They've been doing that for a few years now - glad to know it is on again this year.

Chicago (at least my corner of it) lucked out when it came to last night's storm. It did some damage west of us (as in central of the state area, not saying a few miles west) but all we got is a few hits of lightening, a gust of wind (no more than about 10-15 mins of the high speed winds predicted) and about 10-20 minutes of a downpour. Being that we were under a tornado watch/warning (can't remember which), my corner of Chicago really lucked out.

I am off today and greatful for it - I needed a day after Saturday's flight home.

I can't swim either, I don't think I've drowned yet... How can two hours pass before a parent notices their 7 yr old is missing?!

Been there - pretty decent pizza. Good pizza: Connie's, Nancy's, Beggar's, Rusty's (this exists as something else, but I had to mention them - a friend of Brian owned it and Brian owned a sliver of the business as well - Although Brian wasn't a huge fan of the pizza lol) and Palermo's just to name a few.

Surprised when I read that Chris Moneymaker was eliminated already (he was the defending champ). We watch it occasionally (usually when it is on late and nothing else is). He plays poker with his buds and occasionally I will, but I respect my bad luck and therefore don't try to push it too often.

Did you see the 'all-star race?' I only saw the final part, but what the heck happened to cause a wreck to knock out jeff burton and ricky rudd? How in heck does Geoffry Bodine and Ken Schrader get into an all-star event? has Geoff actually run a Nextel race this year?

We watched this on the original run. He got the DVD set for Christmas right after it came out (and he bought the set for his brother for that same Christmas as well).

Yup - separated by 2000 miles (or so). He's staying home. Even if I had finagled a way to get him on the business trip with me, he'd have to stay home regardless (his dad was hospitalized yesterday).

Maybe I shouldn't be flying tomorrow... The dentist that ID'd teh bodies is the guy who put my braces on... I hope those souls on board are resting in peace.

So far my area hasn't had any extreme flooding (a few streets, but not much at all), but it looks like Gurnee and other areas around the Des Plaines river are being either evacuated or are already underwater. I have one question, why would someone build on a flood plain?
