  1. The reality of being poor and dying from a curable disease. http://www.themonitor.com/articles/past-29...alonzo-ran.html
  2. http://www.kansascity.com/842/story/1385463.html More at link. Basically when I rent a car, I expect it to have all the standard safety equipment. I am very surprised to learn that manufacturers allow fleet buyers to delete certain non federally required safety equipment.
  3. Hire a mime. It won't get rid of the flies, but mimes are so damn funny when they pretend to be walking into the wind or stuck in a phone booth.
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 03:04 PM) Tex, I am not sure I understand how you are reaching this point. Someone who kills someone accidentally in a car accident, if proven that it was merely an accident, would have far less of a stigma attached to them than someone who killed someone in an accident while intoxicated. Your reasoning implies that Stallworth is being given a pass because he was intoxicated at the time of the accident, while the exact opposite is the case. In general, our society cuts criminals slack if they are impaired when they committed the crime.
  5. I wore one behind the plate but not when I was playing the field. Usually when I wasn't starting at catcher, I never was brought in later. Except once, we had a small lead and the other team was running all over the place. Six stolen bases in one inning, so the coach calls time and motions for me to put on the gear. LOL, I ran into the dugout and had all the guys stand around me while I put on my cup. I took a foul tip that went under my mitt and bounced up and off the cup. That watered my eyes for ten minutes, no way I would have survived without a cup.
  6. Let's try and improve the quantity and quality
  7. Between you and me, I didn't think this thread idea was that good. I thought maybe oine day and we'd move on to something erlse. Crap
  8. Since almost everyone thinks the AL Central is a crap division, doesn't that mean there are 4-5 crap teams in the division? And I say 4-5 because one may be below crap.
  9. unbelievable.
  10. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 01:27 PM) Want to kill someone and stay out of prison long term? Get drunk and run them over. There's a lesson kids. And as long as people accept what people do while drunk as not their fault, or excuse them in some lesser way, we will continue to have these things happen. Perhaps, if the social stigma, punishment, and everything else was the same drunk or sober, people would think a bit more when drinking. But as it stands now, people will give someone a pass if they are drunk enough.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 01:13 PM) Once again, I know this will be an unpopular statement, but I am going to say it anyways. Driving while intoxicated, as much as it is an unwise and unlawful decision, does not equate to purposeful acts of harm. They simply are not the same. Diminished capacity is an interesting justification for something. If I drink enough, anything I do will not be purposeful.
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 09:17 PM) I own dogs but there is no way that what Vick did is worse than murdering a human. Agreed. And he received a very stiff sentence, served his time, and already is having an easier time of adjusting back in the world than most inmates. He found a job right away. I am not advocating dog fighting. But it seems a little hypocritical in a national that processes animals from conception to our plates like a manufacturing plant, we are a tad sensitive about some animals.
  13. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 12:56 PM) How'd those guys work out? Which in my mind is why I would grab every million available and not leave a penny on the table.

  17. Busy day for Boras. I'm wondering if the kid is thinking "I could blow my arm out tomorrow and if I sign for millions less than I could, I would never recoup those millions".
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 12:10 PM) Killing time is cool with me so don't worry. LOL I never worry

If you are using any trademarks, most reputable shops will stay away. Screen printing is easy. Walk into a shop and they will help you out all the way. Each shirt, depending on quantity and the number of different colors, will set you back about $5 to $7 each. Your screen costs and art work development will be from free to maybe $100. Ask at a local high school who does theirs.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 09:29 AM) Hit and run with a faster guy on base is the way to go Hit and run with Clydesdale on base is usually not the way to go.
  24. Not specific to the pick off at 3rd. When you only have a couple guys who can actually run, they need to be more aggressive. Getting picked off is a price to pay for that aggressive play.
  25. Early mornings after late games, suck
