/Detroit
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 10:05 AM) The City of Detroit certainly doesn't. The idea would be to try to combine federal and state grant/loan programs (there are a zillion of these for various purposes), and go to the private businesses that are still strong in town (there are some), and start doing it one neighborhood at a time. Doesn't have to be done all at once. Still pie in the sky, but not entirely impossible either. I'm sure Ilitch would still be on board to buy more property in Detroit, he clearly wants to own Detroit.

Dunn?
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 01:16 PM) And I'd lilke to hear what those FACTUAL rumors from those FACTUAL Reds fans are, as there is still nothing that supports his RIDICULOUS opinion. I hope you got my sarcasm in that post But yea, PaulStar if you have some documented stories/quotes/etc I would be interested in hearing them. So far, I've seen nothing bad said about Dunn as a person.

2013 in-game experience?
I've been twice this year, first time was Sale's almost perfect game vs the Angels and sitting like 3 rows behind the 1st base dugout. Awesome seats/view/experience. 2nd time I had my annual group outing (33 total people) doing the Patio Party before the game and sitting in the UD during the game. We were all trashed (bunch of 21-25 yr olds with unlimited beer) and Im sure a nuisance to people sitting around our area, but we weren't rude to others and there was plenty of room around our group so we weren't bothering people right next to us.

Healthy Eating Thread
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 01:08 PM) It could be worse, they could be eating pizza or steak. Should've mentioned, that salad is before any meal they prepare. The meals themselves tend to be healthy, typically chicken (maybe steak), veggies, and possibly a baked potato they'll split. It's just maddening to me (because they are my parents and everything) that they think they are being healthy with those salads.

Dunn?
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 01:04 PM) What exactly did Dunn do in the clubhouse that made the Reds lose so many games? Now I'm interested. I've never heard people say Dunn is a clubhouse cancer. Please provide some details. FACT is Reds fans claimed rumors to be FACTUAL. So those are FACTS. Don't believe him? It's ok, that's just his opinion.

Healthy Eating Thread
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 11:20 AM) Yeah, the olive oil can play the same role...I like olive oil on a salad with more greens in it...I prefer ranch on salads with more colorful veggies. I eat a salad every day at work which consists of cucumbers, bell peppers, tomato, hard-boiled eggs, shredded carrot, etc...I put a decent amount of ranch on it..something like that is still going to be very healthy overall, and as long as you don't eat like absolute s*** at other meals and you get off your ass once in awhile and workout, it's really not going to make a difference. Yea that salad is definitely still very healthy. It's people like my parents who absolutely douse their salads in ranch (but hey it's light ranch!) that aren't being healthy. They eat salads to be healthy, but meanwhile they must be putting close to 150-200 calories in each salad on dressing along, it's disgusting (they also add shaved almonds, dried cranberries and sunflower seeds). I've given up trying to convince them to cut down on it.

NBA Thread 2013-2014
QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jul 1, 2013 -> 05:23 PM) @WojYahooNBA As @KCJHoop reports on Gar Forman's dismissal of Tom Thibodeau's top aide, relationship between Bulls' GM and coach easily worst in NBA. Then get rid of Forman, losing Thibs would be disastrous.

NBA Thread 2013-2014
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 1, 2013 -> 03:37 PM) The front office seems to be in a "f*** Thibs" mentality. Which I just don't get at all, there must be something behind the scenes because right now Thibs has shown that he can take the mediocre s*** that the front office throws at him and turn them into very respectable teams.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 1, 2013 -> 03:56 PM) Xbox president Don Mattrick is leaving Microsoft for a CEO role with Zynga. "Haha suckers! That PR mess is all yours now!" Except he goes to a struggling company that may need to change drastically to stay in business.

Financial News
I thought the law was that to be enrolled in any form of payment besides check/cash requires the authorization from the employee to do so. I can still see where employers are pushing these forms of payment onto their employees and trying to take advantage of them, but they would still have to accept it first before legally having to do it.
-
Financial News
From what I've read, it's illegal for companies to only be able to pay with those prepaid cards. They must first get approval from the employee to pay in that form, and also must offer to pay in check or cash as well.

Clearly that guy was in love with the product HE created, which is no surprise. His own feelings for his work got in the way of what consumers/gamers actually care about.

/Detroit
I have a ton of HS friends in Detroit (all from the Ann Arbor area) that are all about saving the city and stuff. Essentially, they view it as a hipster paradise and want to bring in a really progressive culture to help rejuvenate the city. I have also seen them mention a lot about the Ilitch's buying out a ton of land and buildings in Detroit and they are worried that the city will be run by 2-3 companies/families and they'll be able to do pretty much anything they want to do. I would argue with them that it was that case for the most part anyways (big 3 auto) and any money being invested into Detroit right now is a good thing.

Official Recruiting Thread II
QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jun 17, 2013 -> 03:52 PM) Still think Lyle ends up at Louisville. Really want Exum and that looks really good right now for Indiana. IU jumped into Leron Blacks recruitment with two feet and he's already planning a visit. The religion factor is huge here and he loves Crean already. Blackmon, Exum, Okonoboh, and Black looks like a real, real possibility. You stay away from Black! Illinois has a great chance there as well, he connects extremely well with Groce and mentions UofI in every interview it seems like.

I literally jumped off my couch a few times while playing Last of Us, f***ing Clicker snuck up behind me (didn't think he would follow me and was worried about the two in front of me) and I almost screamed like a little girl when it happened. This game is flat out amazing.
