If it isn't one thing, it is a freaking 'nother. I am beginning to hate seeing him on pole. Also, Harvick is the world's worst teammate.

I can't decide what shocks me more; that he got a DUI or that his cat was a 1995 Saturn (the year was in another report on this). Not that there is anything wrong with 1995 Saturns, mind you lol.

Ok, I have PCI on my computer and while everything else is great, the video card sucks big, fat hairy nuts (Nvidia GeForce FX 5200). My processor is a Pentium 4, CPU is 3.39GHz, there is 1G of RAM and I am running XP as my operating system. I have 107G free hard drive space (thinking about adding an external hard drive, but not going to waste my money if I have no way of upgrading the video card). Brian wants to play Hitman - Blood Money and while we meet or exceed most of the recommended specs, the one we do not is the video card(it is supposed to meet the min specs, but the game runs like crap). Turns out the computer blankety-blanks out there have now made all new video cards require PCI express or AGP, of which I do not have. Is there a way for me to make my computer compatible (or be able to use) the PCI Express or AGP cards - anything external I can add to the computer? If not, looks like we will have to buy another computer that I am really believing is a complete waste of cash.

Thing is, it seems some parts of his confession were completely incorrect from what they were saying. I am waiting for the DNA results at this point - too much odd stuff otherwise going on with this confession.

Anyone know if you can have cell phones in the jury room (the room before you get called on a panel) in Richard J Daley center? I've served several times at 26th and Cal and once in Markham and you could there at that time (most recent time was 13 months ago).

My SIL has the FF plates (my FIL's truck still has his FF plates). I think they look better uncustomized (is that even a word lol?). If you really want custom, I like the GOSOX out of the suggestions.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 09:27 AM) I think its odd that he kept referring to "being there" when she died, but not killing her. And that he was in long-time contact with the mother. I still think there is the possibility the mother was involved here. Hard to say, though. Dude is creepy in any case. I thought the same when I read what he had said. I also thought it was interesting to note that the parents gave the cops the guy's name.

Just gave his name on CNN 41-year-old John Mark Carr, a one-time school teacher.
-
They are reporting the suspect is a 41-year-old second-grade teacher.

I always thought she was covering for Dad, but that thought (she did it) crossed my mind as well (jealousy and such).

Honestly, I did suspect the dad in this case, but I do not know if what I have read is accurate or not.

Report: Arrest Made In JonBenet Ramsey Case A Denver television station reported Wednesday that an arrest has been made in the unsolved 1996 slaying of JonBenet Ramsey. MORE DETAILS: http://www.nbc5.com/tu/5ibO0CxVE.html DENVER -- A Denver television station reported Wednesday that an arrest has been made in the unsolved 1996 slaying of JonBenet Ramsey. Authorities in Boulder, Colo., informed JonBenet Ramsey's father, John Ramsey, that an arrest is expected outside of the United States, according to KMGH-TV in Denver. In a telephone statement delivered from his Denver office to KMGH-TV, the Ramsey family's attorney, Hal Haddon, confirmed the arrest. "The diligent investigation of Jon Benet Ramsey's murder by Boulder D.A. Lacey and detectives working with her has been extraordinary," Haddon told the station. "It is hoped this arrest will bring some closure to the Ramsey family after a 10-year ordeal. We respect the legal process and will have no further comment until the legal process is concluded." Ramsey was found dead in the basement of her parents' Boulder home on Dec. 26, 1996. Her death has remained unsolved for almost 10 years. No other details in the case were immediately available.

I seem to remember hearing about this (or something similar) a few years back. But then they couldn't agree on whether they should be planets or not so they were not made planets. -
You ain't kidding, Eye.

It is by Joseph Wambaugh. The copy I took out of the library is 444 pages long and I am on about page 100. Normally I really like true crime novels, but so far, this one is just not growing on me as I had hoped. I do not know if it is because this one is grittier than most I have read (and I have read quite a few) or how he is setting up the characters before the crime, itself, happens. I do not find myself rushing to pick it up again, more of a, "if I keep reading it has to get better" attitude towards it. I searched the title online and found reviews for the movie but stopped reading them as I did not want to know too much before finishing the book. So, has anyone else read this? What was your take on it? Did you watch the movie after reading the book?

Not sure at all. Hopefully no later than St Patrick's day though.

Pain...sucks. At least the gaps in my top teeth are closing which means I am getting closer to getting these bad boys off and on to living life with retainers. Joy!

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 10:32 PM) You'll get better responses from others, but one thing I can say is if it's not fixed right now, there's going to be a LOT of volitility in the markets over the next 3-5 years as the mortgage adjusts. If you don't lock in, good luck - a short term vs. long term issue - just be very careful to not be too shortsighted. If you can't pay for it now, there's probably a reason. I agree with Kap. Our mortgage was for about $192000 and taxes are about $2K (and going up) each year. We have a fixed mortgage, but we have a great rate about 5.6% (lucked out when combining our pre-existing mortgage and construction loan). Our monthly payment is about $1250. We pay our home insurance separately. My cousin was our loan guy and he warned us against the adjustable as it could sky rocket and there isn't much you can do other than wait for it to come back down a little and then re-finance to a fixed. He said adjustables are ok/something to consider if you do not plan to be in your home for more than a few years (and a couple other reasons that I cannot remember). Just from a personal point of view, I would stay far away from the interest only loans, unless again, you plan on being gone soon from the house you are mortgaging.
