  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 23, 2008 -> 07:58 AM) So now he's being criticized for accepting donations. What next? Same comment fits McCain, Clinton, and everyone else who campaigns for office. And the more money they raise, the more IOUs are out there. And knowing the process, he personally will make some calls everyday to the bigger contributors.
  2. QUOTE (shipps @ May 23, 2008 -> 07:58 AM) Once I reached 1000 I kind of lost the fire to build up my count anymore. Those 10,000 numbers seem ridiculous and unreachable in my book. A couple years back there was a core group of SS, Steff, PA, Kap, Jim, YAS, and couple others and we basically posted our way through a work day. Gee, how things have changed. I'm certain we had a couple 100 post days. But it was more like texting then posting, if that makes sense.
  3. QUOTE (Y2HH @ May 23, 2008 -> 07:55 AM) She died of a heart attack due to complications with diabetes about 5 years ago, by the way, so you're making fun of a dead person. Which is so much better then making fun of a living person, that's mean. BTW, the fashions in that picture
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 23, 2008 -> 06:39 AM) Its still means something My ex-wife, indirectly, blamed this place for our divorce. Perhaps that's why I love this place so much.

I went back to Folgers a few months back after realizing I became so accustomed to the custom blend from a local coffee shop, it wasn't any better then when I was accustomed to Folgers, and Folgers was 80% cheaper. Currently it's Folger's French Roast.
  6. As long as Buerhle isn't pitching there should be plenty of game to watch.
  7. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ May 22, 2008 -> 09:52 PM) Chico's 25th Anniversary Expedition Bigfoot does not disappoint. I just cracked into my first one. 23 to go. Hmmm, 23 to go. Sounds like someone has no friends. Or at least no friends worthy of Chico's 25th Anniversary Expedition Bigfoot .
  8. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 23, 2008 -> 06:04 AM) At any amount, I was just saying that the economics of OPEC cutting production because someone else comes into the game don't seem to make much sense. They'd just be voluntarily giving up some of the market. They have a finite amount of oil in the ground and will eventually sell all they pump. Market share is not an issue, plus they work in agreement with other OPEC nations to determine who pumps how much. In other words, if you had 100 diamonds available to sell, would you flood the market, driving down prices and sell all 100 to gain market share? Or get together with other diamond sellers and tightly control who sells when to maximize the profits on those 100 diamonds?
  9. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 22, 2008 -> 10:25 PM) Got the email, had sent you a reply. replied again, thanks. Balta, good points. The answer always seems to come back alternatives. And that is the one beneft to higher prices, we're finally willing to make changes.
  10. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 22, 2008 -> 10:17 PM) I think somewhere in there is the real amount, between his .01 cent and .62 cents. So which is it, a million barrels a day saves a penny or .62 cents? Even factoring in initial costs, it can't eat up all the difference. So which number is he exagerating? If it costs $150 for the ANWR oil, it would be worse. I have never seen an estimate that had ANWR oil for less. It was always about reducing the dependency on foreign oil, but at an economic and environmental cost. BTW-- Landshark tonight, I think it must be a Budweiser product ~~ and~~ I sent an email to your work.
  11. QUOTE (knightni @ May 22, 2008 -> 07:17 PM) Do you realize that you're now 10,000 ahead of the 2nd ranked guy now? Talk about no life... Whoa! Who the hell is this Fathom guy and how did he pass me?? And Balta will pass me this summer while I'm lounging on the beach. I remember when 30,000 posts meant something
  12. I didn't see where they accounted for the higher cost of drilling and transporting ANWR oil. It's all about volume and infrastructure. Pumping any additional product, if the cost of that oil is 1.5X the other stuff would not reduce the cost.
  13. Some people see a contradiction in that the mother killing the fetus is ok but if someone else causes the fetus' death, they are charged with a crime. For simplicity sake, it seems to help by viewing the crime as taking away the mother's choice, not specifically killing the fetus.
  14. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 22, 2008 -> 07:05 PM) and then did what? nice
  15. Alpha, I just sent an email to your work. Basically in English I need Registered Texas Youth Camp Please No Trespassing Info: (956) 423-0250 I may have the Spanish later this evening.
  16. I'm a bit nostalgic, my very first thread to get locked was "Spam Here". This is basically the game thread without arguing
  17. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 22, 2008 -> 05:48 PM) copy and paste, the lazy man's bread and butter. Not entirely. You will see I quoted three different posters.
  18. Pro-choice means the woman has the ultimate choice and no one, not the state or a murderer, can take that choice away from here. I do not see a conflict between those two concepts.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 22, 2008 -> 05:39 PM) Actually, the $31 million in debt was a mistake, it's actually around $21 million. I think it was an LA Times missprint if I recall correctly, but it's so unimportant I'm not going to bother to look. I'm wondering whose IOUs are worse, the ones that come with debt or the ones that come attached to donations

  23. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 21, 2008 -> 10:16 AM) hmmmm.... Good to know who has the most IOUs out there.
  24. The best one I heard of was a minor league stadium announcer who made this call in the bottom of the twelve as a HR was re-tying the game "Oh f***! We're going to be here all f***ing night . . . oh s***, is the mic on? Hello??
