  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 12, 2006 -> 10:53 AM) Too bad the hunters never caught Manbearpig. Now that is something to have a story about. IM SUPER DOOPER CEREAL
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 12, 2006 -> 12:04 AM) So, according, repeatedly, to ESPN tonight, Crash actually requested that the Phillies install some padding on that section of the fence. The padding was delivered this week, and was due for install next week. $1 says that Rowand knew he was going to do that before the padding was installed.
  3. Haha, kind of funny, on a local public broadcasting show, some girl, who stole the title of her segment from "Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story," gave props to Berman for broadcasting the NFL draft. I just laughed. Not only does he just broadcast for the first day only, but he doesn't do s*** for work. Kiper is the one that does all the work on scouting these up and coming players. Well, Hoge, Jaworski, Schlereth do too, but Kiper is THE draft guru. And she's giving props to Berman. Atleast he's a Bills fan.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 11, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) Dye: July 25, 2001: Traded by the Kansas City Royals to the Colorado Rockies for Neifi Perez. Damon: January 8, 2001: Traded as part of a 3-team trade by the Kansas City Royals with Mark Ellis to the Oakland Athletics. The Oakland Athletics sent Ben Grieve to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. The Oakland Athletics sent Angel Berroa and A.J. Hinch to the Kansas City Royals. The Tampa Bay Devil Rays sent Cory Lidle to the Oakland Athletics. The Tampa Bay Devil Rays sent Roberto Hernandez to the Kansas City Royals. Beltran: June 24, 2004: Traded as part of a 3-team trade by the Kansas City Royals to the Houston Astros. The Oakland Athletics sent Mike Wood and Mark Teahen (minors) to the Kansas City Royals. The Houston Astros sent Octavio Dotel to the Oakland Athletics. The Houston Astros sent John Buck and cash to the Kansas City Royals. And Sox fans were unhappy about the Ritchie deal...imagine that deal, twice as bad, three times over. Ouch.
  5. QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ May 11, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) Oh man thats not good. Get well soon ARow. As far as the trade Thome is just mashing and Anderson is coming around with just as good defense, but that doesn't mean you can't miss Aaron. The trade is definitley paying off, but Aaron was a great guy. Good luck on your recovery and your return Aaron. ^^^ I would venture to guess it was the hardest trade KW had to make in his tenure. Rowand is a cult hero around these parts, even as a Phillie, but it was worth it. Rowand is just balls out It's hard not to miss him...but it's not like I'm not happy
  6. That hurts like a b****. I once ran into a wooden fence, looking up at a football...let's just say it was a tie. Board broke, I had a cut nostril, bloody nose, and the bridge of my nose was cut too because I was wearing glasses that day instead of contacts. I also seem to recall having several scratches. I caught the f***ing ball though...hell yes
  7. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 11, 2006 -> 07:41 AM) He has had that avatar for quite some time. You are trying to stir the pot by acting like this. Let it alone, its a friggin picture. He doesnt sing the praises of the Indians, does he? As a little tidbit, the founder of the site had a Jobu picture in his sig for the better part of the past 8 months or so. Simply a superstition to try and jinx the Indians as far as I can tell. Unless of course Jason's a closet Indians fan, which wouldn't surprise me in the least.
  8. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ May 11, 2006 -> 01:54 PM) I disagree whole heartedly. While KC does have some very good pieces in their farm system (Alex Gordon, Billy Butler, Huber looks pretty good), they have absolutely zero pitching outside of Grienke and Sisco. And when you throw your FA money at people like Redman, Elarton, Sanders and couple it with some abysmal trades (Wood, Buck, Teahen(, it's obvious the problem isn't bad luck, it's poor management. Agreed very much. Burgos looks like he has a good arm though too. The best thing KC can do is trade absolutely anyone over the age of like 30-32 this year at the deadline for any guy that has a glimmer of hope, and build from there.
  9. QUOTE(WCSox @ May 11, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) Ah, I see. I assumed that he was a starter. You know what they say about assuming. I like it...fresh blood into the pen will be nice.
  10. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 10, 2006 -> 10:39 PM) Dude, 10-1 is an awesome f***ing record. Accoring to my math, that is a .909 winning percentage. Of course, we are 0-1 when hammerhead starts a thread about how friggin amazing we are with our regular lineup. That's a .000 winning percentage.
  11. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ May 10, 2006 -> 10:08 PM) wasn't he the one who traded Scott Kazmir to the D-Rays for one of the Zambranos? I'm not sure he's even that dumb. That was Jim Duquette. What a horrid trade that was
  12. Of course he has a shot...Contreras has a shot to be on the DL longer than what he is required to be. If he does stay up, I just hope it's not as part of the rotation.
  13. My one question is why? How does a team go from .250s-.280s to everyone in the middle of the order hitting in the .320s? Is it self-confidence? Is it expectations? Is Jim Thome THAT good?
  14. QUOTE(TLAK @ May 8, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) Probably one hat that they pass around. So that's where my other hat went. Makes sense I guess.
  15. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 29, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) BAH! Theres nothing worse in the world than a great athelete who just won't quit when he knows he's done for. About the only guy I recall who went out on top was Elway. Jerome Bettis too...annoucing his retirement during the Superbowl celebration.
  16. QUOTE(Wolverine31 @ May 6, 2006 -> 11:59 PM) Todd Jones is just not going to get it done. I know he has a large salary, but he should be pitching mop up IMO. Agreed. I have no idea why Dombrowski brought him back to Detroit...the guy had a good year last year, big effin deal. I am going to go based on his entire career, which has been quite mediocre overall. Kenny Rogers has surprised the hell out of me though. I don't know how this guy keeps going. That has been a very nice signing. I am quietly hoping both you and Cleveland are in it towards the end, as well as Minnesota...not sure about anyone else, but I would love to see a great division race this year, and for years to come for that matter.
  17. I hate the Yankee-Sawx coverage way more than Bonds. Yankees-Sawx seems like it's a friggin hollywood something or another, getting the latest scoop on who's in and who's not. I absolutely hate the uppity way the Yanks and Sawx players go about the game, thinking they are superior to all because they get all the attention, and how their rivalry is everything in sports. I mean, talking to Larry Bowa and seeing what it's like in person? WTF is that? Looks like baseball to me. The Yankees-Sawx rivalry is not only the the most overrated rivalry in sports, but just the most overrated thing, in general, in sports today. I can't think of anything else that puts me to sleep faster than Yanks- Sawx. Atleast with Bonds, there's justification for so much coverage, about to pass a milestone home run mark. People like to see history happen, and people feel that passing 714 is history...I'd agree. Plus, Bonds has handled all this pressure amazingly well. I would be surprised as hell if anyone else under these same circumstances didn't crack under the pressure and just plain quit. I don't consider myself a fan of Bonds, and I could care less either way as to whether or not he breaks the record, but I have a lot of respect for the man.
  18. QUOTE(thedoctor @ May 8, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) they hold the single-season championships record for 2005. Yesss Also tied the best mark ever in the postseason, and also tied the longest postseason winning streak in the same year...8 games(Boston set it the year before)
  19. Before 2005, I saw 1 White Sox hat that I remember, other than mine. I have seen atleast 10 since then. That's like half the people in North Dakota.

    WOW

    QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ May 7, 2006 -> 09:35 PM) How is it complicated? BMags is a complicated person.
  21. QUOTE(Jim Spencer @ Apr 29, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) My most memorable HR (games I was at) had to be Joe Crede's Walk-Off against Cleveland last September. Birth of THE Rally Crede.
  22. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 6, 2006 -> 06:39 PM) I don't know if you realized this, but you have a hole in your pants. That stuff must be ok in the Dakotas. Lol, ya, I realized there was a hole in my jeans...they were actually for a different shoot, which was, coincidentally, me with a white Hanes shirt and those pants. Gray photos, look pretty cool...but I didn't have any other pants, and they promised me that all the other shots were going to be from the waist up...they lied. QUOTE(Young Gun @ May 6, 2006 -> 06:51 PM) Another reason why I hate those clothing brands. Why do people spend like $50 bucks for pants with paint stains and that are ripped? And no, this is not just intended towards you Blake. I of course did not buy those pants like that, I bought the pants in actual pants form. I loved that pair of pants to friggin death, but I wore a hole in them and they just died. That was like that last time I have worn those.
  23. The pic that made me "famous"... And a more recent during my senior photoshoot...
  24. QUOTE(ThinWhiteDuque @ May 6, 2006 -> 01:02 PM) Sorry, I was just being a smartass...I should have written that statement in green. I just asked, because if you were talking about the Mariners, you would have been right. He went 2 for 9 with the M's in like 9 games, and went 3 for 5 in his first game with the Marlins.
