QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 20, 2009 -> 10:08 PM) Yeah, plead not guilty and claim your speedometer said you were going 25. You can also argue that the radar gun was innacurate, as others have said. Honestly, 4.7 mph over the limit is ridiculous, especially since cops ride your ass if you actually drive less than the speed limit. This is just a bunch of horses*** to raise money for the county. The way our traffic laws are designed to work is a complete joke. You can drive like a complete idiot and not get ticketed but be an excellent driver and get these foolish tickets all day long. Are there any other reasons, besides raising money for your county, that there are speed limits? Safety perhaps?
  2. Water filled with red tide really sucks for surfing.
  3. There is an wrong assumption here that being married will somehow stop someone from being a pedophile. Pedophiles and child molesters want access to children. They take jobs as coaches, teachers, janitors in schools, volunteer with youth groups, and yes, become clergy. No matter what their vocation, it is very unfair to rip others who share that vocation or the many people involved in those organizations. There are very few things I can't find a laugh at, but the abuse of children is one of them. The group that should be scorned is pedophiles and abusers, not coaches, teachers, clergy, etc.
  4. QUOTE (balfanman @ Oct 20, 2009 -> 05:03 PM) I just don't understand why a group of writers, most of whom have never played organized sports at a very high level, would vote opposite of the people who actually play the game. It's a free country, and I fully support that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but why is their opinioned valued more highly than the players themselves? My profession has absolutely nothing to do with sports, however I would value the opinion of my peers over those who know very little about what I do. Adding a couple more thoughts. For the most part writers see more games, and from a wider number of teams than do ex-players Writers are presumably less biased than players And this was The Sporting News, another media company

  21. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 19, 2009 -> 09:30 AM) I'm checking my schedule to see if I can fit in a flight to Colorado to give him a kick in the teeth. A$hole. Kick him for me too . . .

  25. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 02:56 PM) Yes. Ignore it, its just noise, and posting it over and over again only propogates the problem. I'd feel like a huge hypocrite to get worked up over something I know I would have to defend in six months. I can't understand why the parties and media even pretend to play the game.
