Next door to us are the 3 houses that were built in Mount Greenwood last year (there were stories all over the news about contaminated soil). At some point in the near future they are supposed to be building four new houses (one being the house they are going to tear down behind me to build the new house). It sucked on all accounts and actually damaged our fence and soil around the foundation - which we were told it would be fixed and hasn't been.

Helicopter Crashes On Tri-State Tollway Helicopter Crashes On Tri-State Tollway Four Injured In Crash POSTED: 10:37 am CDT July 26, 2005 UPDATED: 11:14 am CDT July 26, 2005 CHICAGO -- An Illinois Department of Transportation helicopter crashed onto the Tri-State Tollway Tuesday morning. The incident occurred at about 10 a.m. on Interstate 294 near 82nd Street in suburban Chicago. IDOT officials told NBC5 that there were injuries, but no fatalities in the crash. NBC5's Mike Lorber reported that four people were inside the helicopter and that the pilot was the most seriously injured. Passing motorists stopped to help the occupants of the helicopter, NBC5 reported. Eyewitnesses said the helicopter was hovering low over the area and hit a sound barrier wall before tumbling onto the highway. No cars were involved in the accident. "At one point I thought it was going to come down and hit my car, so I slowed down and then sped up," said driver Eric Berlin, who was driving south on the highway at the time of the crash. "The pilot -- kudos to him -- did a great job of landing and not hitting any cars." The northbound lanes of the highway were completely shut down while officials investigated the scene. The IDOT helicopters are based out of Springfield, but they also have landing facilities at O'Hare Airport, Lorber reported.

Cool - I just talked to someone from Turkey! A couple weeks ago I talked to a lady in South Africa and have spoken with customers in various areas of Europe as well. Via email I have written back and forth with customers all over Asia, Europe, North America and South America. This is one cool aspect of my job.

best method of buying tickets for a ballgame?
Queen Prawn replied to IamtheHBOMB's topic in Pale Hose Talk
As long as we are talking about getting tickets to a game, is it better to order online or get them at the park? (I am going to a game on 8/5 and if I don't order before then, I will buy tickets to the 9/24 game that day.) -
I can make out most of what he is saying if I watch the interview on TV, but if I am listening on the radio, it can be a challenge, but I still pick up most of it.

My mom was 10 and listened to all the games with my grampa.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:43 PM) The Dan Ryan project goes into full swing next year. They are totally tearing it down and rebuilding it from the ground up. This year they have been redoing the ramps and bridges. It is going to be U-G-L-Y. I swear that is what they have been doing for the last 5 years lol. Seriously, it seems that the Ryan is in a perpetual state of "repair."

I don't believe there was a draft for the canceled season. From the sounds of things, yes, there are two drafts' worth of players there (but I am guessing some have dropped out - but that is a big guess - Kap could probably give a better answer). -
