  1. I wish I could grow a beard like that. Also, I wish I were black.
  2. Coincidentally, my penis is also named nightstick
  3. He might be wearing a wire. Take off your shirt to prove it.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 01:44 PM) Why, you looking for some? Maybe. Are you a cop?
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 12:14 PM) Thanks...for the two weeks you were hot when we first got you. Do they Yankees just overpay for the heck of it? Cleveland wasn't offering close to $12, were they? Yes, $18 over 2 years
  6. Scored 104 points in My Player in NBA2k12 (and I am aware that it is not '13)
  7. QUOTE (sayitaintso @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 10:22 AM) Since Hannahan was rumored here for a while I felt this fit in here...bump if needed. It's almost official! MLB Trade Rumors ‏@mlbtraderumors Reds To Sign Jack Hannahan http://bit.ly/SbDK5r #mlb REJOICE SOXTALK! I don't mind Hannahan...I don't like him either. This signing/non-signing gives me the ultimate "meh" feeling.
  8. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 01:34 PM) Maybe Gonzalez was looking at it backwards and its Kyle Seagar they're really looking at. lol no
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 04:41 PM) 2 weeks is great though because it takes out outliers generally speaking. I am behind right now because of this week but it should all even out next week. There's virtually 0 reason for me to care this week because I am down 50
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 08:18 AM) Taking Reed out drops the bullpen's ERA from 3.75 to 3.64. Sorry, I meant after the numbers I took out as well from those essentially meaningless pitchers
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 08:20 AM) Courtesy of Jon Heyman Jesus that would be the worst trade of the offseason
  12. QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 09:34 PM) The Brandon McCarthy signing was also confusing. They are stacked in the rotation and ton of young starting pitching talent coming up. I guess you can never have enough pitching. Kennedy, Cahill, Hudson, McCarthy, Skaggs, Corbin, Miley, Collmenter. They have by far the most starting pitching to deal. Just not sure Bauer for shortstop Didi Gregorius was the right move. Towers has always been shaky as a GM. I've always thought Towers to be a good GM.
  13. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 10:22 PM) What are you talking about? The Sox bullpen has been a strength most years, for a number of years. 2012 was a down year... with a handful of guys that wite mentioned that won't be around doing much of the damage, and oh-by-the-way throwing 10 rookies out there. Guys like Reed, Jones, Omogrosso, etc. are very likely to improve. Crain is pretty reliable, year in and year out. Veal was a revelation. The only guy who looks likely to return right now is Thornton, who may very well get traded. Reed struggled a lot more than Jones last year, in my view. But they are both young. Reed was f'ing terrible last year. I haven't done the exact math, but I'm 99% sure if you take out Reed's numbers, the bullpen had an ERA below 3.
  14. QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 04:48 AM) I read where Philly talked about trading Dominic Brown for Alfonso Soriano. I'd take Brown on the Sox. I've been saying Brown +, for Rios. I have been following closely and have literally never seen anything anywhere that said the Phillies would consider trading Dominic Brown for Alfonso Soriano.
  15. QUOTE (Carter224 @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 06:34 PM) If its not good, its not depth. If it's good enough, it's depth
  16. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 05:05 PM) Several here have to eat crow after prematurely calling him a hypocrite...for going to Cleveland after GASP he said he wouldnt mind playing in front of an excited packed house night after night Yes, who would want that. As a (highly skilled) employee in a very well paid but highly volatile job, would you take $240K for 1 year or $120K a year for 2 years?
  17. QUOTE (pktmotion @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 09:55 PM) Flowers need sunlight to bloom. Say no to AJ, it's time to close that book. Never have I seen something so cheesy and loved it so much Kudos
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 06:29 PM) Then he also gets credit for his miserable slump causing us to miss the playoffs at the end of the season. Oh good f***ing lord -September and October (starters): Viciedo: .896 Rios: .888 De Aza: .848 Beckham: .792 Konerko: .773 Dunn: .676 Pierzynski: .656 Youkilis: .649 Ramirez: .547 If you're going to blame the offense (mind you, the staff ERA was 4.04 for September and the Tigers' was 2.48), then you have just as much blame to put on Pierzynsky, Dunn and Ramirez as you do on Youkilis. As much as I suggest the dude is a slimy bastard - quite honestly, I do believe so - there's no way the Sox final game with Detroit means a f***ing thing without him. He is to blame for nothing.
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 06:08 PM) I have a few more details but unfortunately they are not good ones. She had back surgery last night and though it was a complicated surgery, she had come out of it OK and was in recovery with normal vitals. Sometime during a 40-minute interval between nurses checking in, she stopped breathing and her heart stopped beating. They were able to restart her heart, but she has never regained consciousness, and doctors have confirmed that she has extensive heart damage and no brain activity. They are going to keep her alive for 24 hours per what I guess is standard procedure, but she's more or less gone. I lost my Dad in January at age 66 and now my sister in December at age 35. What an awful year. This is terrible. She will continue to be in our prayers, hoping insistently for the best.
