TV Shows Ending
No kidding. The writing wasn't great the second to last season, but the writing in the last season just blew me away. I still bawl when I see the last episode on sci-fi.

Gasoline tops $2 a gallon, nationwide
Working as far away as I do, walking and public trans are completely out of the question (public trans would require 2-3 hrs there and 2-3 hrs back plus a good bit more money that it costs to drive). If they could tell me why it is going up then maybe it wouldn't bother me as much. EDIT: At $28 a fill up, it will cost me about $180 a month in gas. It stings after awhile especially when there doesn't seem to be a clear cut reason why.

Dodgeball vs. NASCAR
No one has answered my question yet why it is getting so many of your panties in a bunch? If you don't watch it, why do you give a f*** what those of us that do watch it think it is a sport?

Angels interested in Jose Valentin?
I know he sucks in the playoffs, but I thought he's been fairly solid in the regular season and as stated by Spiff, it's better than what we currently have in the 5th slot of the rotation.

Why is Crede still playing?
No kidding. I haven't been happy with his play this year, but he got the job done, why whine and b**** when we have a 5th (or lack thereof) pitcher to whine and b**** about? The one I saw last night was bases loaded (I thought) and he knocked in 2 with a decent hit.

Angels interested in Jose Valentin?
Kinda thinking the same thing.

Dodgeball vs. NASCAR
There is competition, offensive driving (see Tony Stewart), defensive driving (see drivers around Tony Stewart), winning, losing and physical and mental exertion. How can this not be a sport?

I can tell you've never driven an 800 horse power car when the power steering and power brakes have gone out on it. I've driven a 429 car that has drum brakes and manual steering and you need plenty of muscle for that and I wasn't going 180+ mph and the 429 isn't 800 horsepower. EDIT: Oh yeah and it was 120+ degrees in the car either when I drove it.

A Child Arrived Just the Other Day
It's a good thing the police officer was there. The baby had the cord wrapped around his neck. Health and good life to the baby and all involved.

Why are so many of you getting your panties in a twist over whether NASCAR is a sport? I can't stand basketball, but I don't feel the need to go into every basketball thread and rip on it.- OT question
sounds like you are trying to save the link and not the picture itself...why that is happening, I couldn't tell ya.- I won't be around as much...
Prayers and thoughts to you and Angie and family. That happened to a good friend of mine at the last company we both worked at. His brother-in-law died in the beginning of summer and his mother-in-law at the end of the summer. He was with the company for around 20 years at that point and would only give 1 day for each. My boss had to haggle with HR to send flowers to both. And that was one of the many reasons he was sick of working in a corporation and is now a teacher.- "Whiplash"
I had pain for about a week after I was rear-ended. This was a couple days before my high school graduation too. It took several years to recover my deductible (she didn't have insurance and gave the cops bad info on the report). Hope you are ok Steff.- Rockies to trade Helton

I drive appx 40 miles to and 40 back for work. I wish I could carpool (financial and stress relief) but everyone I work with lives in either Skokie or Wrigleyville. Public transportation isn't even a choice for me either because the easiest way would take between 2-3 hours to and the same back because there isn't a direct (or anything close to direct) way to take. It would require taking 2 trains, and about 2-3 buses. I would love to be closer to work, but no one around me has been hiring electrical engineers either. It really sucked having to pay 28.10 for a fill-up yesterday, but I didn't exactly have a choice either...- Soda, Pop or Coke
