  1. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ May 12, 2005 -> 11:47 PM) I'm not sure Dusty could even name their starting 5. He can sure as hell f*** all their arms up though
  2. QUOTE(Fotop @ May 15, 2005 -> 02:15 AM) $11 million contract means that there is no way in hell that Wood will close. It just a waste of cash. Combine that with having to pitch multiple days in a row, and I doubt Wood will be closing anytime soon. Who knows how Wood would respond to pitching nearly everyday...and to me, they're stuck because with his track record I don't think his arm could hold up. How much better spent is this $11 mill putting up a s***ty ERA and not doing well in the rotation or sitting on the DL?
  3. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 15, 2005 -> 01:48 AM) True, but Glendon Rusch has actually been pitching better than Carrie, even as a starter. How many blown saves do the Flubs have this season? It wouldn't be a bad idea... except for the fact that Carrie typically gets rocked in the 1st inning. He is usually wild early on and tends to walk a couple guys in the 1st. Hence the warmup in the pen
  4. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 15, 2005 -> 01:03 AM) Frank should jack up our team OBP a great deal just by himself. Having him in the lineup should also help Konerko. Interesting that you are to bring this up. Thomas played in 74 games - roughly half the season. Konerko's splits from last year Pre All-Star - .296-.384/.567/.951 Post All-Star - .258-.333/.502/.835 A 115 point difference in OPS is very, very sizeable. Thomas will help this offense in many more ways than 1.
  5. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 14, 2005 -> 12:44 AM) I would have traded Willie and Adkins in a second for Jose Guillen. I'd rather have Guillen in RF than Dye right about now and Ozuna could just fill Willie's role. Adkins is in Charlotte anyways so he wouldn't really be missed. I would have too You can look that up too. I was one of the biggest backers as far as acquiring Guillen was concerned.
  6. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 14, 2005 -> 01:03 AM) Dang it I was hoping for Natalie Portman or Elisha Cutbhert. >
  7. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 14, 2005 -> 12:39 AM) But you want to be scoring TD's, not FG's when you get in the red zone anyways. and when you don't, you want to get some points out of it at the very least
  8. I was bored Frank Thomas = Laetitia Casta Dustin Hermanson = Christina And Paul Konerko will be joining me and Willie
  9. QUOTE(knightni @ May 13, 2005 -> 11:20 PM) New sig! A banner would be better, I personally feel
  10. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 13, 2005 -> 08:15 PM) Not true.....See "2004 Cleveland Indians" but then again, that was a bad team with a bunch of All-Stars. But ur probably right, 2001 Mariners had like 3543 all-stars. Victor Martinez Ronnie Belliard Jake Westbrook There is really no argument against any of those players being all-stars last year And, in 2000, the Sox had the most wins at the break. They had 3 All-Stars, one of whom was not Frank Thomas, due to it being in an NL park...so in reality, they had 4, because Thomas was an All-Star, he was just not on the All-Star team. 4 All-Stars for the best team in baseball = not a lot There is no guarantee that we will have a lot. Hell, we were leading the AL Central last year, and we had 1 All-Star, if memory serves correct - that being Esteban Loaiza, and why he was an All-Star still leaves me clueless.
  11. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 13, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) I'll swap ya for the time difference. F that vegemite sucks
  12. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 13, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) I just posted that because I wanted to see people's reactions. But seriously on Brian, anything further out than 40yards, he's going to struggle to make. Isn't it better to have essentially a guarantee 3 when you get down inside the 25 than to have a guy that can kick it 55 yards but can't make s***?
  13. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 13, 2005 -> 08:19 PM) Adam Scott's better. Tiger is better in all aspects Better golfer, hawter wife, cooler name Adam Scott, please sit down
  14. QUOTE(joeynach @ May 13, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) Levine just said Everett wont be ready for a couple of days, willie is DH tonite. With Gload looking like he still needs another DL stint we seriously need to add someone to the bench. As of right now we have 3 bench players in Timo, Widger, Ozuna; thats is not enough at all. Widger is a god
  15. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 13, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) Ah....How fast things change .... :rolly It was only yesterday that 90% of Sox fans used to boo Jon (and that includes 90% of the folks here) and call him arrogant and a jerk for bashing fans. You know, I absolutely hate this kind of 'see, I told you so' attitude. s*** has changed. Garland was a s***ty pitcher before. He WAS arrogant, and he WAS a jerk for bashing fans, considering he is sitting here giving up 6 runs a game. And he wondered why we were b****ing. Sox fans, as a whole, want you to produce to the best of your abilities. If you do not, they will grow unhappy with you very quickly. With all that being said, Garland is a different pitcher this year from year's past. His stuff looks better. He is hitting his spots more often. He is pitching well enough to win each game...be that eating innings and giving up a few runs, or be it bearing down and giving up 2 runs in 8 innings against the best offense in baseball when your offense will only score you 3 runs. He has gone from a look of carelessness to a look of quiet confidence. His entire demeanor has changed on the mound, and you can see that, considering he already has 7 wins, more than half of the most wins he has had in any season, and the amount of wins he has had in the past 3 seasons, in just 7 starts. We were wrong. Who gives a s***? Be happy that we are wrong and be glad that we were not right. (and technically, it was not yesterday that 90% of Sox fans were calling him that, it was last year when he had an ERA of 4.80+ and was a mediocre pitcher) /rant off
  16. f***in' work Hopefully FG is teh manz and he is like, biznatchlez, shut the f*** up and sit the f*** down mofos
  17. Because, while he is a good player, if Jose Guillen is the face of your franchise, you have problems. Not saying I wouldn't take him - I was one of the biggest supporters of getting him, especially since it would have cost us like maybe Willie Harris and Jon Adkins - just saying he has been known to have been a problem in the clubhouse before, and I don't think KW would f*** with that with the way this team is gelling.
  18. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 13, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) Does anyone think we could have one of the best 1-2 punches in all of baseball with Podsednik and Iguchi? Podsednik: .380 OBP Iguchi: .364 OBP It's like we have our own version of Juan Pierre and Luis Castillo. How about Ray Durham and Jose Valentin of 2000, minus May and September? Ray Durham Jose Valentin
  19. And of course Greasy has to post it in the Under the Radar thread Oh well, still deserves its own thread IMO
  20. http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/news/story?id=2059700 Haha
  21. QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ May 13, 2005 -> 04:07 PM) He's dead. Or at the very least, very, very, very raw
  22. QUOTE(soxfan420 @ May 13, 2005 -> 03:52 PM) your crazy it takes 7-10 days ive used kits similar to this and they work great, im not naming my product(because still like using it) but they do work and they are 40 bucks and you can get it down the street at the store. So my 8th grade health teacher was a f***in dumbass. I should have figured when she said that marijuana was an extremely addictive drug. Bottom of page Normally, being pwned by a stoner would hurt, but in this instance, it is the knowing informing the unknowing
  23. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ May 13, 2005 -> 03:39 PM) This bunch owns a 26-9 record. Best in the majors. In the race for homefield adv in the ALCS the O's are 3.5 gb of the White Sox. Race for homefield advantage in May. Wow
  24. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 13, 2005 -> 03:37 PM) Honestly, no one right now. What I would do is have Buehrle, Garcia, Duque, Garland & Contreras pitch. Or I'd have two of the pitchers split a game. Have El Duque go half of the game, then Contreras the other half. I think Contreras would be worse off out of the pen. He's been doing fine. I don't care about walks. I care about runs and wins. Contreras has only had 1 bad game. The rest, he's given the team a chance to won. 2 bad games and 1 mediocre performance. Otherwise, he has allowed 1 run in every outing. Two bad ones have been... 4.2 IP, 6 H, 2 ER(3 R), 4 BB and 2 K against Minny on 4-18(104 pitches) 5 IP, 5 H, 4 ER(4 R), 5 BB, and 3 K against TB on 5-10(91 pitches) His mediocre one was against Cleveland... 6.2 IP, 5 H, 4 ER(4 R), 5 BB, 3 K on 4-7(96 pitches) So ya
  25. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 13, 2005 -> 12:53 PM) Is Ozzie afraid to use Harris as a CF'er? I don't recall, he wasn't that bad playing as CF'er last season, was he? Reason I ask, is because he's been (arguably) our best player off the bench, and I don't see the big deal in moving Harris to center and Rowand to right for one game... Since Everett is still hurting, that probably means Timo plays in left tonight, huh? Yuck, hopefully I don't see him on Sunday... Kenny Lofton like out there, post GG era. IIRC, he does not read balls off the bat real well, but has god-given ability to make up for that. Also, his arm is very weak for CF. Playing in CF now and then would not kill him, but playing in CF as an everyday player is not so hawt.
