  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 21, 2013 -> 04:50 PM) Dating Oscar Pistorius...FTW That is awesome I love how it has a 2nd round potential matchup vs Dying
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 21, 2013 -> 03:33 PM) I travel every day and I carry my ipad. All of my company's applications are SaaS-based so I log onto my cloud desktop and work from there. However if I am typing up a contract, support doc, doing development or a presentation I am using my macbook air or imac. My architects would never be able to get rid of their laptops and even servers or VM's like alot of sales people can. From a personal standpoint, I have 3 26in+ LCD's at home and over 5TB of storage. I could never package that onto a tablet regardless of operating system. I can see a usecase for the "hybrid" where you can unplug a lightweight version of your desktop and take it places, however I dont think it will take off because every hardware manufacturer will try to make it proprietary which will kill the market. I also think they will then begin to price themselves too far from the tablets to make it worth people's while. Who do you guys use for Federation? We're currently looking at 2 vendors for it.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 21, 2013 -> 01:24 PM) New Mexico State has a center that stands 7 foot 5 How did he only average 6.5rpg?
  4. QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 10:39 PM) Read his post a few pages back where he talks about a DJ app that couldn't pull files off Dropbox. Edit: So sounds like the developer screwed everyone by claiming that it would be compatible with Dropbox when he clearly knew it wouldn't. Would figure this would pop up in the reviews pretty quickly and common sense would be to avoid this app.
  5. My parents are looking for a 4g hotspot device so when they are at the family cottage from April-September my mom can pay bills and such online without having to drive to town or whatnot. They initially thought of upgrading my mom's phone (Verizon) to an iphone5 so that the can have the wifi hotspot capability (she currently has no data plan). While a decent option, I'd be concerned with her using any smart phone as she is terrible with technology, plus it's quite expensive for their data plans (around $40 more per month with their crappy shareable data plan pricing). So I suggested that they look into Clear so they can pay $20/mth for 2gb, plus they can just pay for the months they are using. Anybody ever use Clear? Or a similar service provider that would be about the same for costs?
  6. QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 01:27 PM) Just because you're giving something away doesn't mean you shouldn't be held to an expectation of integrity. Just look at the SB Nation blogs. They're all free for people to use, and yet they are held to a higher standard. If they started throwing bulls*** stories about sources confirming things that haven't been confirmed, they wouldn't still have a blog. And like SS2k5 said, the "Ok, I lied, but it's your fault for not thinking critically" is about as weak an argument as humanly possible. Or Deadspin, people blast that s*** (on here especially) all the time when it's wrong. It's what people do.
  7. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 01:21 PM) Felix, You are comparing a free web blog to a paid for newspaper. I would assume there is a higher level of ethical integrity when you are CHARGING someone for the information. Had Steve charged people for a complete lie, Id agree that is pretty shameless and wrong. But when you give something away, can you really complain about the quality? Yes. Think about all the "free" services out there that people complain about: Facebook Pandora Email accounts (specifically Yahoo) If you put s***ty information/products/etc out there for everyone to see and advertise it, then expect brush back.
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 17, 2013 -> 12:46 PM) Yeah, me too. It just seems like that's the goal now. Drink until you pass out. When you first start drinking you don't know that cut off point, it hits you faster and harder than when you're older. There were definitely times in HS when I got extremely s***ty from drinking without ever intending to get THAT drunk, mainly because I just didn't know how my body would handle that much (was drinking rum out of a full solo cup, finished it within an hour. Needless to say I was puking in about an hour after that). Back to the rape case, seems like they got off pretty damn easy.

    QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 09:22 PM) Not like Pineapple Express at all http://m.ign.com/videos/2013/01/02/this-is...ed-band-trailer I'm not much of a movie-goer, I usually wait until I can stream it, but I will see that in theatres, looks great.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 03:27 PM) The Big Ten will have 2 8-10 conference record teams in a tournament to win a National Championship. The "why even have a regular season" because the tournament has too many teams ship has already sailed. A team's conference schedule is not their full schedule, thankfully.
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 03:11 PM) Bates-Diop? He's 2014.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 02:32 PM) One more game wouldn't make it any less interesting. In fact, the first round could be played on the higher seed's homecourt. Sounds even more like a regular season non-conference game.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 02:28 PM) Then why have 65 teams in the tournament? Why not make it 16? Let's really make it interesting, and screw these conference tournaments. Because we know that the current system is fun and exciting and not over drawn out nor too short. It works perfectly after the long NCAAB season.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 02:16 PM) How many of the 65 teams in the tournament have a legitimate chance of winning it? Adding another round brings in more revenue and takes every slight off the table. And if one of the top 10 teams lose to a team ranked #120 or lower, they would have probably not won the tournament anyway. Again, why even have a regular season then? Because those upset chances between the #120 teams vs the #10 teams should be during the season.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 02:03 PM) How many of them won their conference tournament? And your numbers still suggest on average about 1 a year. Personally, I think they should get rid of the stupid play in game and just add another round and make it a 128 team field. Let just about everyone in. You can take RPI and all that crap, the bottom line is the top 65 teams aren't in the tournament. Just make it 128. They will make more money. Why even have a regular season? That sounds terrible.
  16. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 01:44 PM) Steve's been working hard on a new layout for Flapship.com so if anyone wants to take a look Id love to hear feedback. Zoom just finished a pretty awesome fantasy baseball article. http://flapship.com/ Looks more professional rather than a random blog site, good job.
  17. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 01:52 PM) Rice is a PG right? That should help Abrams, who can dribble the ball but can't set anyone up. Egwu needs to be more consistent and stay out of foul trouble. He didn't show much growth this year. Henry is probably the most improved, especially the last month. I was surprised he didn't get more playing time today, but I didn't get to watch the whole game so maybe there was a good reason. IMO he's the key for next year. If he can make a jump defensively and be more confident on the offensive end they're a tourney team. If not, Illinois will be terrible next year. Rice is more of a 2/3 than a 1.
  18. QUOTE (Boogua @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 01:30 PM) It's way too early to say that. Rice is going to be pretty big addition and I think Egwu is going to be a force next year. We also don't know about transfers (5th year seniors), how the freshmen will be, and other player progressions (Henry, Abrams, etc). I've got high hopes that this Desmond Lee guy from some New Mexico CC transfers here to give us some quality minutes at the 2.
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 01:18 PM) They were safe before that game but now they should be looking at a 7 seed or higher. I would drool over a 7 or better seed, seriously didn't think this team was going to make it at all going into the season.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 01:09 PM) I wonder if an Iowa win against NW gets them in, with Minnesota now out? Seems the Gophers are usually in the Top 20 at some point in a season and completely fade out. Probably, Iowa would need to be MSU to seal it, a huge task. If they would have only beaten Nebraska on the road or not had a ball that was halfway down rim out against WI and then go on to lose in double OT, it would already be a done deal unless they somehow managed to lose to the Wildcats. It would be the first time in the NCAA's since 2006, when we lost to one of those direction Lousiana schools with an almost 20 point lead in the 2nd half and a 3 seed (Horner, Brunner, Haluska team, can't remember if Tyler Smith was also on it). Minny is still in over Iowa, Iowa would need a huge run here and eve nthen Minny probably still makes the tourney and the BIG would have 8.
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 01:13 PM) Minny is so predictable. s*** they were top 10 at one point. With that home court advantage they really should finish better than they do every year. I'm guessing it's 50/50 right now whether Tubby comes back, really depends on how they do in the tourney.
  22. Holy crap!! BPaul clutch! Now time to get rolled by Indiana!
  23. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 12:28 PM) Ugh. Tie ball game. So terrible. We are way too soft, I can't wait for some roster turnover.
  24. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 11:14 AM) Nice of Illinois to get off to a good start. It's amazing how poorly we have shot since the Missouri game.
  25. So I don't mean this to be political or anything, just found it a hilarious use of photoshop.
