QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 16, 2009 -> 01:33 PM) Per Heyman's twitter. If Joba or Price are being dangled than forget about it. Sox couldn't touch that package. Even with Price having his fair share of struggles this season. Does he mean the price for Halladay or David Price for him? I didnt think the Rays were connected at all with him.

Some interesting material between the lines

Im pretty sure JPN was never impressed with his stuff at AA. Maybe im wrong. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 10:59 AM) People choose to go veg for various reasons including health, religion, animal rights, and environmental reasons. Not sure what his reason was. Mix of health/animal rights, I remember a story on ESPN saying how his wife gave him a book on how animals were slaughtered for food or something along those lines.

QUOTE (JoeCredeYes @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 10:15 AM) Teahan is my favorite player to heckle. Occasionally get some first row tickets down the right field line from a season ticket holder and for the last 2 years I've been yelling at him asking when he's going to develop corner power, have actually drawn some looks from the guy. That being said, he's overpriced for what he is. Wow, thats harsh man. Do you have a personal gripe on him? I mean, thats just uncalled for unless youve actually met him and know he is a douche or something.

Succesful surgery, but it hurts like hell when the meds start to wear off. Im hoping this pain goes away quick.

So Im having surgery on my left knee for a torn ACL on Wednesday, but I still want to be active or atleast not completely inactive. I know physical therapy will start very soon after surgery but Ive been so lazy since the injury (8 days ago). What exercises do you guys think I can do with a stiff leg (from the swelling, and yes, that sounds like a boner), is it safe for me to still lift at the gym? Im fine walking, with a bit of a limp, but stairs are very slow and the leg obviously has very little flexibility so even getting in the position for sit-ups is too hard. Any suggestions?

And Ill join in, again. I went from 260 to 215 last year, but over this past year due to school and now work Im up to 240, not good. Problem is I tore my ACL and I dont know what Ill be able to do exercise wise, but I need to eat healthier and less. Going back to Soxtalk Biggest Loser!

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 11:26 AM) Well, those I-Phones are more important to buy and have plans for then health insurance. Think about it. Well, you can probably just buy an app for health insurance now.

What's the best seats you've ever had at the Cell?
bigruss replied to Marky Mark's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Friend's family took me to a Sox game where we sat about 5 rows from the Sox on deck circle, it was fantastic. I think they mentioned the mayor's season tickets were close to ours, but not sure on that (plus this was like 10 years ago). Other than that bleacher seats and upper deck for me. -
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 02:23 PM) Not looking at who is getting increases, I believe we have about 41 million off the books this season with the Colon, Count, Dotel, Dye, and Thome contracts expiring. Would love to see Dye get signed somewhere around 2 years, 16 million. Dotel I would like brought back too, and pick up a team option for Pods that we hopefully put in there in the ballpark of about 3 million. Try and get O-Dog for 5 million and I love the line-up. 1. Podsednik, CF 2. Ramirez, SS 3. Dye, RF/DH 4. Konerko, 1B 5. Quentin, LF 6. AJP, C 7. Beckham, 3b 8. Hudson, 2B 9. Fields/Viciedo/Allen/Someone else, RF/DH Not a bad start for a team that would still have plenty of money to spend. We'd be delaying the youth movement by keeping the band back together for one more run, but whatever. Lots of righties too in the middle there but I don't really mind. I know that the two hole gives Ramierz alot of fastballs, but I would put Hudson their in your proposal. Then move AJ to 7/8th, and put Ramirez 6th. If Quentin shows he is close to 2008 form, you obviously move him up. Depending on the progress of Beckham, you can move him keep him at 7th or move him to 8th. A really strong lineup there though. But, will O-Dog really only cost 5 mill? He was more than that this year and he is hitting really well.

So my friend recently told me this story: I found this incredibly hilarious, especially since my friend can do really good accents and such. I mean, who the hell can come up with that on the spot?

So I was talking to my gf about the Sox and how epic Beckham is/will be (she really wants to learn more about baseball) and I was joking around about how sexy Becks is on the field and off of it. She agreed, maybe when I take her to the game Ill go try and get an autograph or watch Becks warm up when she goes to the bathroom

Just got back, it is indeed a torn ACL. I opted to have the replacement made from a cadaver, risking infection (obviously they check the body to make sure its clean but theres always a risk) instead of the normal making it from your own tendons. This means half the recovery time, which I will need since I am going back to college soon and wont have a car to go to PT. I had a ton of swelling, so they emptied about 4 syringes of blood, it was disgusting. Surgery will probably be next week. Thanks guys for all the comments about your thoughts and experiences, I appreciate it alot.

As I mentioned, I got X-rays on my knee and they found that the bones were in place, but maybe the MRI will show that the knee cap is dislocated more than the x-rays showed. I dunno, but Ill find out in a few hours what is going on when I meet with the orthopedist again with the MRI photos. Im anxious to find out what it is.

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 01:07 PM) Was your knee cap displaced at all? Or did you hear the pop or more so feel a pop? More like felt a pop, and then a collapse. But X-rays showed that the knee cap was still in place.

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 01:04 PM) It took about 9 months total. I was on crutches for about a month.. that is what sucked the most. They didn't want me walking too soon due to the hamstring. Wow. I totally understand the crutches part, I was sick of them within a day, luckily I can put enough weight on my leg to walk, and crutches are just if I need the support now. So how is you flexibility/range of motion now? Do you feel like you are close to where you were before in terms of physical activity (like you can go play football with friends without concerns)?

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 12:56 PM) I had my ACL ruptured and my PCL stretched out so bad my hamstring had to be screwed to the side of my knee to stabilize it. All from a football injury...took a helmet directly into the knee. Ouch! Well I dont think mine is that bad, I have a feeling its more with the joints. How long did it take you to recover? I mean, that sounds nasty!
