  1. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 09:52 AM) The fact that it's Guthrie is like -10 victory points, multiplied by the fact that it's the Royals which is is probably -10 victory points... (-10)*(-10) = +100 You can't argue with math, it's the universal language. What does a score of +100 equate to with regards to baseball runs?
  2. I'm looking for Konerko to have a big game in this one. Need to ready to jump on fastballs he leaves up early in the count, and need to fight breaking balls off late in the count.
  3. So they go to the National Eastern Division North now right? There I think they face Liberty, unless SW Missouri State can upset Louisiana-Lafeyette in the American Southwestern Division Northern East, then Prairie View goes to the Tournament, unless Northern Alabama upsets Eastern Illinois and Maine ties Xavier, IUPUI would face Santa Barbara and Nebraska-Omaha in a blind choice round robin. Naturally, of course, if no clear winner emerges, a two-person sack race will be held on consecutive Sundays until a champion can be crowned.
  4. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 09:16 AM) Look at the threads, I believe it is. Wait for a losing streak. Plenty of people will have answers then.
  5. The Bulls can find a replacement for Boozer. He works hard and he's hilarious to listen to on the court, but he's terribly overpaid. Taj is probably good enough to hold the fort down. Noah and Deng aren't irreplaceable, but they are above average starters and very good at their role. I also don't know that you want to start Teague. He'd be good as a starter, but there is a ton of value in his versatility coming off the bench as a 6th man with his all-around game. Beyond that, it'd be nice if they could get a spot up shooter at SG, which is sort of what Rip was supposed to provide but he's just old and creaking anymore. This is a lost season.
  6. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 01:07 AM) It's the end of the board as we know it. And I feel fine
  7. Their pitching staff is fine too. I still think 1-2-3 in that division is, in no particular order, Baltimore, Tampa Bay, Toronto.
  8. "s*** it's Belle-Big Hurt, and I need to catch a train in Thome minutes to get the Minoso bus so I can get home and get some sweet, sweet poon at Aparicio!" I love it
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 05:23 PM) Its going to heal quicker and easier than a torn out knee. I understand it was gross, but it's not that devastating these days. Brian Hartline went down with a similar injury and won the hurdles state championship the next spring, and went on to be a pretty good athlete in college and the pros. 3 months before it's healed. I'm not ptatc, but as I understand it, with a bone, everything that was there before is still there, so they set it and it will essentially start healing itself as soon as it calms down and realizes WTF is going on. They use the screws to ensure that it heals together properly. With a blown knee, they literally have to take a ligament from your elbow, wait for it to actually set in the bone, and then the muscles surrounding it have to get stronger as well. There's like nothing you can really even do for 4-6 months on it because it will just snap off and you're left with a floppy knee. Eric Wood (Bills center) had a compound fracture in his tibia in like week 14 of the 2011 season, and he was ready to kick ass in training camp in July of 2012.
  10. QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 08:12 PM) Assuming they don't turn it on and get all these guys back healthy and drinking out of the fountain of youth.... what a HELL of a run. From 1996-2012 there was a legitimate chance of them winning a World Series and they did five times in that 16 year span. I'm almost 30 so most of my life has been this dominant Yankee empire, I don't really know what it's like to have a s***ty Yankee team out there. It's gonna be fun. You could be 100. The Yankees have still been a dominant empire.
  11. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 03:37 PM) lol Really? Ill have to check that. As for the Disney Lucas Arts stuff, you really should take a wait and see approach. Disney is just moving to a different model, where they will license Star Wars stuff to game developers, instead of building the games in house. This very likely could mean more Star Wars games, as they wont be limited to Lucas Arts. And Disney will be getting paid regardless of how crappy the game does. Save yourself some time and money and just stick with Madden 12.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 04:07 PM) I adore that we use Rooney's line for winner threads, but then again that turncoat has been with the Cardinals for 8 seasons. We need something new. How about BALLGAME HEEYESSS SOX WIN That is my suggestion. I like change. I also like tradition. I say post whatever you want. When the Sox win tomorrow, just beat SS2k and have it say "BALLGAME HEEYESSSSS SOX WIN"
  13. The White Sox have scored 6 runs this year. 100% of those runs have been scored via 5 home runs
  14. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 02:37 PM) To add: runners are always trying to maximize their chances, so depending on the likelihood that a ball is caught or the situation, they'll do different things while the ball is in the air. For instance, if there's a runner on 3rd and less than two outs, they'll just stand on the base waiting for the catch because they only need to get from 3rd to home, so if it's caught they can just take off the instant the ball hits the glove, whereas if the outfielder doesn't make the play they can scamper home on the hit. A runner on 1b, however, is much more likely to move forward on the base path quite a bit because it's not like they'd be likely to take second base anyway (all of the outfielders are close enough to 2b that they can throw the runner out in most cases). So the runner takes some liberty. But if it looks like it's going to be caught, he needs to make sure he doesn't get too far off the base or else the fielder can throw the ball into first base. If the ball beats the runner there, he's out. So a lot of times on fly balls you'll see a runner on first base run about halfway to second in the hopes that it will fall, but not so far that they can't get back safely. This is part of the reason 2 out doubles with the bases loaded are so sweet/heartbreaking.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 02:28 PM) hasnt that game been in development for a really long time? That is never good, just ask Gearbox about Aliens: Colonial Marines Or Duke Nukem
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 02:24 PM) Thank goodness Gordon didn't catch that. Woulda been horrible on so many counts! How in the heck did the one poster know we'd hit so many HRs today? Because Ervin Santana is a terrible pitcher who gives up a lot of home runs
  17. It's as relevant here as anywhere else. Kevin Ware said he didn't feel pain and thought it was just an ankle when he went down. Said Pitino went to to help him up and he knew it was bad when he saw Pitino's eyes (after Pitino realized what happened).
  18. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 02:10 PM) This. Is. Incredible. That's as good as Dingle Berry
  19. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 02:09 PM) It will be extremely gratifying if Flowers can keep shoving it in people's faces early Yes
  20. A perfect game now is like a 40 homer season was 10 years ago.
  21. That's a good one too, I always forget about smells like that. Haven't been to USCF - fingers crossed for 2014 because this summer is impossible - but anywhere I smell anything like that, I immediately think of sitting down and watching a baseball game.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 10:43 AM) A betting parlor? It's right next to the Hair Parlor and the Dance Parlor.
