There are so many different issues at work here than pro and con arguments could be made depending on what spectrum we are looking at. Overall, I think the airwaves have been divided up very well. We have so many technologies looking for a piece of the spectrum, it is a massive undertaking. Perhaps the messiness comes after the spectrum is allocated by technology and the individual frequencies within a range are administered.

Perhaps the degree of that escalation is what could be debated.

Allow me to throw this in the mix. About 33% of this market receives their signal over the air. After the transition, it is expected that most of those viewers will switch to the Mexican owned stations right across the border. This will result in a loss of revenue for US broadcasters and an increase in revenue for those Mexican stations. There is really no need for those people to spend the money to convert. House Bill H.R. 5435 was proposed to help out those US businesses that would be affected. So far it is "dying in committee" And before someone raises this point, we have Spanish language on the US side and some English on the Mexico side. So it isn't a English versus Spanish thing.

I have never been too concerned about first this or first that, which seems to be the entire concern about this. So no biggie to me. Appear wherever. Now, it will be interesting what message he sends. If it is something along the lines of "I'm here to listen, not dictate" that will make me happy.

I love Oz as much as most, but no way I could work for someone like that.
