This would be a very bad day at work
My son and I were up in San Antonio this weekend and Friday night as we were driving to San Marcos we see a fire raging about a half mile ahead of us. I said I wondered what was on fire. He replied, isn't the snake farm around here? I hate mother-f***ing snake farm fire

Swish Traded to the Yankees
QUOTE (YASNY @ Nov 14, 2008 -> 02:18 PM) Why is it when we are talking about potential trade value of our players they are always worthless, until we actually do trade one of them and we never get enough for them? Shhhh you're making sense. No seriously, we need to trade guys with value and keep the guys that suck, so the team will not suck

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 14, 2008 -> 09:16 AM) I would think guys that didn't care if they played or not would be a bigger problem.

Nationals to Offer $200M to Teixeira?
QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Nov 14, 2008 -> 01:33 PM) I think Tex is a nice poster and all but I would never give him 20 million a year let alone for 10 years. Id offer more around the 14-16 million range especially if Im going to give him that 10 year security blanket. Thanks. I know y'all like my posts and all

Christmas Wish Lists
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 14, 2008 -> 01:38 PM) Or a nice American girl to marry within the next 5 months sounds good also. Trust me, there are better paths to citizenship Tell the folks down in immigration that their new boss and you are tight from being Sox fans, that'll work.

Christmas Wish Lists
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 14, 2008 -> 01:12 PM) I believe that women should be placed on a pedestal. . . just high enough to be able to look up their dresses. FlaSoxxJim, you know when you're telling these little stories? Here's a good idea: have a point. It makes it so much more interesting for the listener!

Big Philly Style
QUOTE (sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 14, 2008 -> 09:23 AM) Yeah, I'm an hour between the two cities. Not a bad place to live for some weekend fun. Personally I thinking living an hour or two either way would be better for weekend fun but you enjoy that small town Mr. Mellencamp

If Barack and Michelle Obama got into a fight...
There are two widely respected and accepted theories on arguing and fighting with women. Neither one works. BO would get TO'd by Big MO. And he would pay and pay and pay.

Photoshop help
I don't have Photoshop or similar on this machine and need an areal photo cleaned up to create more of an aerial map for planning and presentation purposes. I would like all vegetation, etc. removed and just boundaries of a few things. Can anyone give me a hand?

Nationals to Offer $200M to Teixeira?
Reading the entire article The Nats don't have money to make a play for Manny, but are front runners for Teixeira? If Boras would represent me, I'd hire him in a minute. Hello Grad School with a $100,000 guarantee and no TA load One player doesn't work on a small or medium payroll, this isn't basketball. No matter if he's "worth" $20 mil per year or not.

Guy selling car... posts pictures of GF with it... funny
QUOTE (rangercal @ Nov 14, 2008 -> 02:01 AM) yeah it was funny to me at first, too. But, read the comments on her myspace blog. A lot of sick people are trying tear her down for no reason, some even mentioning the thought of suicide being funny. I don't understand people like that. Post on a message board she may never see? hilarious, but possibly/probably wrong. There is some gray area. Post on her myspace page? Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. That is a classic taking a joke waaaay tooo far. I don't think the op on the body building forum had any idea it would get that big. Think of the thread starts here, non have gone that wide.

Business dinner
QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 13, 2008 -> 01:57 PM) Find the Director of Catering and events at the Hilton. Explain to them that you are thinking about booking (wink-wink) an event there in 2010 and that your group would have evenings free and would probably hit the outlets (restaurant, bar etc.). If they're any good at their job, they'll hook you up at their fine dining restaurant. If you weren't with co workers, this would be a serious suggestion. I have played some of the best private golf courses in America by having my pro call the other pro and hooking me up because I was considering a move to their area. Some would bill me, most would not. They almost always found a member or members to include me. Best deal anywhere.

There's spreading your message, and then there's just being of
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 13, 2008 -> 02:13 PM) But you're using some strong words here: You make it seem that all atheists wish ill will towards Christians. I'm sure a large portion of them find the topic of heaven as irrelevant and wouldn't proactively "hope" that it didn't exist. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 13, 2008 -> 02:14 PM) I don't think the poster was saying that you can't have goodness with god. I think it was trying to say that you can have goodness with god and without god. I see you points, agree that the way I wrote the post does come off that way, so please allow me to rephrase. Different ways to write that poster. Leave off any mention of God. Good for goodness sake. Appeals to the broadest range of humans. Wonderful sentiment that the broadest group of humanity could embrace. What could anyone reject in that? A simple beautiful message for a better tomorrow. Don't believe in God? . . . Again leaves the believers in the mix and invites non believers as well. Why Believe in God? . . . Challenges those that believe. Tells the believers this isn't for you unless you reject God, and IMHO, all that goes with a Christian God, which would include heaven. Appeals to a smaller, but still sizable segment of humanity and places one group in opposition the other. So which truly is goodness for goodness sake? I do not believe that message was core for this group.

There's spreading your message, and then there's just being of
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 13, 2008 -> 02:05 PM) Talk about generalizing. Sheesh. I don't think everyone who believes in an afterlife hopes that others get into heaven also. Just look at radical Islamists. Likewise, people who don't necessarily believe in an afterlife wouldn't automatically hope there isn't a heaven. Because the poster mentions God, it would seem they are targeting a Christian deity. And because we seem to be debating atheism here, which is an outright rejection of any sort of higher being, I did not think it was too much of a generalization. The poster is the one promoting goodness and rejecting God. So which is goodness for goodness sake?
