All Brian's cars have been fords and mercs. My last two were mercs and have had almost no issues. As for the plant, they make Ford 500 (the next generation Taurus). Everyone that I knew in HS and college that had Taurus have had nothing but good to say about them.

Because I got home from work late, I missed the first 3/4. The last 1/4 horrified me and inspired me at the same time. Apparently the lady that was having her face reconstructed was a victim of domestic violence. They showed the before and after as well as healing time and cost. They marked the cost as 1,000,000+. The before picture absolutely stunned me - the middle of her face was basically gone. She now has a prostetic nose and they reconstructed her mouth to get it back in some seblance of normal for her. They had a party at the hospital for her when her surgeries were completed. They talked to the staff and talked about how she always kept faith and how they are so happy that she is doing so much better (physically and mentally). The fact that she had so match faith and such a positive attitude really inspired me and I wish I could have seen the whole thing if just the last 15 minutes inspired me as much as she did.

I can't remember the last time we had a gubernatorial candidate that was worth their salt.

Brain and I had our first date at an Applebee's so I agree with Steff and Soxy.

Congrats and good luck!

What happened? I stopped watching after Burton's engine blew. I know a numb-nut rook took out Schrader with a bone-headed move.

Official College Football Thread

That was quite the shock we had listening to MSU come back and beat NW. Made our drive to Cincy all that more enjoyable haha. Too bad ISU (Iowa State) and NC State didn't fare as well - oh well can't win 'em all. -
Last night was the first time in a good while we went to an ECHL game (from what we could remember March of '04 was the last ECHL game we went to see). It was so freaking awesome to see the Cincinnati Cyclones back in action! From the money that was put into the team, I have a hard time believing this is a one year deal. F5 was looking as "mascotty" as ever, throwing shirts and playing catch with the crowd. They have new jerseys (and now so does Brian lol) and a full squad. I mention this last part because in either 01 or 02, when they made the playoffs Don Biggs came out of retirement so they would have two full lines. Their goalie was fantastic! He made 37 saves and got a shut-out to show for it! The officials are as bad as I remember. They tried their hardest to get a goal for the Storm, but no dice! The fighting...nothing like a good ole ECHL fight. There were about 3 (give or take haha) fights with the last one being the fiercest and most dangerous. One of the Cyclones (44 Martin) got his ass kicked at center ice while some of the other guys were fighting by the goalie. Another player jumped over Martin from what we (the crowd behind and next to the Cyclones bench) could see, the jumping Cyclones player slashed the arm of Martin. There was a bit of blood at center ice as well as in the towel as the trainer was helping the poor kid off the ice. One of the Toledo guys is likely looking at a 1 game suspension for intent to injure (from another fight that was going on at that time). I am waiting on some articles hoping that the slashed kid is okay . The one thing that survived the 2 year layoff was the bad blood between these two teams. The attendance last night was listed as 3168 and the night before it was right around 4358. If they can keep this up, they will be around for at least a little while in this form of the Cincy Cyclones. B) The ECHL officials were as horrible as I remembered. Between BS penalties and obvious penalties not called, it led to a couple of the fights that could have been prevented if the refs made the calls they should have made. Case in point: the puck went out of play so play was stopped and a Storm player who was behind a Clones player (both behind the net) came from behind and knocked him down (really hard shot at that). Was a penalty called? Yes, on the Clones player for interference - guess he didn't get his ass out of the way in a timely fashion. (No he wasn't the one who was going for the puck that knocked it out of play, that was a different Clones player and nothing was called on the cheap shot artist on the Storm). All in all, completely worth the road trip to Cincy. We plan on doing it again for the 11/6 game which is against the Florida Everblades (Canes ECHL affiliate) - not sure who I am going to cheer for that one since that will be my first Everblades game. GO CYCLONES!!!

Freakin' Penguins took out another on of our guys. Bastards. At least the Canes beat them 5-1. Good to see them win two in a row.

Burton did a fabulous job of over-coming adversity to finish 3rd. That was one wicked hit Mark Martin took. He was an idiot for going on that side of Yeley, but Yeley was an idiot as well on that one.

Farming. I've always wanted to do that since listening to my dad talk about growing up on a farm. It's a ton of work, but damn, it is rewarding.

RIP. Prayers go out for him, his wife and son. ETA: As well as or the others that lost their lives.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 11, 2006 -> 12:42 PM) People will still accept the risks. They will believe that promotion will happen. They will believe that interest rates will decline in five years. They will believe their home will appreciate in value at the current rate. They will believe in anything. And some will have a comprehension problem. This is something that Brian and I talk about quite often. Certain people in our lives have chosen to live well outside their means to "keep up with the Jones." As soon as money gets tight, they whine to the Brain who doesn't want to hear it. It's one thing to splurge here and there and another to splurge all the damned time. It surprises me how many people never learned how to live within your means.

Brian's cousin has gotten the balloon payment mortgage for each house she and her husband have owned. We thought the first two times made sense, but the last one didn't since they had kids that would be school aged by the time the balloon payment was due. She knows the risks so I guess she knows what she is doing. When we combined our pre-existing loan and construction loan, my cousin (aka loan agent person) walked through it with us even though we already knew we didn't want an ARM. He, too, advised against it but wanted us to know all out options before signing. We got a sweet rate too.

Much better...the auctions were removed and the fees were credited. Passwords were changed all-over (in areas where money changes hands). Now if I can figure out who is behind (630) 260-7222 (I swear this isn't an old number I had - the only two I had were 630-985 and the other was work and I can't remember what it was but I would never have used it for ebay).
-
Well, I am waiting in some security chat thingie. I've signed up for credit monitoring as well as checked both banking accounts I have (neither were attached to ebay but were and I stress were in paypal).

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Oct 10, 2006 -> 07:35 PM) Quick thought, QP, did you check your out/in box for messages as well as completed sales thru your account? because if there are charges, it probably means someone used your account to sell crap. hope that helps. I did check - that was the only time and from the emails I received from eBay (late Saturday evening) it was someone in England that did it. Just what i needed - MORE STRESS!
-
I haven't used my account in almost a year because I hate ebay so much. SO as soon as this gets cleared up I want them to delete my account and pretend I never had one.
-
I've already emailed several times and so far, haven't gotten anywhere. Someone apparently hacked into my account and ran up $522 in seller fees. I need to get a hold of them and get this removed. I keep getting the email run around when I try to find contact info other than email. Any help is appreciated as I am freaking out a bit here.

I noticed that as well. Admins are working on it as I type this.

Happy bday all!!!

Interesting finish to 'Dega. Too bad Jeff B had a flat with 10 to go. If he had maintained 5th, he would have a nice sized points lead right now. Oh well, there was his mulligan and thankfully he maintains the lead for now.
