  1. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 4, 2014 -> 03:05 PM) Lol at that guy. Totally read his name as Life Shatz, seems more appropriate.
  2. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 4, 2014 -> 01:43 PM) I'm still scratching my head about them letting Lind go. They have a void at the DH spot now. Seriously, he would've fit in pretty damn well into that lineup.
  3. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Dec 4, 2014 -> 01:28 PM) A poster here, My sox Summer, I believe, attended 50 games a few years back for less than $500, and got lower level tix for some of the games too. If you really want to go to the games, the cost of the game isn't what's stopping you. I work in Lake Forest and live on the north side of the city, it's never been about cost but ease for me. I'm closer to the EL now which makes a big difference, but it's a pain in the ass to get to the park from many parts of the city. Nothing the Sox can really do about that, the highway infrastructure sucks in this city.

QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 2, 2014 -> 11:11 AM) Redamaks? They are seasonal though. Love that place, I need to go back as it's been years now.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 2, 2014 -> 10:58 AM) I made these several times last summer: Spicy Chipotle Turkey Burgers They were delicious. I know I made them with turkey, and I think I made them with beef once. Got the idea from Whole Foods who wanted something outrageous for them.
  6. Illinois ranked at 24, wooo! Really tough game at Miami tomorrow, I don't think we win this one.

Fast food: Culvers or Wendys, Portillos is good as well Fast Casual: 5 Guys, Red Robin At home: I do 2 kind of burgers: Standard - Form about 1/4 - 1/3 in thick, push a "crater" into the middle, garlic salt and pepper. 80/20 probably makes the tastiest burgers. Cajun - Same form but douse in cajun seasoning on both sides, trick is to not go easy on the seasoning as otherwise you can't taste it. Best toppings: Fried onions, bacon, and avocado along with cheddar cheese. I still think the best burgers are at the local restaurants that do it right, as much as I love my grilled burgers, I think frying makes the best burgers.
  8. Great weekend for illinois, that was awesome beating NU and Fitzy to go bowling as they stay home.
  9. Corporate has to stay open today and Christmas eve since our branches are, so I always work from home those days. Just did a bunch of online shopping and eating leftovers, it's a good work day.
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 27, 2014 -> 03:53 PM) Slickdeals.net is your best resource Yup, best deals site out there. Picked up a few things on Fanatics and on Amazon, including Shadow of Mordor for $25 on the PS4. Very happy for the few things I bought, all during a "work" day.
  11. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 27, 2014 -> 04:17 PM) Illini holy crap they look good Loving this right now.
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 06:06 PM) I'm sure the Cubs would probably rather keep Russell, but who knows. No one is saying that the deal exists out there, just that we shouldn't close our minds to it simply because we don't think anyone is willing to pay the price. If someone wants to pay the price I have in mind then they can feel free to offer it, I just don't think any team will believe it's a value trade back to them.
  13. Shack, I understand your perspective, I really do, but no matter what trade offers are out there they most likely wouldn't be in the Sox favor. The Sox would be taking the majority of risk, or if we went after a variety of major league players we would be sacrificing talent. If you're trading Sale you are trading him for a proven, cost-controlled, young MLB star. How many of those are out there, and how many are as cheap as Sale? I would listen to Trout +, the plus for the difference in their contracts. That's how valuable Sale is.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 05:32 PM) Huh? The Cubs are trying to buy the Red Sox? Yea what was that?
  15. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 05:50 PM) I can see a legitimate argument that you'd prefer Castro to Russell. But it's still a minimum of Bryant, Soler, Castro, and another guy that's a tier down. And the Cubs would just never do that. I feel like the Cubs would try to pass off Baez as a top tier guy, then include Alcantara and some lower dudes. After intense negotiations, their best offer might be ONE of Bryant/Soler + a couple third tier guys. Or maybe one of Bryant/Soler + Castro to clear their SS logjam. I think the Cubs would take the bolded in a heartbeat, Sale is that valuable at his age/performance/contract.
  16. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 01:04 PM) For every one of those instances, literally dozens are white on black. I'm actually really curious around the data on that, if anyone has anything around that please share. It'd be interesting to see minority cops vs white "victims" with % of minority cops included in that. I wonder if it actually differs greatly from white vs. minority "victims".
  17. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 08:43 PM) I didn't even know there were people in Eastern Washington. My cousin goes there, only reason I knew that place existed.
  18. IU loses to Eastern Washington, Big Ten really doesn't look that impressive this year.
  19. QUOTE (Boogua @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 07:56 PM) Egwu has taken 8 shots in the first half including 3 3s. He's a really bad offensive player, so that should probably never happen unless they are all dunks. He's had a really bad game on both ends. Loving the defensive intensity to spark a big run, we need to learn to start every game like that.
  20. Well Illinois...gotta be better than that if you want to win.
  21. QUOTE (gatnom @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 05:24 PM) I'd fire Beckman even if he got 6 wins, but as long as he plays NU close his odds of sticking around are probably better than 50%. Regardless of Beckman staying/going, us making a bowl this year would be huge for the program and so I'll be rooting on this team no matter what. I honestly don't think Beckman will be kept, I think Thomas has a plan on moving on from him but we'll see.
  22. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 05:05 PM) I don't think that is true at all. I think there is a chance that he is brought back even if he loses to NW and if he beats NW and is going to a bowl game I would be really surprised if he isn't brought back. I personally would be shocked if Beckman is kept by Thomas, he would have to win out and the chances of that are still low. I think Thomas wants a new coach and hasn't seen Beckman as the guy for awhile. That said, this all relies on two things: 1. Do we win Saturday/and in a bowl (moreso Saturday)? 2. Are any coaches worth pursuing even interested in this job? But in the meantime I'm going to enjoy this team finally doing something in the Big Ten and really, really want to beat NU and Fitzy to steal a bowl game from them as we go bowling.
  23. QUOTE (SnB @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 10:37 AM) ...literally every game for the rest of the season is a must win. He's a Packers fan hoping we can wipe out Detroit for him.
