Did you see Carlos's blunder in LF? Ball hit right over his head....should be easily caught. His first steps towards the ball were in. You learn in little league that, if you don't know where the ball is, your first steps are always back.
-
Get one of those cardboard cutouts like they had in Major League...that'd work wonders!!!
-
You know....when I saw that double on Baseball Tonight....I just thought to myself "Did that just f***ing happen? I thought Carlos had improved defensively." I suppose we will lose this game somehow, someway because of Jose Valentin though....even with Carlos's s***ty-ass defense.

Jose realizes that he is not as good a hitter as Frank, Maggs, et al. However, he is the leader of the clubhouse, and until they start producing the way they should, I'm perfectly fine with him hounding on them. He is the leader of the team for a reason, isn't he? Frank, Maggs, Loz, and DJ don't do that because they aren't the LEADER of the team. Guys with good stats don't have to motivate their teammates....they don't have to do that kind of s***. The leader does that....and the leader does NOT have to be the manager. BTW....how many SS's in major league history have hit .350 40 ***(however many RBI) while playing flawless defense? If your answer in letter form starts out with anything other than a word that starts with 'z', you should rethink your position

I'll give you Garland but i dont want to give up on Rauch yet. i say Garland/Lee(or harris lol). then we could put Beltran in CF and Borchard in LF (i would prefer RF but maggs is there). The Royals are asking for prospects at CF, 3B and 2B, we aren't going to get Beltran for any crappy guys. We are talking about a farm system buster kind of guy here. They aren't getting a good 3B, 2B, and CF prospect for Beltran. No team can give up that much and still be considered an organization run by completely sane people. That would be a trade worse than the Ritchie trade. Something like what we got for Colon will be worked out. Not those types of players....but that kind of deal....one where it the best offer just comes and the Royals trade him. That best offer could be, IMO, Garland, Rauch, and Reed....they get one solid pitcher with talent...one injured goods prospect who can still be great....and a future CFer. Maybe I don't give them Rauch....that's questionable. I do give them Garland and Reed though....and then (if I may quote cerb) "make Webster god." He becomes the CFer of the future. I would also consider a Jimenez, Garland, and Reed deal...they get 2 of their 3 needs filled....and we get our guy...and we then use Miles and Harris(just whoever is playing the best) at 2B.

HAPPY f***IN BIRTHDAY!

cw...I thought you out of anyone would know this....but stats are only half the picture. You need to see him before you can judge. I personally think MJ was a great backup catcher....he can handle the bat, work a count, steal a base, get down a bunt, hit sac flys, gets runners over and on top of that, he calls a good game and has a good arm. In a nut shell....he is very fundamentally sound player. He'll just never hit for a good average, unless you consider a .240 average(at most) good. Out of all of those....how many can be put into stat form? I'd say....at most....6 of the 8....and that is even stretching. I counted stealing an occassional base, handling the bat(as in not K'ing), working a count(getting walks), and having a good arm(his CS percentage).....so, that could be 2 of 8 or 3 of 8 as well. If you looked at just stats....you'd say that Mark Johnson is a very, very s***ty catcher. When you watch him....you see a totally different player.....one that would make a very, very good backup catcher. IMO....MJ is a great backup catcher....one of the best in the league. He is a very, very s***ty starting catcher.

As have I

You weren't hammered by me

Because Lofton is an asshat in CF who f***ed any chance we had last year to win anything at all by just giving up in June and not taking BP....he took a difference stance then most teammates in the meetings last year....and I don't think anyone wants to go down that road again. If that f***ing douchebag gets anywhere near The Cell next year, I'm gonna strangle someone.
-
Yeah..... and if it wasn't for PK's HR and RBI single, Carlos' HR wouldn't have done anything but bring the White Sox to within one. Don't single out one player when last nights win was a complete TEAM effort Thank you. Some of us forget to mention stuff like this. Didn't Graffy also homer? Without his homer.....Carlos's homer only ties the game up, and we continue playing. In a game like we had this past Sunday against Minny when Jose Valentin hits a 2-run homer and we score 2 runs the entire game....then you can talk about one guy keeping us in the game.
-
Not Minnehaha ....it is Minnesota....very big difference. Minnehaha is the most populated county in South Dakota....with the city of Sioux Falls in it(which was at one time the friendliest city in America, and that vote was tallied by a major magazine, not sure which). Minnesota is a state filled with hicks and dumbasses who like to go backtrolling for walleye, can't keep sports teams, and try to sell marijuana to sheriffs of cities. Please don't give good South Dakotans bad names like that. Let's just all be friends. Except with Minnesotans.

I got a Keith Foulke autographed hat(bought it over Ebay)..my first ticket stub from my first baseball game ever(and boy do I hate the pictures from that game). Also...I have a Spam shirt. Just got SPAM in big, bold, yellow letters across the front....and then an advertisement for Minnesota Lottery on the back. Got that at a Twins-Sox game in Minnesota in 2000.
-
Damn, and here I was hoping you were going to talk about canned Spam.
-
I'd agree. If I could f*** around corners....even at my young age....I wouldn't be talking to you guys. I'd be filming myself f***ing around corners.
-
We've tried to fight Murphy's Law....and Murphy's Law always kicks our ass. Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong.
-
He's just error prone.
-
HSC....I bet it's hard as hell to f*** at a 90* angle.
-
Highly doubtful. If Maggs has numbers anywhere close to what he did last year and the break...and Scoscia doesn't bring him in....I'm going to be one pissed motherf***er. That was complete and utter bulls*** that he was not in it last year...that 30th man voting thing was stupid as f***ing hell....kept guys like Giles, Ordonez, Chavez, and Thome out....and Johnny f***ing Damon got voted in.
-
cw.....when do we figure Rowand will be totally healed from his injury? A month from now? 2 months? A year? Never? That is a question too large to answer. I say we bring in Matthews..send down Harris...and if Matthews blows in CF, and Rowand is ripping the cover off the ball in AAA....Matthews is out of here.
-
Not necessarily. If I remember correctly....we have a fairly easy July schedule, but a very tough August schedule. June is going to be tough for both the Twins and Sox.....but I believe the Twins have a tough July, and a slack August....while we have the opposite. If MB steps up in August....we could actually be in contention in September.
-
Maybe. All I know is that I'd rather see him out there patrolling CF instead of Harris.
-
Just wondering cw....would you rather run a random choice of Harris, Rios, or Rowand out there on a day-to-day basis, or would you rather go with a guy that we know will be in the lineup because he has solid defense and a good arm, with decent power, even if he hits like s***? I'd choose the latter personally....especially considering it is a very small risk.
-
The kids got an arm, he's left handed and he has some offensive talent. The kind of guy that could really help this team get on a roll. If we're not going to call up Borchard sign him already, he'd our answer currently for CF. CWSOX45 Maybe all he needs is a little protection to get going. I mean...look at the teams he's been with. The Cubbies....whose offense f***ing blew last year....the Pirates...who had a worse offense then even the Cubbies....and Baltimore....whose offense has never been good. He'd definately find protection in the Sox lineup, even if it is struggling. You put Matthews between Frank, Maggs, Carlos, Paully K and who not else....and he could hit .260 20 70 or so. Those would be incredible numbers....and he would be our answer to Torii Hunter
