  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 01:57 PM) What if that video was made for April fools day and everyone took it seriously?
  2. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 10:15 AM) Well, if it goes to 6, the Spurs would have to win 2 Ha, obviously that's what I meant. Probably should have stated it as might win 2 in a 7-game series
  3. This thread used to be good but now it sucks
  4. QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 10:37 AM) I wouldn't have as big a problem with Hawk if he had anything new to say in the last 15-20 years. At this point he's an old timey record stuck in repeat combined with a morning radio instant replay machine. The only time he was (and is on occasion now) tolerable is when Wimpy is with him. STREEEETCH is new in the last 15-20 years
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 10:37 AM) Hey!!?!! Jury's still out
  6. QUOTE (Joxer_Daly @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 10:24 AM) Pity. For proper discussion, I find Twitter a nightmare for trying to keep up with things if you're anyway busy. At least on here, you can track back to wherever you last read up to. I also find it difficult to have legitimate conversations on Facebook too. If people are like me, they have some total morons they are friends with on Facebook, and it is just awful.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 10:02 AM) He was making $157,000 at FGCU. Considering location, that's basically nothing for a college coach.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 10:08 AM) Alex Avila is a good player but I think that guys knees are going to end his career prematurely. He has already had problems in his relatively short career Just needs to get robot knees
  9. Nice deal, Moore is a bit of a risk and Longopolis (new awesome nick I just came up with) is a bit injury prone but I like him. Sucks to give up Sale but we can't even use him for the next 4 games anyways, so really it's a win.
  10. Soxtalk was started like 2002-ish. 1,000,000 posts came January of 2006. 2,000,000 posts came September of 2009. Soxtalk, as of 4/13 is at 2.7 million. Catch-Alls have been around since 2005.
  11. I apologize in advance if that was anyone who posted that from here, but ugh, that article. I'm overly optimistic, but that is straight homer-ish and poorly written.
  12. The only way that happens is if injuries occur. This team is too good. Put bluntly, the Yankees have a better shot of being broken up this year than the current Sox roster.
  13. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 09:34 AM) What's the all-time Hawk-fixation team? CF Carlos Gomez LF Yaz RF Ichiro 1B Russell Branyan He typically gushes over outfielders. Bo Jackson, Grady Sizemore, and Jim Rice come to mind too.
  14. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 08:49 AM) Thank you wite. You are very welcome
  15. QUOTE (Boogua @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 08:45 AM) So nobody really talked about the Heat beating the Spurs on the road without James, Wade, and Chalmers. Look at that starting 5 around Bosh. Rashard Lewis, Mike Miller, Norris Cole, and Udonis Haslem? Gross. I remember a few pages back some people were completely underselling Bosh's value and basically said that Lebron would still win even if he was still with the Cavs. I think Sunday is a pretty good indicator of how valuable Bosh still is (he's just the third option now) and how good the Heat play defense as a team. 86 points to the Spurs in San Antonio is pretty damn impressive. This. I thought the only team that would stand a chance against the Heat was San Antonio, but they just don't have the athleticism. They might get 2 out of 6.
  16. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 10:42 PM) Hate AJ? -Not Check. Hate Mark? -Not Check. Hate Kenny Williams? -Not Check. Hate Hawk and want him gone? -Half Check. This list needed to be corrected
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 10:19 AM) Bell said the plan was for him to start at Birmingham. There is no way this would have happened under Williams. They would have put him at AAA simply because it is a better park to hit in and his power likely would have translated better, and would have increased his value. With Hahn, he is in AA because it will give him more time against hard stuff. I'd expect a mid-season promotion.
  18. QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 09:48 PM) Thing is, they always had those kind of line-ups, but they just murdered the Sox. Not the case the last few years... I say it's a result of the move outdoors. The mystic of the Dome is gone. No, they've had players with good contact skills who could work a count to get their pitch. Florimon and Dozier are hot garbage. Hicks is a good prospect and Parmelee has been streaky but effective at the MLB level. There's absolutely talent in the lineup, just not up the middle.
  19. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 06:06 AM) I'm not sure if it was mentioned but what did everyone think of Reed's performance? He's still missing right over the middle of the plate for me too much. I do like his demeanor on the mound however and he seems to have the mentality of a closer, but he's going to have to locate his stuff better. I'd like better location of the slider, but his fastball placement today was fine, and everything goes off that. It was hard to tell, but it looked like he lined up on the left side of the rubber as opposed to the middle, which will allow for his fastball to run a little better while still getting good snap on his slider, especially down and away/in from righties/lefties.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 03:04 AM) http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-leag...eXBhZ2U-;_ylv=3 Blogger predicts Sale regression? Fourth place? C'mon! The Indians and Royals being picked as "sleeper" teams is getting WAY too trendy these days. I think people confuse the term "regression" with "getting worse." regression - the act of going back to a previous place or state; return or reversion. So either they're saying he's going to return to what he did last season - I'm honestly ok with that - or they say he's going to be a reliever. Someone in the Diamond Club got peeved that I used the term pentultimate wrong; I get peeved when people use regression wrong, and this happens far, far more often.
  21. You should direct message Peavy on Twitter and let him know. Have Sale look at it. I am not kidding either.
  22. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 04:07 PM) No nothing to do with today he is not a true number 3 hitter. Yeah I'm gonna go ahead and say that's ridiculous. If you use the traditional definition of a 3 hitter, you are looking for a guy who hits for average, power, and has speed. That's Alex Rios. If you want the sabermetric definition of a 3 hitter, you are looking for a guy who primarily gets on base and hits for power, strikeouts and average be damned. That's Adam Dunn.
  23. Wouldn't it be awesome if Robin got rung up in Game #1
