Holcombe is like Chad Pennington....only problem is, you really need a lot of receivers for that to work....around 4-5 decent ones with 1-2 of those being good....Quincy Morgan and Dennis Northcutt are both pretty good receivers....so they will need 2-3 decent receivers....they can use both running backs and their tight end....along with backups....maybe it could work, and then they'd occasionally go for the long ball. The Bears should do that....trade their first round pick of 2004 and maybe a 2nd or 3rd round pick of 2005 for Tim Couch....they could then concentrate on getting a very good receiver first....Charlie Rogers or someone like that. Maybe they could get a running back to replace A-Train, who sucked ass this year.....which brings up the point of "If only McGahee hadn't gotten injured."

I hate to sound stupid....but what the hell is collusion?

You can't complain though, both left the Sox never to do a thing. Ya, Doublem, we have him till after the 2006 season. Also, I don't see why everyone is blaming KW, Buerhle just doesn't want a deal. He's offering a very fair contract, one that would pay more then Sabathia and I think Zito or Mulder, two pitchers that are just as good as Buerhle, if not better. I wouldn't say that Fernandez didn't go on to do a thing....he only threw 220 innings in 1997 and won 17 games for them....that's enough for me to regret not bringing him back. He won a World Series that year....he's about the only White Sox player to ever win a World Series. Goddamn I hope Kenny doesn't f*** this one up.....holy s***, that would kill us. I guess it atleast gives us room to sign a few starters or something....maybe trade for Pettitte or sign Suppan and Wilson....something like that. And I say give him the money....he is the only thing we have that is guarenteed to be the real deal year in and year out....give him a 4-year contract worth $16 mill...that's a win-win situation....he accepts it, both sides are happy....he gets his money and the White Sox come out cheaply. He declines it, we know we have no future with Buehrle, so we can package him and a few others(maybe Liefer, Garland and Sanders) for Colon and Vazquez....hey, I want to dream too....speaking of dreamin....it's frickin late....but I gotta science project I gotta finish. Anyone got any coffee? I may need some....to feel a little like this...

If there's any glimmer of hope for McGahee, it's this. I heard on SC last night that they originally thought the tore all 3 ligaments....but when they did surgery on his knee, they found that only the ACL and the MCL were torn. Yeah, only the ACL and the MCL. Kinda like after you get slaughtered in a baseball game and you say"I lost like 20-3" and someone else says"No you didn't....you only lost 17-3." Only.....sheesh.
-
Actually, that was probably where it originated from, but I first heard about it on Inside the NFL....and then when I went to get my hair cut, I read ESPN the magazine while waiting and read that article....so that must have been it.

So is Couch. If I had to make a comparison, it would be bad....but I'm thinking this could be like the Patriots situation of last year(Bledsoe/Brady)....they have one real strong armed guy in Couch....and a good QB in Holcombe who makes nice, accurate passes, though this is not good if you want to go deep or you need to throw a bullet. I'm not sure which I'd trade....with two fast receivers like the Browns have, I'd actually prefer a guy like Couch, he can throw the bomb and be successful with it....this spreads out the defense and thus, creates big holes for the RB, William Green or Jamel White, whoever they would use. Holcombe would be good for an offense with a lot of receiver, though they don't necessarily have to be fast. That kind of offense would do short little plays, much like the Patriots....a lot of screens and quick outs and 5 yard slants....etc.

I hate to say this....even with Shockey being a son of a b****....but he backs up his words with actions. If he says he's going to run you over, I'd get the hell out of his way, because he's going to run you over. I'd have to agree with doub on this one.....if I could take Jeremy Shockey on the Bills(or the Bears in most of your cases), I'd do it....regardless of how homophobic he was. You can get by in football on brtue strength and insecurity of the your mental state....hell, that Tuola guy or whatever his name was that played for Vikings and Falcons I believe it was was gay and he didn't tell anyone....can you imagine the burden that would be on you? But he played through it and was a pretty good lineman....and then just in the past couple months came out about him being gay. In baseball, you don't necessarily have to be strong to be a good player, but you have to be strong mentally....especially if you're a pitcher. You let s*** run through your mind when you try to deliver a ball and it will mess up your release point, how hard you throw it, etc....if you throw it too hard, which is a possibility, the ball will eventually end up in the lap of some guy who will either be happy, mad, or he could care less. Of course, that guy could be in a car driving down the free way

Getting the mood back would be nice...that was always fun.

Not only has Pettitte pitched in the AL, but he is a lefty(which will help us greatly against the Twins)....something Millwood is not. Pettitte has pitched in a lot of big games in his career and pitched well....he's won, correct me if I'm wrong here, 4 World Series titles.....his hand is quite heavy with all his jewelry on it won from baseball. Millwood wishes he could wear the jewelry that Pettitte wears....as do every member of the Chicago White Sox. Pettitte most likely has the same number of wins in the playoffs as the White Sox as a team do playoff games played in the past 10 years(9). IMO, getting Pettitte makes more sense than a deal that would have gotten us Millwood. But I'm confused....is this just a hypothetical trade situation or are actual talks going on between the teams?

Osuna has had 3 good years in his career....otherwise, he's mediocre or injured. His first year, he struggled....his next 3 years were good(with the 2nd of those 3 being very good)....he then blew out his arm and came back medeciore(3.74 ERA)....he then blew out his arm for the Sox, and then came back mediocre....the past 4 years he's been injured one year and then mediocre the next....I don't want to take a risk that he'll suck ass or get injured. I like Glover, but they may not do the deal unless we actually give them someone good. And we have so many f***in lefty prospects that we can deal a few at the major league level....we have Sanders and Munoz who could be on the big league roster and Porzio deserves atleast a shot at something(maybe starter or reliever....something like that). Right now, we have Marte and Wunsch at the big league level....and you're telling me we couldn't give up Wunsch? For Andy Pettitte? Pettitte makes $11.5 mill next year....Osuna will make around $2.5 mill or so....Wunsch makes $500,000 and Glover will make near the league minimum....they are taking out a good chunk of their debt.....around $8 mill or so....hell, I would even take on half of that $3.5 mill or so on our salary.....and you can't tell me that our bullpen isn't still strong. Anyways, if we could get Pettitte for Osuna and Ginter, with us taking on half of Osuna's salary, I could live with it.....they would be taking $10 mill off their payroll atleast....and we could even get some cash in the deal, to help pay for his and even possibly Osuna's salary....in other words, they could send us $2.5 million, and we would take on about $2 mill of Osuna's salary....meaning they basically give us $2,500,000 but we can only use $500,000 of it....kind of nice if you ask me(if it were to happen).
-
Holy s***, holy s*** holy s*** holy s*** holy s***......wow. I don't know what the hell to say about this....I would be so pumped. We could add only about $8.5 million in salary....give them Osuna, Wunsch, and Glover.....we take Pettitte. They get 3 good pitchers for the pen....we get a starter. Not only that, but then Rauch is in the rotation....we then have a bullpen of Koch, Marte, Biddle, Almonte, Munoz/Sanders, and Ginter/Adkins(yes, that same Adkins kid). The bullpen could be a possible question....but I don't care. That trade would be frickin incredible, and we'd be a team to beat with a good starting rotation, a good bullpen and a great lineup....our bullpen isn't as good as it normally would be, but it'd still be pretty good, or if we got lucky, it would be very good.

Corey Lee signs with Yankees Son of a b****....we get rid of a guy in Herb who was a guy we could almost depend on to come through in the clutch for a guy in Corey Lee who we have in our minor league system for a year. Pisses me off.
-
I'm not sure everyone caught on SI....I did. LOL!
-
C-dub....are you talking this year or in the future? Because I see someone like Wright or Garland possibly throwing one their career....and I seriously wouldn't be as surprised as I normally would be to see Wright throw an AJ Burnett-like no-hitter this year if he has an incredibly good night(or even an incredibly bad night-stuff wise...he could confuse the hitters). However, right now, I see only Buehrle and Rauch being potential Cy Young winners.
-
I'd rather have Suppan.....he's pitched decently in the past and he has more stamina....the most innings Halama has ever thrown is about 180.....Suppan throws 200 year in and year out. Suppan has better stuff and if we signed him, he atleast wouldn't kill us every time. Regardless, I'd rather have Paul Wilson over anyone....he's a good pitcher that knows how to pitch. He could put up 10-15 wins for us.
-
He'd be a nice addition....but only if he could play LF(and Borchard could play CF well)....we have someone better offensively and defensively in RF in Maggs, we have someone better defensively and possibly offensively in Crede at 3B, and we have someone better offensively and possiby defensively in Konerko at 1B....if he can't play LF, or we do retain Thomas, then screw it....we got better people at the positions he plays....unless he wants to switch to 2B or C....or starting pitcher We'll probably have to wait until he becomes a free agent then....and hopefully we'll have a new owner and we can actually get a few people.
-
He ripped up his knee pretty good....tearing his ACL, PCL and MCL....ouch. I don't have a link right now, but that's what it was. If you go to the Yahoo NCAA football main page, you can click on a link that is titled "McGahee"....that'll give you the extent of it.
-
He can play them....maybe he can't play 3B well....but I know that Cuddyer can play 1B and RF decently. Not as good as Dustan Mohr, but Cuddyer brings a bit more to the plate than Mohr does as well.
-
I believe Rogers' agent is Bora$. I got three words for you: not gonna happen
-
c-dub.....he was the gem of the Twins system....he's a guy who will be a decent 4-tool player in the future....he'll probably hit .300-.320 in the future with 30 or so bombs and 120 RBIs with a good arm and decent defense....not sure about his speed. He'll probably be a guy that draws 100 walks and strikes out 80-100 times...and he isn't a douchebag on the basepaths(unlike Caballo). And as roman says, he hits the ball real hard....I was watching a Twins game last year and saw him hit a grand slam....a real shot....just rose gently and then fell about 4 rows back, right down the left field line. It would be your basic grand slam....except for the fact that the ball was at about his ankles when he hit it, and it took about 3 seconds to get out He's a good hitter, and will be the premier hitter for the Twins in a couple years....and he is as versatile as Jeff Liefer....hell, the Twins have about 4 guys like that. Still, he'll never be as good as Maggs....hehe.
-
You didn't get his autograph?! What?! LOL.....but I would watch out for him. He'll be a .300 30 100 guy someday or so....he's a pretty good ball player.
-
Goddamn Jets....I hate them. I hope they get slaughtered by the Raiders or Titans, whoever they play next round.
-
The Jets are a good team....I just hate em. They start out 2-5 and take the AFC East...the bastards. I don't care how good they are. I want them to lose. Much like I want the Yankees to lose. And the Knicks to lose(which they are.... )....and I could care less about hockey, so I could care less about the Rangers and Islanders. Oh yeah, I hate the Mets too, and I don't really like the Giants either. I guess I'm not much of a fan of New York sports, though the Nets play their home games pretty close to New York...they are a fun team to watch.
-
Holy s***....there was a game? I was fixated on Willis McGahee's knee the whole game. Ouch....that had to have hurt. So long to his great career. That was a great game....and it came down to the very end. Sievers is a clutch motherf***er, I'll tell you that for sure. I don't know if I could stand in that kind of situation or hold anything down, let alone kick a 40 yard field goal.
-
I was just wondering.... Seeing this, I'd have to say that Colon will probably go to Boston, assuming they are willing to deal Hillenbrand, Fossum and a prospect....because if they are, then that will be a sick top 3 next year....that'll be the best in the majors.....the only thing it wouldn't have is a lefty. I wouldn't do it either....I just wanted to see what everyone else said....seeing the Boston trade rumors involving Hillenbrand and Fossum got me thinking that that is probably what they would do or what they would want to do.
