QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 5, 2013 -> 08:48 PM) It doesn't bother me at all. It just makes no damn sense whatsoever. But you got your wish. The Nationals will have lost at least one game before we see them. There shall be no story! I wouldn't be so sure about that. Only down by 15 runs at this point.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 04:13 PM) You don't sign Keppinger for 3 years to platoon. Yep. Overall, the production you receive out of him will be around a .730 OPS while he destroys lefties and is a liability against RHP. He's not going to be worthless against RHP. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 04:17 PM) He strikes out alot I know he is a liability against right hand pitchers.I just thought he might do better than 1 hit. It's been 3 games. I have a pretty good feeling he's going to do better than 1 hit too. This isn't Adam Dunn against lefties in 2011.

QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 03:58 PM) Viciedo and De Aza got some major issues though. Throw Kepp in there as well. Viciedo and De Aza I understand. You want to see them play better, especially De Aza. Keppinger has a career .687 OPS against RHP. He's been around for a while. He's not going to hit them well. Do not throw Keppinger in there. Do not past go. Do not collect $200. We know what we have in Keppinger. He's a lefty murderer, a liability against righties, and a guy who doesn't strike out and so help me god if you say he strikes out a lot because he's struck out twice in three games I'm going to snap.

Chris Davis might be the most dangerous hitter in the majors right now. Since August 18th of last year - 39 games - he's put up at .355/.421/.798/1.220 with 18 HR. Extrapolated over 162 games, that's a - brace yourself - 73 home run pace.

I have no problem if Beckham continues doing this sort of thing

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 03:16 PM) Who is the royals catcher? Is he supposed to be good? Haven't heard, maybe you should ask Hawk and Stone

I want De Aza to hit the ball 40,000 feet now to dead center field

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 03:12 PM) Today, I have brought you Flowers for the singles party. Hopefully Beckham brings him home. Do you suppose De Aza would like to bring two home?

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 03:10 PM) Wise Sanchez Gillaspe Gimenez White Sox Goon Gang . We should probably paint them green, so they can be the green goons

HECTORINO. MAKING COPIES. THROWING STRIKES. DOUBLE PLAYS. HECTORINO

Would be a lot cooler if the Sox bench was cool. For whatever reason, Wise, Sanchez, Gillaspie, and Gimenez is just not as cool as Harris, Widger, Ozuna, and TIMO

QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 02:49 PM) While I agree late-in-season games shouldnt be weighted in importance, isn't the scoreboard-follow just a little early here? The Tigers losing is a good thing any time of the year.

Time for De Aza to not f*** up

QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 02:07 PM) Keppinger has what? 1 hit? Keppinger is a career .268/.320/.357/.678 against RHP. He murders lefties to the tune of .333/.376/.487/.864. Expecting Keppinger to hit well against RHP when he has not done so in the past is insanity. He'll hit better than this, but you don't expect him to be a stud.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 10:53 AM) Umm, clearly you aren't familiar with gof... I am not. There is GOLF. And you don't play directly against 1 person as you do in many other; as such, you never really play offense either. You just play.

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 12:09 PM) Single = 2 Victory Points (VP) Double = 5 VP Triple = 10 VP Homer = 20 VP Gavin K = 2 VP (+1 VP if Hawk does NOT say HE GAWWN) Gavin BB = -2 VP Fantastic defensive play = 10 VP Viciedo makes no errors = 10 VP Dunn doesn't strike out = 10 VP Royals defenders collide = 10 VP I am using this to score baseball in the future.

Official 2013-2014 NCAA Football Thread
witesoxfan replied to Kyyle23's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 10:34 AM) The NCAA is really turning into a joke. They investigate Cam Newton, find nothing, and then all this comes out, which happened at the same time as the Cam Newton stuff... Amazing. Emmert really needs to go. He's lost institutional control which essentially tries to screw teams out of championships when they lose institutional control. -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 10:30 AM) so this is proof that the Sox will win by 100 today? Atleast 100 victory points.

There is really only 1 sport where offensive players' requirements doesn't involve playing defense, and that's football. Football is 100% the most specialized sport in all of American sports, and that is likely true internationally too, though I'm not familiar with every sport around the world.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 10:13 AM) Kepp played nothing but 3rd and DH in spring training games so it's unlikely Robin will use him anywhere but 3rd base defensively unless we have some major injuries at some point. Also Gillaspie cooled down quite a bit toward the end of ST. At the same time, Keppinger isn't terribly familiar with 3B and getting him as much time as possible over there during ST to get him acclimated to his primary position is a goal of ST. It doesn't mean he can't or won't play some 2B this year.
