I would never even guess it, but the way he reacted made me wonder a little.

I agree and that is the strange thing. He is usually a good kid, but the last few times we have seen him (last 3-4 months once or twice a month), he has been a complete cry baby which is completely not like him. Brain and I were thinking it was maybe that within that last three years, he went from baby of the family to a middle kid.

[mindless rambling] I went to Frankfort Fest and ended up buy Brain his anniversary present - an end table that was hand crafted in lodge-decor fashion (met the gentleman that makes the pieces). Brain has been asking me what I want and I told him think of something (I have no idea what I want, if I even want anything). I bought the end table because I thought he would like it and decided after I bought it that it would be his anniversary gift (it is hiding at my MIL's house for the time being). Brain 's nieces and nephews were over Sunday for our niece's 1st birthday. She shares her bday with my FIL so while we celebrated, there was a little sadness as well (their bday is 9/7). Our nephew ran his mouth and when Brain got up to speak with him he takes off into my SIL's house and proceeded to knock over a glass of juice onto her beige carpet. Brain told him to clean it up and went into drama queen mode screaming and crying running to the second floor. He kept saying that he was afraid Brain was going to hit him because Brain threw the rag at him telling him to clean up his mess (Brain was going to help him but ended up cleaning up most of it with the nephew's dad). I actually snapped at the kid because he would stop crying and freaking out. Brain has never so much as said a cross word to him even after he kept running his mouth and calling Brain names. It made me really think hard about whether I really want to try for kids after our first anniversary. I do not know why, but I have been in the WORST mood since Sunday. My allergies flared up Sunday morning so after church I went to Dominick's and picked up some Benadryl. I took 3 doses that day and none since, but feel emotionally like crap. [/mindless rambling]

This shocked me when I read it. RIP Steve!

Not sure I will be able to watch Richmond. A little bad luck and this season was all for naught. Looks like the nascar officials will be very happy - all the golden boys are in the chase.

Brian and I had no problems getting married in a Catholic church even though we were living together before getting married and we didn't lie about it either. They (the church) even offer a specific pre-cana for those that are over 30, are living together, previously divorced or have kids from a prior relationship. While some portions of the church are still "stuck" in the past, there is no denying it, more and more parishes are moving to the present, at least in Chicago. Our pastor and other priests even talked about the sex abuse scandal and told us how he went to school with one of the priests on the list. They both talked about how it sickened them, that one time is too many and that they should be dealt with in a court of law. The other priest (non-pastor) even went so far as to say he didn't agree with how the Cardinal handled the recent accusation. Getting off of my soapbox, I have read about people who do this (rent married priests) and to each their own as their is a loophole that once a priest, always a priest so the marriage must be recognized by the church as a "legal" marriage.

My cube is now nice and neat and clean. This means that the next time I go to find something, I will not be able to do so lol.

http://www.nbc5.com/news/9772716/detail.html EAST CHICAGO, Ind. -- An East Chicago man was laying in a coma on Thursday after being arrested by police. Jerome Clement was having a diabetic seizure, family and friends told NBC5's Amy Jacobson, but East Chicago police said they thought the 39-year-old Clement was drunk and belligerent, so they arrested him. Clement, who has been diabetic since he was 11 years old, had a heart attack while he was being arrested, and was on life support. Clement's family said they would take Clement off of life support this weekend, and said they were considering their legal options, and a Lake County judge has already ordered all of the evidence in this case to be preserved. Last Friday, Clement was in his car when someone called the police claiming a man was passed out and needed help. Jacobson reported that when police said they arrived, they allegedly smelled alcohol and claimed Clement was kicking them and resisting arrest. Phyllis Jordan, Clement's grandmother, said it was impossible for her grandson to have been drunk. "He doesn't go any place except to stay home," she said. "He does not drink. Never in the last 20 years." The family's attorney said he believed police mistook his diabetic episode for belligerent drunkenness. "We just believe this is something that shouldn't have happened," said Kevin Smith. "We believe that hopefully that, as I think the chief of police in East Chicago said today, that they should have had a class on this." Clement, who was a welder in the area, has had seizures at work, friends said. "He couldn't control himself and stuff like that," said Christopher Lesinewski. "He fell to the ground and he was shaking and everything else like that. Somebody ran and they got like a few Tootsie Rolls and stuff like that and put them in his mouth." Clement has lived with his grandmother since his mother passed away, and both have looked out for one another. "My grandson means the world to me," Jordan said. "He takes care of me, I take care of him. We're like two people born together." Late Thursday afternoon, East Chicago Police Chief Angelo Machuca Jr. in a statement said "As police officers, we are confronted with many scenarios in which difficult decisions must be made within seconds. I will stand by the decisions made by the officers who responded to this call." ******************************************************** Had Sgt Russell not recognized what was happening to my dad a few months ago, this could have been him. I hope these officers get the training they need so someone else will get the help they so desperately (and quickly) need. My prayers and thoughts go out to the Clement family.

I really f***ing hate when we publish something as a "standard" value and the turn around after the customer has designed the part in and decide it is a special. This bloody day WILL NOT END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 And thankfully the VP of marketing comes in to save the day and takes care of the customer. Thanks to him!

QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 03:16 PM) Ah... so you're the one with the Hockey Package... I have it as well, but I have WOW for my internet and cable provider. -
Finally escaped their clutches, huh? So when are you going to spill about them?

So glad it was found!

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 11:46 AM) First Santa's Village now this. That bummed me when I read it. I remember all the times I would go with my aunt, her friend and her friend's nieces and nephews. As for Jimbo's it shocks me, but it doesn't. Condos are everywhere now-a-days. Can't stand them myself, but they serve a purpose I guess.

We have WOW (Wide Open West). It varies on where it is available though.

I was is in honors and took 4 (two per semester) college courses at Maria so I hear ya about not exactly remembering the requirements. Either that or this 30 thing is coming fast and furious (c'mon age, I have a few months left of my 20s let me enjoy it lol).
-
Filled up last night and it was 2.93 - shocked me as it was 3.05 a few days before. Why are the gas prices dropping so quickly and so much?

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 30, 2006 -> 06:23 PM) Calc was not a standard class when I was in HS. Is it now? Anything beyond algebra 1 and geom were not required. I had to apply to Calc and Trig and it was only for honor students. I did not have an actual accounting class until I got to college. I had music in HS and I took Calc in my senior year. At Maria, if you were in the college-bound curriculum, Ialc was a must. Otherwise, you had to take a 4th year math (I think) but it was up to you which one you want to take (algebra I and II as well as geometry were mandatory).

They were waiting for me to get home before taking the lead !

I want to be a fly on the wall for the next family gathering they attend together lol.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Brian and myself did as well. He still has to wear a uniform (which I am grateful for as the ink, starch and grease really screw up clothes and are a b**** to get out).

Inspite of the fact I am getting a free meal at Texas de Brazil in Schaumburg tonight (thank you sales manager here at work), this day has been nothing short of a PITA.
