Zach....as long as you are cheap, I'm sure JR and KW will be happy to have you on the roster. They may even bring in Miss Dorito in your avatar..... Top models? Deep fried fat and porn and all that stuff? Hell, I'll sign with the Sox if I get those kinds of things! Anyways....save me a funnel cake from your contract...I want to see what it feels like to eat a funnel cake that was given to you for pitching in a baseball game.

Lorenzo Barcelo also came out of the Giants system and was a true stud. Now he's a stud no where but....wait a second. He's not a stud anymore. I hope Diaz isn't that kind of stud....he's had injury problems in the past.

Jas....you are forgetting one major thing here. Just because a team doesn't have home court advantage doesn't mean they don't have the referee advantage. Damn, I still can't get over that Bibby getting elbowed in the nose and then having a foul called on him last year....complete bulls*** and the worst call I've ever seen in basketball. As you can tell, I'm not a big basketball fan!

No you're not.....I get things mixed up that look a like too. Like one time, at this golf course, I saw a weiner that looked like a hot dog. I bought it and took a bite out of it and realized it was a Polish sausage. It was still good, but it wasn't like a hot dog. I really don't know what the point of that story was, but I think you get the picture that just because you get something as stupid as that mixed up doesn't mean you're an idiot. To make this post cooler.... CUBS SUCK!!!

The one with the goatee? I know that's Matt Clement Atleast 2 things give it away. 1) He's throwing over-handed with his right-hand. We all know that Kelly is a lefty-submarine specialist. 2) See the red bill of his cap, and then the little red 'C' on it? I'm pretty sure that 'C' doesn't stand for White Sox.

I like it....except for one thing(aside from what's already been mentioned(Sox in second slot))....on the Chisport logo, not only is there nothing that gets even close to resembling anything or anyone on the Sox, but it shows Flubby fanny Matt Clement in the middle of it. IS THERE ANY POSSIBLE WAY YOU CAN CHANGE THAT? Atleast could you get something Sox on it?

Agreed....with Jose and Caballo leaving after this year(presumably), that will free up $9 mill....so if we acquire Colon, that still gives us a little room to work with(though I believe Maggs goes from $9 mill this year to $14 mill next year, and than he's a FA...we better as hell resign him). Let me think about this for a second here......Jose and Caballo are gone after next year...as I already said. Osuna is gone too....so that's about $11.5 or $12 mill or something like that gone next year. Get Buehrle for $1,000,000 and then Maggs' salary increases by $5 million....that takes up about half of it. Unless we sign Koch to a bigger deal, than he will get a lot in arbitration as well...which will probably take up about $5 mill or so....which leaves us at approximately $2 mill left. From here, we have two options: 1) Hope Frank gets out of his deal after this year 2) Dish out more money to resign Colon I'd say that we better as hell hope we win a s***load this year and get a hell of a lot of money....or else we could be feeling the feeling we had from 1995-1999 again.

No....Arn Tellum is though. See, his name is Michaelangelo Deportenaldes....but he just goes by Mike Dep....but when he heard that Tellum was the agent of a lot of big-name guys, he decided to hire him. With him being in the 10-12 year old range, he didn't understand the big name concept quite yet.

I will pitch for some porn, a PS2, and some Mountain Dew. During last year's season ticket holder party I stood behind second base and hit huge's glove on a fly as he stood on the warning track in left-center field. I'm working on dropping 30 lbs. before my team's season starts. Last year I still had some good stuff, but my fat-ass wilted in the heat and I fell apart after 3 innings. My 36-year-old arm has something left in it. Zach...the only advantage he's got on you is that he's younger....and he doesn't wear meat hats. He even chews aluminum foil now and then. Hey....I got an idea. Let's spend a little extra and sign both! We could get a combined 5 innings between the two of you on a good night. I'm sure some of that 50 cents KW had left from his $1.00 went to buying some good porno...I bet he knows where to get some good stuff for the both of you.

BOO-YAH! 4 FOR 4! Actually, it's nothing to get too hyped about....but it's pretty cool anyways.

Good point....how many big sports networks even hinted at the possibility of Billy Koch getting traded to Chi-town? NONE. Maybe he is....we got hope. Hell, that's all we got is hope.

Killa....as much as I hate to agree with you...I'm afraid I may have to. However, with the signing of Wilson, that means that one less team is in the Colon race....so right now, the only 3 teams I see that have a shot at Colon are Boston, Texas and us.....Texas probably won't, as they are strapped payroll wise....so that leaves it as us against Boston. Holy s***....if we can't get Colon over Boston, with all the talent we have that is cheap....I am going to be pissed like no other....Boston couldn't match our offer without getting worse in the end. God I hope KW can get something done....but Killa....I'm afraid your sig may be right.

I just recently read an article on the two lefties that were good last year that are up for free agency this year, or in the condensed version, Chuck Finley and Kenn Rogers. Though Finley is older, he's the better buy right now....if we lose out on the Colon race, than Finley would be the guy I want. And as for the read....it basically said that Rogers hardly struck out anyone last year....he had a s***ty K's per 9 last year....generally, when that happens, you will struggle the next year....but Finley had 8 some K's per 9.....and when you do that, than means you will not struggle as much. I could see Finley putting up a 13-15 win season with an ERA of around 4.25 or so for us....I'd take that. The only problem is that he's never won a postseason game....he got close this past year, but after he left the game, Arizona tied it back up, and then St. Louis went on to win.

Gammons says Sox will be 1 of surprise teams
witesoxfan replied to spataro51's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm not so sure about 3-and-out....we'd get a possible win with Buehrle, and if Wright pitched out of his mind(which he can do) and Garland pitched decently, we'd have a shot in a 5-gamer. It was way different in 2000....we were not a very healthy team. If that team was healthy, it would have won it all. Regardless, I wish we could get Colon....that would be damn nice. -
I think that Indians game was last year
-
Reds sign Wilson Goddamn it....why couldn't we have signed him? This pisses me off....KW better get somebody better than Jeff Suppan or Rick Helling or Robert Person...I'm gonna be pissed if he doesn't.

Heather: The reason everyone is so pessimistic about it is because of the fact that we've really expressed no interest in them publicly....the statistics prove that we can afford it and we have the kind of stuff we can give up to get one of the two of them. This is the Sox....even if we did get Colon, the players union would probably strike because the Yankees are listening to the new labor agreement and have their payroll at around $160 million or so. Hell, we'll probably be one out away and then KW will come forward and say he cheated....they'll find a way to screw it up. They'll probably have a deal in the making and KW will ask for a prospect and the Expos will nix it at the last second. I want Colon as much as anyone....but I'm not sure we can get him.
-
No....I think the manager uses who he wants to...but that's a guess. I know they don't vote on DH though.
-
I watched it on TV, I was alone and I really don't keep scorecards. I figured when we went up 9-4, that it was over....but I kept the game on. After seeing his double that nearly went out, I called the shot....a little while later I saw we were down....so I figured we were going to lose. By the end of the day, I saw Thomas rounding around the bases and the Sox winning. My memories aren't clear, but I did remember that much.
-
Let's hope we can keep him....he's a FA after 2004.
-
Not that I'm backing this up or anything, because I didn't see the play....but Allen Iverson does this kind of s*** all the time. He'll get barely touched when he's shooting and fall on his ass and try to sell it. I think he looks like a moron doing it and I laugh every time he does. I think he needs more PRACTICE at it.

I'm not willing to let go of Crede for anything, unless it is Vazquez, Colon and Vidro....we waited 5 and a half years for this kid to get up here and then we are going to deal him as a throw in for a possible rent-a-pitcher? I want KW to s*** or get off the pot, but not if Crede is coming out. If we traded for Joe Randa like right now, I wouldn't mind it so much....Randa's a decent hitter who would hit .290 15-20 75-85 in our lineup at 3B....and he kills us every time we play them. Why not? Trade Dave Sanders and Jon Adkins for Joe Randa and then Crede, Biddle and Stewart for Colon and Vazquez....that's fine with me.

YASNY: In AL parks, they use the DH....and in an All-Star game, both teams are going to have a big, powerful DH, making the matchups very even. But in NL parks, the NL uses pitchers in the #9 spot and the AL would also have to use a pitcher in that spot. AL pitchers hardly ever hit in the lineup, except for 9 games a year or so. Regardless, with the style they have now, there are a lot of double switches from both teams in the All-Star game when it is in an NL park....there would be just as many if we switched it up a little. I rarely ever see a pitcher bat in the All-Star game, if I ever do. I don't think that would be as big a problem as we think.

So then they have to agree on something there....OK

The September 3rd game is the one that sticks out in my mind from the 2000 season. I remember it because I knew Frank was going to homer that day. After he got one of his doubles, I said "He's going to hit a homer today." Later that day....well, you know the story!
