And I'm not certain if I was clear, but this is not THE border, this is the checkpoint about 50 miles inside the country. The only comment I've heard so far that makes some sense to me was basically it should be citizens first on the buses. If I did not watch a TV news report I would have thought this was urban legend. I have faith this will be changed.- Time to extend CQ?
QUOTE (santo=dorf @ May 16, 2008 -> 08:03 PM) Or maybe bench the young and cheap player for a veteran? No, find someone in the minor leagues who will be even better . . .- Hurricane Evacuation Plans
This is being reported here. Changes to the hurricane evacuation procedures. In the event of a hurricane hitting my little corner of the United States, as 300,000+ of us are fleeing north and west, we will be required to prove citizenship. Those that cannot prove US citizenship, or other legal status to be traveling north of the interior border checkpoint, will be detained in the hurricane zone. There are basically three routes out of this area. Of those three, one will probably not be a choice due to its proximity to the coast. The second hugs the US/Mexico border and the Rio Grande River and really does not go anywhere the majority of people will be going. So we will have over 150,000 people traveling up 281 and all will be required to stop at the interior checkpoint. Brilliant! I'm trying to get my ass and my family to safety, and we're going to be in an even worse grid lock as we stop and show them our papers. And God help any one of us if we forget as we haul ass out of there.- Time to extend CQ?

In a bitter kind of irony, this thread would be best on a night when the team is losing. Yet, like some strange curendera spell, they continue to win.- Catch-All Anything Thread

When you are old and have a job, west coast games suck.- What do you think of tonight's batting order?
QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 15, 2008 -> 04:59 PM) I didnt want to start a whole thread about it, but I would look at signing Kenny Lofton to a minor league deal if I was KW. His OBP has been fairly steady over the years and could add a decent presence to the top of our lineup. Right now our leadoff hitters have been some of the worst in the majors. That's where we're a little mixed. Are we trying to win now? Holding and hoping? Building? I thought we were trying to win now.- AN OPEN LETTER TO CARLOS QUENTIN
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 15, 2008 -> 03:16 PM) I believe he has to much MLB experience to join that list. His time has passed. Duh, you are right. Thanks. I'm a bit distracted today.- AN OPEN LETTER TO CARLOS QUENTIN
It would be nice to add his name to this list Luis Aparicio, Gary Peters, Tommie Agee, Ron Kittle, Ozzie Guillen, ?- Choose CQ
IIRC the teams submit the names and position. Why so early? Paper ballots at the ballpark would be my guess. Printing up a few million of anything has to take some time.- The Soda Pop Thread

A couple facts on multi year deal. When a player does better then expected, the team wins the deal. When the player does less, the team loses the deal. Players want to sell themselves high Having said that, I'm not certain if I was Q, I'd accept a 7/$40 I'm not even certain I'd take a 6/$40 Unless he wants to cash a bigger check now.- What do you think of tonight's batting order?
