QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2016 -> 06:58 PM) Honestly even if Trump gets elected, he is going to face a hostile congress, and that is just in his own party. I will be fascinating to watch if he is elected. Perhaps we may see the first really independent president since Washington. I just don't have a handle on what A. Policy-wise what he truly wants and B. What is actually feasible. No one should believe that Mexico will build a fence at their expense. We are not restricting an entire religious group from coming to America. So what does Trump propose that could be a reality?

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 5, 2016 -> 05:29 PM) I guess I have to work on it. I was just getting out of my car and saw the guy with the heels several strides ahead of me and my taste buds said 'not here; not now.' A lot of women feel that way when men hit on them. It's interesting the reaction guys have to people they perceive as having an unwanted sexual attraction to them.

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ May 5, 2016 -> 03:17 PM) I don't understand what you're saying. I keep hearing that people are afraid of their children being molested if the laws are changed.

Cleveland outdrew us? Attendance down 13% so far

There is a lot more competition for people's entertainment dollars which is shrinking. There is a reason that the phrase let's go to a baseball game and chill is never trending. -
I'm wondering what the tape tells. I hope that at some point he's sitting down with Coop and doing a compare and contrast with his minor starts. I believe he needs to travel with the club and get another one or two starts before hitting the panic button.

I wonder what the behind the scenes politics is regarding international players. There has to be factions lining up.

A rising tide raises all ships. Is funny how everyone seems to play better when the team is winning. When we hit that 2-8 streak the true steady cornerstone players will emerge. If he plays steady through those downturns, lock him up.

Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

He's in a tough position. And he's in a golden position. He's a MLB job. Grab it and hold onto it and it is yours for the next couple seasons. Some guys rise to the occasion.

I heard Danks is available. Coop can fix 'em.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 5, 2016 -> 03:16 PM) 19-9, bring up the attendance. Why are you so concerned about the attendance? Why don't you buy some tickets and donate them to a YMCA or something. It will help a couple of causes. Good for kids and good for attendance. You know those YMCA kids, they will sell the tickets to buy drugs. -
QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ May 5, 2016 -> 01:23 PM) Again, nothing. But when it comes time to prosecute, a man without a legal right to be in a woman's restroom is an easier case to prosecute than a man with a legal right as a self-identified woman to be there. Wouldn't the easiest thing to prosecute is him flashing, etc. the fear that people have? It's illegal now, how many people are being prosecuted now?

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ May 5, 2016 -> 10:50 AM) What's stopping the creep-o guy we're talking about here from being able to designate that he's a female? It's not like you can perform a test to determine your gender identity. What's stopping the creepy old guy from dressing like a woman now and going in the restroom?

The foreclosure problem was the homeowners could not make the payments. The mortgages had balloons and at a certain point the payments were too much and the borrower was defaulting on the loan. In those cases it was better for everyone for the banks to accept a smaller loss than having to foreclose and deal with all that. In this case the payments in all likelihood can, and will, be made. The other mitigating circumstance is y'all are choosing not to live in the house. If she was still living in the house, there isn't a problem for anyone. I agree if you can get the bank to gift you the difference, go for it. But I don't think your lawyers are being dishonest on their opinion. There really isn't a compelling reason for the bank to take the loss. If I was a shareholder in the bank, I'd be screaming if they did. On a side note, would you mind loaning me $10,000? My plan is to pay you back $5,000 and for you to forgive the balance. One other thought. With her credit in the 800s, I wonder how far it would fall if you did default? That could be a hit worth taking for $50k. A mid 600 credit rating is survivable if she trusts you will be married for the next decade or two.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2016 -> 09:34 AM) We obviously should end high school sports because Dennis Hastert used it as a gateway to molest little boys. Certainlyat that school because Sandusky took down Penn State.

Criminals do not follow laws, that is why they are criminals. So all the worries people have about their children being harmed are the same with or without these laws. Criminals break laws, it's what makes them criminals. These laws will allow honest people to use the restroom this is most appropriate for them. If you are creeping on a kid, you will still get arrested.

This was fun. My wife and I were sitting out on our deck last night when she notices a snae hanging down from one of our trees. We had a 5 foot or so rat snake paying us a visit. A co-worker asked me this morning what I did. I explain I took a few pictures and posted them to Facebook -- duh.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 5, 2016 -> 07:54 AM) I start at 7:25 and get out at 2:15. It sucks to have to wake up at 5:45, but at least I get home pretty early compared to some other schools. Just 9 more full days and I'm done. Praise the lord. I was on about that schedule previously when I taught middle school. It wasn't too bad. Even coaching I would be home at an almost normal hour.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ May 5, 2016 -> 07:34 AM) Right on. That makes sense. I figured you guys normally started school sometime b/t 7:30-8:30, meaning a 6:00-7:00 start time for the test. But 8:00am test start isn't nearly as bad. Also, you have a 8:50am normal start time?? That's amazing. I would have loved that when I was in high school. We get out at 4:05*. Middle school buses run first, then elementary, finally high school. It works the best. Middle School kids can get up, dressed, etc on their own and get to the bus. Elementary kids need mom and dad so this gives them a little more time and they can still get to work. High school kids are self sufficient so they go last. *As a coach I have a last period athletics. So we can leave for the golf course at 3:10.

I'm trying to type this without sounding like a dick. If someone could get a short sale with their credit in the 800s, who wouldn't get a short sale? Seriously, you want the bank to absorb a $50,000 loss on your investment. I tend to believe the lawyer. If you loaned the money would you take the loss?

Nice to see someone leave that isn't blasting the organization.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ May 4, 2016 -> 01:51 PM) That's pretty cool. I can't remember how AP exams work. As a teacher, do you schedule the test time? Or is it set by the AP folks? I ask because showing up 1.5 hours before school starts seems pretty early. If I was in your class, I'm not sure my brain would be fully functioning that early in the day. Test began at 8:00 am until 12:00. They were asked to arrive at 7:30 for registration, materials, etc. We normally start school at 8:50. There are two AP tests per day, one in the morning, one in the afternoon. So 8:00 to 12:00 and 12:30 to 4:30. It is a long day.
-
Really? Most of our teachers do a little something when it is "their" test.
-
My AP students needed to be at school about an hour and a half early to take the AP test today. The other AP teacher and I hosted a tailgate party with breakfast in a quiet corner of your parking lot. It was pretty cool.
