  1. I was crying in the car when I heard them land - 93.9 played it live as they landed. Heck, my desktop is the shuttle landing. And people say women can't drive!
  2. I really hate the freaking Spankees. Between the umps sucking ass and the offense not getting it done, I am sick to my stomach.
  3. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) Multiple times. That's what I though. Well, he proved Ozzie's pimple comment. Assmunch (him not you lol).
  4. That was total BS. Isn't Hunter the ump that Ozzie and the Twinks got into it with?

    Colleges

I got my associates through Daley College and then my BS in EE at UIC (graduated December 2000).
  6. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 03:32 PM) The one where Fisk tagged two out at the plate. That's one of my favorites.
  7. QUOTE(The Critic @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 09:01 AM) Not going, unfortunately. I have a lot of other stuff going on in September. Ditto (I have my first fitting the following Saturday as well as my shower is some weekend in September, don't know which except that it isn't 9/24 as my mom, brother and myself will be at the game). Right now money is a little tight until we can get past this dang wedding.
  8. Most likely the Sox, but will peek at the Bears game periodically.
  9. QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) BTW, in Gale Sayers autobiography he talks about killing his family dog with a knife when the dog was too sick and they could not afford a vet. In the country, animals are put down all the time. Usually a gun shot to the head. One well placed blow, would have been equal to the fate cows have. My dad grew up on a dairy farm (which also had chickens, a few other animals, as well as growing some veggies but it was mainly a dairy farm) and talked about that as well. He said for smaller animals they would also drown them. He said it wasn't something easy to do and always broke your heart, but in the end it was either let them suffer or quick and relatively painless.
  10. Reading is a skill . . . I was just reading over directions on the maps that I am enclosing with my invites and when I looked at the heading, I swear it said "Directions to hell" rather than "Directions to hall."
  11. 8/5/05 with mom -> Mariners 4, Sox 2 Sox are 1-1 when I attend. Next game for me is 9/24 vs Minnesota (have the tickets already -> mom, brother and me!)
  12. RIP - I was shocked to hear about his death on the news this morning.
  13. I went ahead and closed this thread. Everyone has pretty much had their say and it has gone WAY over the line at this point.
  14. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 03:04 PM) I dont think MLB ever said monday thats just what most people seem to think. Okee doke - my misunderstanding.
  15. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) They have to get there chance to apeal. So if by chance which is slim to none they win the case there name is tainted for life with steriods. I figured if they were saying that they are going to announce Monday that the appeals would have happened already. Why say anything if the appeals process hasn't happened?
  16. Mine were pretty bad as well. Not because of the location, but because of the middle-aged female Cub fans next to me and behind me that barely had a clue about baseball and were more into the Cubs score (they were losing 7-1 and then when I looked next it was 9-5). My mom and I were doing this the whole game -> :banghead
  17. QUOTE(Spiff @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 01:19 PM) Yeah, over four months straight of luck. That's a nice run. LOL! Just thinking that myself!
  18. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 10:17 AM) Are the ducks invited to the wedding? As long as the little bastards quicks sqwacking "AFLACK" sure! Oh and the Hurricanes can't make the wedding so we are visiting them on our honeymoon!

    Leftovers

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) If it's something my wife made, I'll take it to work for lunch the next day. If we brring it home from a restaurant, it usually sits in the fridge for a few days and then gets tossed, not sure why. LOL! Sounds exactly like what happens in my house.
  20. LOL! I thought I was getting yelled at about something (sorry, tired - got back late from the game last night and was up early taking the car in for maintanence). Thanks for asking though. We ordered the wedding rings last weekend, ordered the last things for the center pieces, ordered the stamps for the invites (assembly will begin this week likely - just need to find someplace around here to make copies of the map) and the dress finally came in so I made my first fitting appointment. Just lots of little crap getting done now. Not really a ton else except to order the M&Ms, ribbons for the favors and a couple other things. I need to schedule the last meeting with the priest to hand in the paper work and take the "test" (some sort of multiple choice thing). It's been interesting being the go between for my mom, sister and Brian's mom (they are throwing the shower). They are cordial, but do not get along all that well. We did get some bad news yesterday though (not really wedding related). Brian's great-uncle died. It opened up some unresolved anger at his mom. I guess we shall see what happens with that (he can't make the wake because it is Monday near the Wisconsin Dells).
