Never have watched the show. Can't say I like her or that I hate her. Maybe me never watching the shows is how I hate her???

Two things come up in this post. 1. Who says we have good OF prospects? We have Reed who seems to be a very good prospect, and then Borchard who has struggled the past two years. Then we have several young guys in rookie ball and A ball that were drafted within the past year and a half whom we have no idea how they'll turn out. IMO, we're not strong in that department, but could be within the next year or two. 2. Another point brought up is what is Maggs value? Is he worth Perez and a top prospect? Mota as well? more then that even? not even that? I personally can't say. He makes $14 mill, is coming off a somewhat down year(though still a good year), but has had seasons in the past where he's hit .310 with 35 homers and 130 RBI(that's actually just around the average of 2000-2002), and he's even stolen 25 bases at a time too. You have to take a lot into consideration, and is why the Dodgers(mainly Evans) has been so cautious to make a move.
-
Lol Anyways, does this mean that Dan Evans will probably be fired? If not, good, then KW can get back at him for Berry-Barry; if he is though, damn.

Be happy it's not -16 like it is here. Hell, our average high was been double digits below 0 over the past week. I'm thankful I don't live in International Falls....I saw the other day that it was like -45 there the other day. I'm happy enough that it is supposed to be above 0 by this weekend. I am looking forward to 5 degree highs. I'll actually be able to go outside then.

I think(or atleast I hope) that part of this deal would be that this guy/girl(depending on if you are male or female and if your partner would be male or female), is disease free. If this is an agreement, I would get a contract and all the works out and part of this contract would be that this person I would have sex with is disease free. And if it is a complete stranger, I would ask that I never have to see them again. Now, if all of the above is true, that this guy were disease free, yes I would. I don't give a s*** what people would think of me, I'd be friggin rolling in money and if I did it when it were legal for me to do it(a few years from now), and I put half of this million in the bank, I'd be filthy f***ing rich by the time I hit 30 and my kid was just a toddler You'll be walking funny for a little bit, but that will go away.
-
Yeah but what was the temp? See up here, it's not only 20 below every day we also have gotten about 1-3 inches each day for what seems like the past week. You wanna shovel snow when it's -20 outside with the wind blowing the snow back in your face? Didn't think so.

Another coach is out in the EAST

You don't like Ainge's brain-typing(or whatever the hell Kornheiser and Wilbon call it on PTI)? I wouldn't either. -
I don't know about anyone else, but that scares the s*** out of me. I'd rather get .235 25 70 with 20 errors and 120 strikeouts while watching a guy try to hit right handed and end up hitting .065 then watch Uribe have an OBP under .300 and wonder what the hell will happen. I just don't like the idea of Uribe as the starting SS. Jose will be gone after this year anyways, not a big deal.
-
Whether it helps or not, they do have a good manager as well during this time, something we did not have.
-
That sounds terrible, don't forget to bundle up
-
Just curious here, say we hypothetically trade Jose for a bag of balls to a random team(KW trades him to the Dodgers, thinks he's getting Edwin Jackson, and actually gets Edward Jones or some s*** like that). Then who the hell plays SS? That is all
-
They are a good team because they were good last year and improved themselves in the offseason. If Juan Gone stays healthy, he's good for .300 35 120, and that's just a little bit of an improvement over Raul Ibanez's .280 25 100 numbers. Meanwhile, we do nothing to improve ourselves in losing Colon, Gordon, et al, and doing very little to help replace the lost players. I think the Twins win the division, Royals finish 2nd(because of a lack in depth of pitching, not because they don't have good enough pitching), while we finish in 3rd, Cleveland in 4th, and Detroit finishes last, though they'll improve by 20-25 games. And as I've said before, I think that no matter what we do, Thomas is gone after this season, because at this point, it is not about the money, it is about being in a somewhat comfortable situation without having his manager and GM taking shots at him left and right and making a private situation public.

I'll gladly take this over 40 straight 100+ degree days. We'll get to 100 and once every 10-15 years 110 degrees, but it's mostly 75-85 all summer. And winter isn't bad when it isn't snowing once every 4 hours and the temperature isn't below 0(like it is right now....WeatherBug says -5, and we've gotten down to about -25 here too....too f***ing cold, that's frostbite cold if you're not careful or are stupid) BTW, just thought I'd tell a story. Today in the morning the wind chill got down to -40 so it was colder then s*** outside. Today was also Hawaiian day at school. You factor those two things in plus the fact that there are always idiots in the crowd, and we have dumbasses coming into the school with shorts and sandals on. Can someone explain to me what would drive a person to do such a dumbass thing?

I too think the same thing. However, if Rivers falls to Miami in the second round, I think they snatch him up and make him into the future QB. I highly doubt that happens. If Pittsburgh doesn't trade up to get Roethlisberger(which is highly, highly unlikely), and Rivers gets to them, I could see them taking him, or if he falls to Buffalo, I see them taking him and grooming him as the future QB. Steve, he may not have the same magic, but is he not better then Fiedler and Griese?
-
I think he'll be taken on the first day. I think he'll go somewhere between the Dolphins 1st round pick and the Packers 2nd round pick(meaning anywhere from the 20th to the 45th overall pick).

Lack of experience usually does more bad then good, as you say. I remember in the 2002 World Series when Chone Figgins was used as a pinch runner that he made many bad mistakes running the bases. To make those mistakes, you don't need to just pinch run, all you need to do is get on base. Also, watching Jacque Jones a couple years ago in those same playoffs, you saw what an inexperienced player can do. I remember watching him, and he just killed the Twins offensively, constantly striking out. In Jones's entire playoff career(which is only 3 series or 14 games), he has a .161 average, and he has struck out 17 times, including 12 of those coming in the 2002 playoffs, and 8 of those 12 coming in the ALDS against Oakland, and that's the one I watched the most. That's only one of the reasons why someone could and should be brought in to help us at 2B.

Thank you....I knew it was some kind of last name like that, couldn't think of it. I do agree, I like watching tennis a lot more then golf. It's not my favorite sport in the world, hell, it's not even close, but it is fun to watch at times.

He'll just make individual tapes for us. Just send $9.95 plus S+H($7.95) to cwsox's house, somewhere-in-Michigan, ah hell, I don't know where he lives. Good to hear cw. Atta kid

Brando or Dabby or someone else who knows something about tennis....help me real quick Who was the guy who Agassi came back from a 2 set deficit to win the French Open and complete the career grand slam? The guy's name is on the tip of my tongue, and I can't spit it out.

Both would make sense for the Falcons, and both would make sense for the Bills and Steelers. In the Bills trade, the Falcons get a solid WR(Reed is nothing great, but will be a solid WR in the NFL), and the 13th overall pick, without giving up any players. In the Steelers trade, they get a receiver with much more talent who had a down year, but also have to give up one of their two solid running backs, which really doesn't matter all that much, and they get the 11th overall pick as well. All I will say is that I bet Atlanta trades down, and that a receiver is in the deal. Whether it be to Buffalo or Pittsburgh or even another team....I do think they will trade though. Also, WHarris13, I see the Bills taking a CB in the 2nd or 3rd round, maybe even the 4th, or getting one via FA. I personally think the Bills will draft a receiver of some type, whether it be Winslow, Troupe, or Reggie Williams, hell, I could even see them trading down a little and taking Clayton out of LSU(I don't think he's top 15 material, but I think there's a shot he could sneak into the top 20....I wouldn't bet on that though). I also think they'll take a QB at some point in the draft, maybe Matt Schaub out of Virginia, Josh Harris out of Bowling Green, Jeff Smoker, John Navarre, etc....someone like that. So if they take their QB in the 2nd, I'd look for a CB in the 3rd, and if they take a CB in the 2nd, I'd look for a QB in the 3rd.

I could see a .260 15 60 season from Aaron, or a .280 25 85 season from Aaron with a respectable OPS. It just depends on what happens. Anyways, for my order, it's 1. Rowand - I think he's going to have a solid year at the plate 2. Konerko - will return more to his 2000-2002 form, and this will be the last that the White Sox see of this .230 s*** 3a. Crede - I think he'll make more progress as well, with a higher batting average and more power, as well as some pretty good defensive plays. 3b. Harris - I really think Willie will play much better with Ozzie as manager. Ozzie will preach of style of baseball that Harris will flourish in. I see him putting up .250-.275, and that's a hugh improvement over what he's done the past 2 years. 5. Olivo - he'll regress, but will start to get it later on. I'll say that our biggest question mark is not listed and has not been listed so far. Our biggest question mark, both literally and physically, IMO, is Frank Thomas. Does he show up to play, pissed, and maybe looking for a deal in FA, and he knocks the s*** out of the ball, or does he "pout" and play like s***? I personally have no idea whatsoever. I hope it's the former, but who the hell knows?
-
I said other just for the hell of it. Maybe Grilli or Garland end up closing. Who the hell knows?

11 full seasons in the majors, all with the Yankees. It would be shot down by Bernie. Ain't happening. It looks OK, but it wouldn't happen, solely because of Bernie Williams.

I'll take the Bills
-
I tend to disagree with your pick of Chris Gamble for the Bills. People are thinking Mularkey will want to draft a receiver(whether it be a TE or a WR). I think they are a team that could trade up. Personally, I feel it depends on what the Redskins do. If they feel Rod Gardner is a good enough compliment to Coles(which I think they will do), they'll draft Winslow. However, if not, I think they'll take Roy Williams, leaving Kellen Winslow available. At that point, I think Buffalo is a candiate to trade up to get Winslow. I think it's very possible that the Bills would trade Josh Reed and their first round pick to Atlanta for the #7 pick overall, and then select Winslow. I doubt that kind of thing happens, so if it doesn't happen, I see them either taking Reggie Williams out of Washington or trading down and taking Ben Troupe out of Florida. I do not think they take a CB though.
