  1. There were some absolutely captivating moments. Nitpicking on some things: Why send your cavalry in like they did? Seemed like a waste. Was hoping to see Arya use her special weapon more. Clearly this is leading to a war with Cersei, but what army is left? The Unsullied and Dothraki are pretty much wiped out, so you've got remnants of the Northern army left. Seems like they are undermanned (of course they still have dragons).
  2. I just can't believe that part of the show is over, just didn't think it would be resolved at that point.
  3. Also, I hate what they have done with Dany this season. They so quickly pushed her from lovable hero to power hungry/a bit mad Targaryean. Just seems forced to make up for the quickness of the season.
  4. Arya seemed like a huge setup to kill off, just got that vibe. I would say Lyanna Mormont is for sure going to die, so much setup there. The rest I agree with for the most part. And that's crazy to think about, what show has killed off a dozen named characters in 1 episode? And it could be even worse! It would make sense why this is all coming to an end so quickly episode wise, what else are they going to film if they're all dead?
  5. So how many people are going to get killed off from the show next week? I feel like last night was a goodbye episode for half of the cast.
  6. It was great to have the show back, but it was entirely setup so a bit boring in my opinion. Frustrating how many people in the show still don't understand that the army of the dead is there and they are still playing politics. From some characters I get that, like Cersei, that's right up her alley. But the Starks? Kind of figured they wouldn't get so butthurt considering they are stop #1 on the Night King's campaign.
  7. My buddy lived in Lux, that's a cool city state with way more military background than I expected/knew of. But it is expensive and not exactly hugely different from places nearby. I've also been to the Vatican, once you've gotten through the crazy lines it's pretty awesome inside. My buddy went to Monaco and they really liked it there, great vacation spot.
  8. My college girlfriend was dealing with anxiety, I quickly learned you need to lean on the professionals for dealing with that. Be there for her, but also make sure she is really getting professional help, unfortunately you can't replace that level of support and it's really needed. Also, getting off meds seems like a really bad idea unless the doctor/therapist was ok with it. It was probably going great because of the impact the meds had. Finally, I would tell her that you are there for her, but she needs to see professional help, and once she does to reach back out to you when she is ready. If she wants space I would give it to her, just make sure she is actually seeing the doc. Hopefully she gets better and realizes that it was the depression coming back that changed things.

    Taxes

I freaked out for about 30 minutes in between when I entered my rental income until I entered all of the rental deductions. Had about a $10k swing there.

    2019 Catch-All

LOL, you've got the homebrew bug that's for sure. My brother does beer, mead, fruit liquors, and sake. Have you joined a local homebrew club or go to any of the National Homebrew conferences? My brother loves doing that, and honestly those conferences seem like a blast as it's just non-stop drinking and they get a ton of micro-brew companies to sponsor stuff.
  11. Looking to do a trip in the northeast in September for a buddies wedding in Cape Cod, figured it’s be a good time to checkout the area. I’m thinking of spending 4 days in Cape Cod including the wedding, doing 3 days in the Providence area to see a buddy, and then 4 days in Boston. Anyone have any recommendations for those areas or around them? I love historical sites, don’t mind walking but not interested in 10+ mile hikes but easy 3-4 mile hikes are great. And of course any food recommendations are welcome!

Q lived in Columbia, Missouri, I don't think he's adverse to living outside of NYC lol.
  13. I’m not sure they even see him, pretty sure they saw him because they were scouting other players in New York and he happened to be on the opponents team.

    Job Thread

As with any job, if you can’t keep up with the world then you will be left behind.
  15. I’m assuming this changes the field level bar that would host the 2 hour all you can eat/drink patio. Love the new place for when I go with a friend or two, but the patio party was epic for large parties.

    Job Thread

I am a millenial and manage about 25 people, the whole millenials are harder to manage line is a bunch of horseshit. The hardest people on my team and our sister teams are older folks who feel threatened or won't change their habits. All of my younger devs work way harder and are way more motivated. They just don't accept company lines as easily. You lose their trust, they are way more likely to leave for another job. Essentially, they aren't company lifers, and that can be a very powerful thing (good and bad).
  17. I love that Illinois has life again, but let’s be real if Ayo doesn’t come back and/or we don’t get wing help then next year is probably not a tourney team still. I hope we continue to bust some brackets this year!

I never have but that's mainly because I thought it would raise alarms and wasn't worth it.
  19. Man I hate Mizzou but that freaking sucks, the NCAA continues to be a joke.

    Job Thread

A now ex-employee from my current company sounds like they are accepting a job with my former company. I keep in touch with my old boss and a few others there, couldn't believe they didn't reach out at all to me to check on this guy. If this guy does officially accept then they are in for a world of fun.
  21. Basketball shouldn't take 4 years to build a team. Big news with Kofi, a much needed step but they need more.
  22. Illinois has been killing it in recruiting the last couple of weeks. If Lovie can finally get to a bowl game in 2019 then I'm feeling pretty dang good about the future of the program.
  23. Yea the Kofi rumors were fun for about a day until he and his manager changed tunes when off campus. We'll see how that goes, fingers crossed he comes here because that is a game changer. But if he doesn't come here, I honestly don't know the way out of this. I don't think we have enough talent or we aren't coaching well enough to get out of this mess with the current roster.
  24. Yea heard about that, not surprised as the Sr Dir never trusted SA (who I like). My former manager at my current company did crazy things, I can count on two fists the number of times he purchased something without POCing it or comparing it versus something else. We've wasted hundreds of thousands of dollars because of that in license fees alone, much less people hours. Glad he left awhile back, wasn't going to last long with his style.
