  1. I will miss probably about the first 3 innings as I have a dentist appointment tonight (cleaning). I hope when I turn the TV on when I get home they are winnig - GO SOX! EDIT: Looks like I will be home in time for the first pitch (barring crappy traffic) - they are rescheduling my cleaning yet again!
  2. Uh, last time I checked, they didn't win.
  3. Not sure what you meant by this post, but I can guarantee there is still a packer-bears rivalry.
  4. When I got in from the Ford Nationals (seeing an ambulance with a jet engine made the entrance fee most worthwhile ) to see the score was 4-1 bad guys. I must confess that I shrugged my shoulders and put on discovery channel to watch "A Haunting in Georgia." Serve me my crow please.
  5. I am lovin' this 'never say die' mentality this team has shown this year. I think team chemistry has some to do with it as well as Ozzie not taking any of the lazy attitude that JM seemed to tolerate with this team (either that or the ones that were spreading the lazy attitude have been traded or walked via free agency).
  6. Nellie Fox (if he were alive) could tell you all about that...
  7. Not sure why Martha is included there. I personally think she was railroaded. The 'star' witness was anything but believeable and I think her b**** persona got her convicted more than any facts in the case. Oh well, I still like her show on the food channel.
  8. I hope the pressure is what lights a fire under a couple players' asses. As I hum "Under Pressure" to myself in the empty office... lol
  9. LOL! Brian's mom and sister couldn't believe I was cheering against a Chicago team (as they put it). I was disappointed in all the traitor Mount Greenwood people I came across!
  10. lol future - too lazy to type out stuff today - the last three weeks or so of work have been murder...lol
  11. It's the best therapy out there for knees - no impact and it still excersizes it. My uncle-in-law does a bunch of laps a day for his knee problem.
  12. Honestly, it sounds like something that he's had for awhile (as you said, undiagnosed) and strikingly similar to what I have.
  13. Anytime my dear. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings tho...
  14. Psst - see my post above ya, it's there...ya kinda have to dig for it, but it's there...
  15. Sounds like stuff my doctor (when I was 18) told me when I was diagnosed...(osteoarthritus and alignement and such).
  16. Does anyone know what this is? I've looked at webmd and did a search or two and couldn't find anything... EDIT: I tried heads spelling and I'd rather not say what topic came up...
  17. Degenerative has to do with cartilage as well (my condition). I've just never heard of an entire leg being degenerative...
  18. Oh - those who can listen, can you inform those of us that can't?
  19. Teaches me to do work. What is a degenerative leg?! I have degenerative cartilage in my knee (now both). If you have big dough this can be fixed (see harold baines).

    Rogue Waves

Does anyone know what happened to the movie that was supposed to come out about the wreck of 'Big Fitz?' There is a website for it, but it seems like it hasn't been updated in ages.

    Rogue Waves

For some reason or another I've been obsessed with it since I first heard the song. I think that was because I thought it was about something long ago and when I found out it was a year (almost to the day) before I was born, I was hooked, I wanted to know as many answers to who, what, where, when, why and how to prevent it. From there, I got into books about Great Lakes wrecks in general.

    Rogue Waves

One theory (that I don't buy nor do most Great Lakes sailors) is that the hatches weren't sealed properly causing water to flood the holds and thusly sink the ship. Sailors from that time said that even is no clamps are securing the hatch, they won't move enough to flood the hold as stated - they each weigh in excess of a ton. There is no denial that the hatches didn't have all clamps tightened, but most of the clamps on each were. There might have been water coming in, but not enough to sink the ship. Sorry, but I am going to take the word of sailors over the Coast Guard on this one. Another theory are the '3 sisters' which is related to what started this thread - three monstrous waves, in succesion hitting the ship causing it to capsize (?) and sink. Another is that there were repairs that were desperately needed and going through a storm like that exasorbated the problems causing cracking on the hull and it finally gave way when the fore and aft where in waves and the center of the ship was actually out of the water. - for the most part this is the one that I believe. Another one is that the back end was raised so high that the front end was driven into the lake bed. Another is that the initial injuries to the ship was because he was too close to he shoals and actually bottomed out causing cracks and gashes which when put through the stresses of the storm eventually gave way, breaking the ship in half. Another is that the load shifted because of the water and movement causing the list that was reported and eventually if fatally shifted causing the wreck. Please keep in mind that I am doing this from memory so some parts of the theories might be off a bit.
