  1. jeers for the alphabet? Sad
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 14, 2009 -> 04:20 PM) So much for us only caring about places that only have oil... We still have the old standby, we only care about white people. That always gets our attention.
  3. Very strange when friends of my parents friended me on facebook. One actually thought another friend had a farm and needed help in real life.
  4. Well, I see some stores have their Christmas decorations out. I guess I missed Halloween and Thanksgiving
  5. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 19, 2009 -> 09:30 AM) I'm checking my schedule to see if I can fit in a flight to Colorado to give him a kick in the teeth. A$hole. Kick him for me too . . .
  6. summer is gone, yet we had 100 degree days this week.
  7. quality service, quick shipping.
  8. only buy it when the price is really cheap.
  9. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 02:56 PM) Yes. Ignore it, its just noise, and posting it over and over again only propogates the problem. I'd feel like a huge hypocrite to get worked up over something I know I would have to defend in six months. I can't understand why the parties and media even pretend to play the game.
  10. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 02:24 PM) As Fox News rips on the White House for attacking a "news organization:, they seemingly forget they supported White House attacks on NBC just last year. If everyone here agreed that this sort of hypocrisy is common to both parties and not worth our time, we could eliminate 25% of the posts. It keeps cycling over and over again based on who is in office. Frankly, I'm bored by it.
  11. At the stadium you never actually heard Michael. Some were at From Nnnn
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 09:46 AM) It can't be that simple. There is math involved - if there is enough helium, weight of child, weight of balloon, weather factors, etc. You can't simply look at a balloon and say "nope, couldn't do it", unless it was patently obvious (like, no, that party balloon twisted into a cute doggie could not lift Refrigerator Perry into the sky). The dimensions were plotted to be 20 x 5 or 1,000 square feet. The known lift of helium placed the max lift at 100 pounds. And of course that isn't lift to 5,000 feet. Plus you have to subtract the weight of the mylar

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 14, 2009 -> 09:51 AM) Katrina just misses the list. I was thinking about your response and Katrina. Were you factoring in that it probably was a contributing factor in the GOP losing ground politically in this country? Almost like the Jane Byrne snow storm?

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 08:58 AM) Apparently you had some issues in Addison with tickets (which you seem to have gotten a lot of). But your experience is not my experience, at all. They throw out stuff all the time, though you may have to still pay court costs in some cases, or go on probation/supervision. And giving a reason why the ticket is wrong will not make things worse on you, that I have ever seen. Court costs go to the courts, fines go to the writing jurisdiction. (at least in Texas) Court costs are usually more than the fine for speeding tickets. So they may reduce or eliminate the fine with supervision, and "just" hit you with court costs. Which are still close to $100.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 07:49 AM) Look no further than the automotive industry which at one point had just about everything that liberals were looking for from corporate America... great health insurance, pension, super high wages, etc. So does that mean conservatives want crappy health insurance, no pensions, and low wages? If that's the case, sign me up! Or perhaps they would like US workers to have the same low standard of living as workers enjoy in Korea, Taiwan, Mexico, and other manufacturing strong holds.
  16. Wrong response. The correct response is . . . “When Alex Castellano returns from his vacation he will be fired from CNN."
  17. I have seen an episode of wife swap and it generally revolves around parenting skills, or lack there of. Think city folk suddenly living in the country and adjusting and vice versa. Strict parents swap with lax, etc. Not as weird as it sounds, not worth watching either. IMHO
  18. for a moment, that family will be famous
  19. seems like somebody is in trouble.
  20. QUOTE (kev211 @ Oct 15, 2009 -> 06:43 PM) If my kid is missing that attic is one of the first places I'm going to check. And even if it isn't I'm going to do it before 3 hours pass. Don't give me the crap about the son saying he got in the balloon, because I'd still check there especially after it turned out he was not in it. The sheriff said the area, house, and garage was searched. It seems the kid was hiding in a box. I also ehard it may have been the dad who thought his son was in the balloon. Breaking coverage is frustrating. Even though CNN was basically reporting what they were hearing, the conjecture was so wrong.
  21. Jim, what do you think of the kid in the helium balloon?
  22. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 14, 2009 -> 02:13 PM) Via TPM: Thanks for the update. Although we seem to be slightly behind the curve. Are you checking the web site or articles about the web site?
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 15, 2009 -> 02:49 PM) Trying to publicize their hairbrained idea of a helium air balloon. helium is the standard design for long distance. Steve Fossett set the record with a 12 day flight.
  24. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 15, 2009 -> 03:00 PM) So, could be a hoax. Or, could be the boy wasn't in it at all and ran off. Or, could be the boy fell out. None are good things, but I sure as hell hope it isn't the last one. I'm guessing the kid untethered it, got scared, and is hiding. He probably is terrified his parents are going to punish him. Or, someone abducted him and used the balloon as a diversion.
  25. Dad is a meteorologist and used the balloon for weather related study. It is not a passenger balloon, in fact, one expert felt confident the balloon was incapable of lifting an adult and expressed doubt it could have lifted a 6 year old. (CNN reporting) and for Falcon, Moon Unit Zappa says hello
