Working as far away as I do, walking and public trans are completely out of the question (public trans would require 2-3 hrs there and 2-3 hrs back plus a good bit more money that it costs to drive). If they could tell me why it is going up then maybe it wouldn't bother me as much. EDIT: At $28 a fill up, it will cost me about $180 a month in gas. It stings after awhile especially when there doesn't seem to be a clear cut reason why.

I can tell you've never driven an 800 horse power car when the power steering and power brakes have gone out on it. I've driven a 429 car that has drum brakes and manual steering and you need plenty of muscle for that and I wasn't going 180+ mph and the 429 isn't 800 horsepower. EDIT: Oh yeah and it was 120+ degrees in the car either when I drove it.

His brother-in-law died in the beginning of summer and his mother-in-law at the end of the summer. He was with the company for around 20 years at that point and would only give 1 day for each. My boss had to haggle with HR to send flowers to both. And that was one of the many reasons he was sick of working in a corporation and is now a teacher.

I drive appx 40 miles to and 40 back for work. I wish I could carpool (financial and stress relief) but everyone I work with lives in either Skokie or Wrigleyville. Public transportation isn't even a choice for me either because the easiest way would take between 2-3 hours to and the same back because there isn't a direct (or anything close to direct) way to take. It would require taking 2 trains, and about 2-3 buses. I would love to be closer to work, but no one around me has been hiring electrical engineers either. It really sucked having to pay 28.10 for a fill-up yesterday, but I didn't exactly have a choice either...
