  1. Where the temptation would be greatest for me would be in rehabbing from an injury. Take this for a couple weeks, cut the healing time in half, and stop in time to clear your system, hopefully, before you begin playing.
  2. for him and his family. The level of service and sacrifice the entire Kennedy family have given this country is truly amazing.
  3. CNN reporting he has a brain tumor
  4. One of the really fun things with wiki is following links. Also on December 24 was the famous Christmas Eve reading of Genesis by the Apollo 8 crew. At the time, the most watched television show.
  5. I felt the Chicago ties were much too thin for a couple of those guys. But I understood they would fall within the guidelines, and have no quarrels with someone picking them.
  6. Happy Birthday!! Not Some Crappy Radio Band
  7. He was at my University a couple months back. Looking his age, that's for certain. The family certainly has given a lot to this country over the years.
  8. Plus, don't most of these guys have wiki's?
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ May 17, 2008 -> 11:22 PM) Yes. But with no one else sending me a write-up, I'm not sure I can use it. I'm not really prepared to write 34-49 bios on everyone else on my own. I think we have a cart and horse situation here. I'll write up a few, but I'm not certain which ones to do. I imagine that, for example, Jordan will be on the list someone, you don't need ten write ups of MJ. So maybe, at a min, send a PM to voters for guys in the top twenty and ask them for two specific write ups? Perhaps even have a standard format? Player's name, Chicago Team, years played. 5-10 bullet points One paragraph "intangibles"
  10. Congratulations! First off, seriously, congrats on having someone that would have sex with you. kids are cool. Don't forget to get your wife a nice gift. Jewelery is always nice.
  11. "I'm a god. I'm not THE God" Bill Murray Groundhog Day.
  12. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ May 17, 2008 -> 07:10 PM) Whew...almost forgot. This is like that alternative broadcast experiment a few years ago. I was starting to worry. It's like deja vue all over again.
  13. And I'm not certain if I was clear, but this is not THE border, this is the checkpoint about 50 miles inside the country. The only comment I've heard so far that makes some sense to me was basically it should be citizens first on the buses. If I did not watch a TV news report I would have thought this was urban legend. I have faith this will be changed.
  14. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ May 16, 2008 -> 08:03 PM) Or maybe bench the young and cheap player for a veteran? No, find someone in the minor leagues who will be even better . . .
  15. This is being reported here. Changes to the hurricane evacuation procedures. In the event of a hurricane hitting my little corner of the United States, as 300,000+ of us are fleeing north and west, we will be required to prove citizenship. Those that cannot prove US citizenship, or other legal status to be traveling north of the interior border checkpoint, will be detained in the hurricane zone. There are basically three routes out of this area. Of those three, one will probably not be a choice due to its proximity to the coast. The second hugs the US/Mexico border and the Rio Grande River and really does not go anywhere the majority of people will be going. So we will have over 150,000 people traveling up 281 and all will be required to stop at the interior checkpoint. Brilliant! I'm trying to get my ass and my family to safety, and we're going to be in an even worse grid lock as we stop and show them our papers. And God help any one of us if we forget as we haul ass out of there.
  16. We need to trade him while his value is at an all-time high
  17. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 16, 2008 -> 01:17 PM) Is it just me or does the time keep changing for when posts were made? I noticed the same thing. From the top level menu they are one hour off. Once you click on a forum, the are on the correct time. >soxtalk.com = one hour earlier soxtalk.com>Special Interest > SLaM = correct
  18. Surf's up, kinda I love my job Don't miss me today.
  19. It's like de ja vue all over again . . .
  20. There is a difference in liking to drink and being too drunk to type out a list.
  21. In a bitter kind of irony, this thread would be best on a night when the team is losing. Yet, like some strange curendera spell, they continue to win.
  22. The last time I could dunk roughly corresponds to the last time I was carded and the last time I could look down and see my toes.
