  1. Two phones? Personal preference for that? I can't stand carrying an extra phone during my on call rotation.
  2. Evolve is fun, but it's totally going to end up like Destiny. Be great for a few months then get bored.
  3. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 19, 2015 -> 05:40 AM) Blackshear at Curie to me looked disinterested and was alway pouting when I saw him. Don't blame him since his coach was a clown. He was good at MP but him and Irvin there always ran their mouths and couldn't back it up. They may have won a city tournament, can't remember, but don't think they got out of a regional in the state tournament. He always seemed like a huge question mark to me despite being an explosive high school player just because of attitude. Shocker
  4. Or taking into account the cost of the trade.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 18, 2015 -> 12:26 PM) My wife constantly calls me Job because of my suit bills. GOB (George Oscar Bluth) COME ON
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 17, 2015 -> 06:39 PM) The market for 1bdr condos sucks. I won't tell you not to buy condos in the city, but I would say if you are going to buy one, make sure it's in a dense area. Don't buy a condo in like norwood park or oak park. I had 2 friends buy in 2012 with 2bd condos, and now have made 40k in equity. I had others that bought in 2009 and will be underwater for 10 years. I would just tell you to make sure you get a place you can rent out, that is in a neighborhood that is not already priced out, and do NOT buy that with less than 20% down. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 17, 2015 -> 06:40 PM) Also don't plan on making money. Buy a place whose PITI is reasonable to renting. You can only guarantee that your return is living in a place, not that it will get you money back. Yea that's what my mom (former realtor) keeps saying, 1bdrs are just too hard to sell. It would definitely be in the city, right now I'm looking around in Avondale and Albany Park since it would be a much better commute than where I currently am. And yea, renting it has to be an option, while I don't see myself moving out of the city really any time soon I need to have that option. I have about 40k to put down, so it's close to the range I am looking at (180-220k), obviously less would be spectacular. I'm still trying to save up a few extra thousand, could easily have than in a few months (I'm covering costs for a trip with friends right now so that's like 2k right there), avoiding PMI is definitely a priority. The place I really like right now is 220k, in Avondale, it's a converted factory loft building (bedrooms have full walls though), 2bdr, 2 bath, plus a den, and has a parking spot. Total monthly payment (including tax breakdown and HOA) is about $1250, so if I do have to rent it out I could easily cover that and should make money off of it.
  7. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Feb 17, 2015 -> 03:18 PM) Banana Republic (mentioned earlier in this thread) has extended sizes available on their web site that are not sold in their stores. They have 30 to 40% off sales every couple of weeks. If you get on their email list, they will let you know when. Thanks I'll definitely check them out then.
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 17, 2015 -> 02:23 PM) DON'T buy a condo in the city Just curious, why? Too hard to resell?
  9. I'm a bigger guy, so my choices get limited pretty quickly. I typically buy my button down work shirts from Polo online, they have regular sales that make them affordable and I find they fit better and are better quality than what Kohls will offer. I definitely struggle more in the shoe department, 14 extra wides are pretty damn rare out there. I usually end up buying Durhams (owned by New Balance) on Amazon, usually buy a pair or two a year as they are my everyday work shoes.
  10. I've started looking again at condos (just online, not with a realtor) as my lease ends in May (but is month to month after, owner is selling the whole building and will give us a 3 month heads up on when he needs us out no matter what). My current roommate is most likely buying a place and moving in with his girlfriend so that kinda leaves me on my own. Has anyone bought/sold a 1bdr condo, is it really hard to find a buyer for those places? I've been told that they are had to unload. Also, any suggestions for mortgage providers? I bank with Chase so they are always an option, but if anyone has good suggestions or places to avoid that would be great to know.
  11. So Kaminsky is pretty good. Illinois playing better than I thought they would, really need to keep up the 3 pt shooting to have a chance.
  12. Aaron Cosby told not to play basketball this week, looking like he won't be back next year.
  13. Rumors swirling that Illinois is backing off of Lovett, thinking that he won't qualify. Man that sucks if true, would love to have him learn for a year (Abrams/Tate/Lovett in that order) then split time with a SR Tate before taking fully over. Guess we'll be waiting another year for a pg...

    2015 TV Thread

One would think CC would go all out to get John Oliver back. And I don't blame Jon at all, 16 years of doing the same thing has to take it's toll, hopefully he found something else to do that keeps him happy.
  15. That jacket tho...PIMP Great job man, FutureSox has been killing it this year.
  16. So Clash of Clans is the biggest waste of my life, yet I continue to play it AND get in arguments over clan members. Takes gun, shoots at own foot.

    Snowmageddon 2015

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Feb 3, 2015 -> 06:05 PM) I'm in Milwaukee right now. After my drive back to the hotel, I decided that if I ever lived in the North, I'd spend the extra money for a car with 4 wheel drive. Probably a Tahoe. These past 2 winters have me regretting buying a Ford Focus, love the car in everything but snow (it's just too low/light). If I wasn't able to work from home I would be screwed during these storms.
  18. I only really visited Barcelona, and only saw Madrid for about 4 hours (had a long layover there), but really beautiful city (though my buddy said he like Barca more). And as mentioned, go to plazas, grab some food, and enjoy the views. Madrid was the same way as Barca in terms of just beautiful women walking around.

    2015 Books Thread

The 5th book gets the series back on track, and if you watch the show then I definitely recommend reading it before the season starts as it will go heavily into it (at least according to the trailer preview). The 4th book is much slower than the rest of the series, but I really enjoyed it the 2nd time around. The hardest part is book 3 ended with such a bang that almost anything following it was going to be slow, so then to put the 4th book with most of the boring characters was a tough read to follow book 3. Once I read it again (and not worried about story progression) I found it really enjoyable and had a lot of details on characters/story development that initially went unnoticed/under appreciated.
  20. QUOTE (farmteam @ Feb 8, 2015 -> 10:55 PM) I'm moving apartments soon, anyone know where to get a lot of boxes on the cheap? Local uhaul places will sell you boxes, they buy back what you don't use. If you just need a handful, then any hardware store should have a variety in stock.
  21. Big win, take care of business at home and let's go dancin.
  22. I think they were about $300 in 2008 for my school, maybe $350. They weren't cheap at all, not many people bought them because of that. Actually, more girls bought them (or at least wore them to school) from what I remember.
  23. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 11:31 AM) It's good for Bailey though. Illinois still has to grant the release. NIU wouldn't surprise me. I'll see if I can get any info. I coach in his old HS conference. NIU would be a good fit, go back to the Lynch style offense and he could do really well.
  24. QUOTE (gatnom @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 11:18 AM) Had plenty of talent, but if the coaches aren't going to trust you to throw the ball, what can you do? Yea it was pretty clear he wouldn't be a QB at Illinois. Wish it worked out better but he was one of those high risk/high reward type guys, and unfortunately the passing just never caught up to his run game.
  25. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Feb 4, 2015 -> 03:54 PM) B&B were all over Beckman's ass around 2pm; something about him blasting the media at his signing day presser. Anybody know anything about this? Just read some about it, apparently he was telling the media to focus more on the positives and not just the negatives (very much paraphrasing there). It didn't sound like a total shot at the media, but yea telling the media what to do will never go well. I see his point, Beckman has dug himself (note: he did this all by himself) a big hole and the media (and let's face it, fans) aren't letting him get out easily. To him, the staff, and the players, the program is on the up and has had a couple really good months (making the bowl game, finishing strong recruiting wise), but to the media and most fans it's just a delayed crumble to a failed regime. I don't think Beckman is the answer, but I do think he deserves credit for getting to that bowl game when pretty much everyone wrote them off, and to pull in a recruiting class like they did is a good sign. Now can he not just sustain it but grow on it? Not sure on that, but this year is 100% make or break for him.
