  1. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 30, 2014 -> 03:14 PM) Has to pain Brian to see Tate play well Really nice to see Cosby make some 3s.
  2. Sloppy game, we should be killing UM.
  3. Who said this: "Everybody that's for us...is for us" Tim Beckman or Jim Harbaugh?
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 29, 2014 -> 11:01 PM) I understand it, but if you want to live in a nice area, you pay for it. I see nothing wrong with that. I also understand that people leaving because they can't afford the rent anymore sucks, but there's a reason that rent went up most likely and that's because the neighborhood around them probably became safer, brighter, etc. While I get that this can be a negative impact on people's lives, I don't get why so many people are against it because the pros should outweigh the cons in many cases.
  5. This article popped up on my news feed, it's one of many articles on gentrification that shine a bad light on it and really to me seems to be racist (in that they don't want white people taking over neighborhoods, which to me is racist within itself). I completely understand the frustration of neighborhoods completely changing, as those can be considered home for many families, but really I don't understand the angst over a neighborhood becoming more valuable, safer, and overall in better health. Neighborhoods swing all the time, it's like people would rather see it go into despair instead of allowing new businesses and white people there (and I call that out because it's a core concern in many of these articles). This has especially been heated in Detroit, which again loses me completely. You have a complete s***hole city and you finally get investors to come and build up areas and money starts to flow in. But now since it's mostly white people moving in it's considered bad for the neighborhood. What am I missing here? Clearly from my perspective this isn't a bad thing but others are really against it.

She absolutely could have some mental issues, the hard part will be to get her to admit it and want to do anything about it. At least the kids are out of the house.
  8. Classic illinois football: force a fumble, recover, fumble yourself and lose it. Would've been a turnover on downs and instead they get the ball back and have 2 huge plays and eventually score. Pathetic.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 26, 2014 -> 01:40 PM) Can't blame the refs for this brutal kicking game though. Why even attempt those 40 + yarders? 7 points missed by kicks in the first half, ugh.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 26, 2014 -> 01:27 PM) Not to be a stereotypical Illinois fan, but these refs suck! That blown pass interference on the pick 6 is killing us.
  11. QUOTE (Douglas Rome @ Dec 26, 2014 -> 11:08 AM) EDIT: I know you are new here and all, but this is a pretty intelligent site all and all. If you want to talk about firing a manager in your first post here, you had better come ready to carry some weight as to why. I may be new here, but I ain't no whippersnapper and I ain't no troll. I started watching/listening to White Sox baseball when I was about 9 or 10yrs old and this Feb I will be 69yrs old. I seen every manager from the 50s to date and Ventura is one of the worse we have had. Yes, personality does count, and he has zero, you want the Sox to be front page of the funny papers? You gotta have a spokesman who commands attention. Remember Ditka? The best part of those years was watching him, he kept the team in the funnies. Most of you guys are still wet behind the ears compared to me, so please don't opine me that I don't know what I'm talking about. thanks, douglas Ditka worked for one season, after that he wasted the talent that was on those Bears teams. And I'm pretty sure the best part of that Superbowl team was winning the Superbowl...

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 24, 2014 -> 01:33 PM) Well when Susan Sarandons daughter does porn, i will watch it Seriously, those boobs were awesome.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 24, 2014 -> 12:45 PM) Porn exists, guys. No need to watch a bad show for the occasional boob like it's 1995 and you're 14. The acting is slightly better in the show though.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 24, 2014 -> 11:56 AM) Susan Sarandons daughter is just amazing in her episode The young actress that wants to star in Hank's movie? Yea she was a bombshell.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 24, 2014 -> 11:46 AM) Yea, i understand that i wont get much. sending it back for refurb is preferable to me than holding on to it until it is unusable and it ends up in the city dump I'd do the same thing, unfortunately my old kindle fire wont charge up to 40% so I can't even get the damn thing to go back to factory settings so I could return it. It charges higher but it doesn't read the battery level right, so frustrating (it'll just stop increasing the meter at 25%, but the damn thing will run for days still).
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 24, 2014 -> 10:36 AM) Does Amazon have a trade-up program for Kindles? I have one that is 3 years old, and its been through the ringer with my kids. I saw the HD Fire 6 is 79 bucks and want to get it, but I would rather not have 2 of them. They have a buy-used program for a lot of devices, Kindles included. That said, you will probably get like $5 for it.
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 23, 2014 -> 05:44 PM) You could know that, and as soon as it joins you would know a hell of alot of stuff about it, if they have the right tools. I saw a cool demo by a company named Tanium that is getting momentum because of BYOD, the tools are being built around this. Well like I said you could do BYOD securely, you just need to have the right tools in place for it, and not a lot of companies are there yet. It's definitely coming though, companies want to do everything they can to push support out, whether that's outsourcing or pushing it back to the manufacturer, that type of savings will always entice companies.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 24, 2014 -> 09:56 AM) Dunno. It was so bad I never went back. I kept with it, watched it as kind of white noise most of the time. It gets pretty bad, the 7th season is just a turd, but there are funny parts and hot nekked chicks. Can't remember the season but there's this british chick that's a nanny and they show her boobies a ton and with good reason, perfection. But that was the best part of the show.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 23, 2014 -> 11:01 AM) And if the Rays trade Longoria for any Sox Prospect Sans Rodon I'd ask what the heck they were doing. Pretty much.
  20. I trade any Sox prospect sans Rodon for Longoria and I wouldn't question it at all.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 23, 2014 -> 09:37 AM) It's personal. Our company won't allow us to procure Apple laptops/desktops yet, although they do allow us to procure iPads/iPhones. So how it works is they will allow us to use personal machines, but IT does not "support" them. Basically, this means I can't tap in to the company systems, other than my email. Russ, as far as the security questions, is this specifically regarding company documents/information on a machine which may not be protected by our IT department's particular security protocols? Ah that makes more sense, is it actually allowed on the network (I would assume not reading the above)? Allowing personal devices on your network is scary for a few reasons: -Work documents on a personal device (confidentiality) -No control over security software (could even have nothing on it, whereas all work devices can be managed), when was the last time the device was scanned for threats? -Technically you wouldn't know whose device it is on the network, is it a contractor? A fulltime employee? An invited or uninvited guest? Could someone walk right in with a device and access the network? Lots of ways to get around those concerns, but it has to be done right. BYOD (bring your own device) is coming, because of employees like you who prefer to use their own machine because the company isn't offering a good enough option. It brings flexibility, and could be quite cost effective (pushing support back onto the manufacturer/seller) but there needs to be work done around it to limit exposure.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 23, 2014 -> 09:27 AM) Been using the new MacBook Pro for about a week now. Very pleased with it overall. Very powerful machine...was able to upload my entire music library (several thousand songs) as well as hundreds of high-res photos from the wedding simultaneously and very quickly. The machine is light, fast as hell, and just feels solid overall. I turned in my work-issued Dell to IT and told them to go ahead and wipe it clean. I will never be using it again. Is that company issued or personal? It's pretty nice if you can use a personal machine at work, though there are a ton of security questions around that.
  23. Reminds me of a book, Cyberstorm. Kind of a SciFi book around the "what if" countries decided to use cyber terrorism, it was a fun quick read and only $1. I doubt we had major involvement in shutting down their internet, my guess is it would be someone closer to them (China).
  24. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 22, 2014 -> 06:21 PM) Usually this is done through DNS with an alias or cname. Yea Steve I would talk to your networking guys to see what they can do, a cname shouldnt be hard to setup at all.
  25. MSU loses to Texas Southern. The big ten is truly awful this year.
