against and my gut tells me it would be helpful to a lot of people.

Homemade? Store bought? I enjoy using it to make freedom toast.

. . . maybe plan what mix of fake and real news to say in front of the fast work worker who is always eavesdropping on your conversation.

I wonder what the mood is at the office. Pressure to do something? Patience? Thinking and rethinking? Come in scan the newspapers to see if Tony's ok, check for an email from Liam's agent, figure out what's happening for lunch. Discuss if JR liked his Hanukkah gift, thinking about what to get Kenny for Christmas. Take bets on the new name for Cleveland's baseball team. b**** about the cold and when it's going to snow. Scan Soxtalk for advice.

In one of my undergrad psych courses I recall a lesbian saying something similar.

You'd think he'd be mad since they didn't secure another term for him.

Then we would think you're an idiot and we could do a better job. ? Here we can agree with you.

And I probably downplayed winning a WS a little too much. That has to be a dream for anyone in sports. But reality is only one team wins it all. If that's the only thing getting you out of bed in the morning you'll be unhappy. You have to enjoy the process.
-
Why does anybody leave? I think what is interesting as fans we just see the opportunity to win and believe that every GM should just pick the spot that gives them the best chance to win a WS. I'm not certain everyone thinks that way. Living in Chicago is different than living in Kansas City, New York, or Houston. Liking the people you work around may be important. Of course with limited jobs most people never have a choice. But I believe more people in sports look at the other things more than we think.

One of the reasons I love teaching. So many talented kids walking the hallways.

There is gallows humor in every industry I've worked in and I suspect it happens everywhere. It's a coping mechanism. My ex wife worked ERs. "How's he doing? " "Pass the bible, he's studying for the final" Oue the hospitality industry in Texas in March. "What's the over/ under on Spring Break deaths this year"? Trying to laugh at something we can't handle has been around forever, it's like whistling past the graveyard. We just aren't suppose to say it out loud anymore. From the reports I read management a couple steps above them put in place a horrible situation that these managers had to manage. Those bets seem more like bitter irony than indifference to me. But I don't know them. This seems like upper management trying to cover their decisions that put feeding people and profits over worker safety.

Wow, I earned a Master's in Literature exactly like this. What did Mack Thomas write and when with a careful analysis. I felt like a stalker. Could someone offer a TLDR:? @southsider2k5 don't you wish your kids paid this much attention to what you say?

So SS it seems like you were trying to corner the crypto market by discouraging participation by others here. You're a mean one Grinch.

I wasn't even talking about any specific player. (Which I put in italics.) Often times it isn't obvious to everyone. Some people skim posts or just repeat things they have heard without really thinking about it.
