  1. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 22, 2014 -> 12:15 PM) Come on Penn St., put this one away. I don't want there to be any possibility of Beckman saving his job. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 22, 2014 -> 02:11 PM) And f***. There's a legitimate chance Beckman is back next year now. Seriously? This outlook pisses me off, that win was earned by our seniors they deserved it. Forget about Beckman for one day and enjoy an Illini win, he isn't coming back anyways so relax and let the seniors/team have their moment.
  2. QUOTE (farmteam @ Nov 21, 2014 -> 08:10 AM) Yeah definitely streaky. Blackmon is a stud. IU is going to pull some upsets if their backcourt gets hot. I was telling my roommate last night, if Blackmon stays 3-4 years he's going to be a monster.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 19, 2014 -> 05:38 PM) Any identity management experts out there that want to work in Chicago? I bet I'm the only one on this site that works in Identity and Access management =) I wouldn't necessarily call myself an expert, but I'm good, got some leads at your company Rock?
  4. QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 17, 2014 -> 07:52 PM) I am prob crazy to open this can, but I am still saying the sox may have a 1 or 2 surprises in there systems as relievers. there and that is all. Saying they may have them is fine, but who are you thinking will be those surprises?
  5. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 17, 2014 -> 02:00 PM) I was pleasantly surprised on Saturday. Actually had a couple decent offensive moves and held his own defensively. Obviously nothing special but he looks like he could at least be a decent contributor off the bench for us. Good to hear, hopefully he becomes a solid player for you guys.
  6. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 17, 2014 -> 01:55 PM) For the SIU fans, Ibby is out 4-6 weeks and Caroline though he played some pretty solid minutes on Friday was limping the whole time. Looks like we'll be playing a lot of small lineups until conference play starts. Besides being injured, how's Ibby looking this year?
  7. My low cose-high deductible plan was removed, they offered 2 new plans instead: Silver plan - lower cost, high deductible, HSA Gold plan - lower cost, high deductible, company would match $500 into your HSA However, it costs you an extra $550 for the upgrade to the Gold plan, I think the only other difference was that there was a reduced cost for generic drugs which doesn't matter much to me (and it's an extra like $400 if you are covering a family). I ended up switching to the more expensive but lower deductible plan, it was about a $100 total difference over the year. I'll miss my $17 payments but the cost for the "new" plans was too high to justify. Plus, we now have a new HSA for dental/vision so having an HSA option from my healthcare plan wasn't necessary anymore.
  8. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 13, 2014 -> 12:37 PM) I thought at one point we were pretty high on Murray's list? Is that not true anymore? I think we're up there, but if he doesn't reclassify (which with Abrams back next year isn't the worst thing for us) then that gives the big boys (namely Syracuse) to gain ground/put distance between us. One of the most disappointing things with Groce/Ford is that they keep getting rave reviews in Canada for their connections but they can't seem to land any of those top guys, if they are going to continue to spend time recruiting/scouting up there then they need to get some value out of it.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 13, 2014 -> 10:48 AM) We are 100% done and there is a chance ILL and others could add some guys so I think overall the Big Ten could improve. Illinois has 3 final targets for 2015: Bragg (not likely), Lovett (somewhat likely), and Murray (not likely). I could see us adding Lovett but I think this class could be done.
  10. According to 247's composite ranking, Illinois landed the 2nd highest ranked player of all Big Ten teams in Coleman-Lands. And we have the 8th rated class (right behind yours Rock). -Man the Big Ten had a fairly weak class so far. -Lots of players not signing NLOIs in the early period. It'll be interesting to see how the recruiting game shifts with so many top players waiting to commit/sign now.
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 06:02 AM) I guess he's being advised by John Lucas, who had off court problems and bounced back. Also close with the coach in Texas. Pulling for him. He's definitely being given a lot of chances by Groce, that means he's impressed the staff enough to keep him coming (also helps we missed out on our big targets thus far). Really hoping he's got his personal stuff figured out first and then he can contribute on the court.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 02:10 PM) I am a God. Brought all of my people over. Great situation. Insane compensation. Great company. Congrats!!!
  13. Darius Paul coming back to Illinois next year, hopefully he's changed and will be able to produce when he gets on campus.
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 09:28 AM) I've never been at the 100 level, really want to. Toronto will be a big test. I've been in the 100s for the Illini game at the UC, the viewpoint difference is huge compared to the 300 lvl seats I was in a few years ago for a bulls game. I now will only really buy 100 lvl seats for games (I really only attend the UC Illini game and White Sox games in person), so worth the extra few money.
  15. QUOTE (Boogua @ Nov 6, 2014 -> 12:30 PM) Some rumors that Jawun Evans might be wavering a bit on his commitment to OK ST because Thomas and Gilder didn't end up there. I doubt it amounts to anything, but just an interesting thing to pay attention to leading up to the signing period. I would not be surprised at all by that, but still think the odds are low that anything happens.
  16. Eminor, you've become one of the best posters on this site. Great post.
  17. QUOTE (farmteam @ Nov 3, 2014 -> 07:01 PM) However the school handles all of this, it better be very careful of not bringing the program back to its knees like the post-Sampson cleanup. I in no way mean that the players should get off easy or anything, just that the administration should be very cognizant of not wanting to start all the way back at square zero. That's more on the players/coaching staff then the administration. Anything the administration does is a result of their actions/performance. I wonder if Groce gets called if Crean is let go, I imagine he would be.
  18. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 2, 2014 -> 09:47 PM) Iowa State scrimmaged Minnesota today (secretly) and apparently did quite well without their starting center (Jameel McKay). Iowa State 103, Minnesota 78 In Hoiberg's words, he wants to go much quicker than last year, when they were already 16th quickest in tempo. Wow that's a stomping, Minny is supposed to be decent as well. Illinois had one of those "secret" scrimmages as well, beat Dayton by 4 per reports.

Nice! Glad it worked out for the better as well!
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 30, 2014 -> 11:30 AM) Yeah I like that a bit more than what I have seen. Still to this day though most of the people i see using wearable health devices like the fitbit are not the kind of people I associate with "health" You know me, I'm a big guy. I wore a fitbit for about 6 months and it helped track how active I was and reminded me on my lazy days that I need to do something, but it had way too many hardware/software bugs to really like it and think it was truly worthwhile. Getting an accurate read on heart rate for during workouts would be great to have, that's really good data that can actually be applied to how you workout.
  21. Missouri checking out JaQuan Lyle, good luck with that.
  22. See now thats more like it, tracking heart rate and stuff like that is so much better than just steps and definitely makes it worthwhile for that cost.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 29, 2014 -> 08:23 PM) Must have been thinking about the Royals, lol. That actor has kind of disappeared, unless he's on an obscure tv show. He was in Justified for quite awhile, pretty damn good in there too.
  24. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 29, 2014 -> 04:35 PM) Have they actually fired Renteria yet? I'm sure it's in the works and per Heyman he had been approached about the possibility.
  25. CBS just reported that Maddon has agreed to coach the Cubs.
