  1. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 01:22 PM) HoT FiRe! I'm pretty sure that you are still the only one that likes this nickname.
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 10:35 PM) True that. I still question Hamels though. He shows flashes of 2008, but then he hangs a couple of pitches and starts giving up homers. Hamels is prone to giving up the homer, but he's a legitimate #2 starter.
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 09:21 PM) As are the Mets. The top of the NL East should be quite competitive going forward. I still can't help but feel that the Mets are just patched up team who has played well over about 70 games. I'm waiting for the wheels to come off that bus at any time now.
  4. He's actually had like 3-4 really bad outings...he's actually been a decent reliever overall. Speaking of players on the Yankees, how f***ing good is Robinson Cano? Jesus.
  5. Remember when Joba Chamberlain was good?
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 01:42 PM) There's no way in hell this team is capable of sweeping a three-game series against Pitt.
  7. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 11:05 AM) Did you know that new born babies' breasts swell and if you pinch it, milk will come out?! It's something the mother's hormones do to the kid! I did it to my kids all the time!! HAHA ..It was funny .."How do you scare a bee?" ..then you pinch the tata and say "boo bee" lol ....When my oldest got older, I had to stop because he thought he was gonna ask me "Momma, how do you scare a bee?" ...HAW, sucks for the kid, I already knew the answer to that one!! !! Male Lactation uhhhhhhhhhhhh yeah, about MY nipples
  8. but seriously, does it work on your nipples?
  9. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 09:36 PM) Have you ever experienced an Alabama June? No, but I have experienced a Pierre, SD summer. And am in the process of experiencing a Vermillion, SD summer. Birmingham, AL AVG temp in June - 87 high, 65 low, 76 mean Pierre, SD AVG temp - 81 high, 55 low, 68 mean Vermillion - 84 high, 57 low, 71 mean July and August don't get any cooler for both places. So I understand the experience. I still say... ...Quitter!!!
  10. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 06:53 PM) The Barons scored 11 runs after I left. I left before the start of the bottom of the 7th when it was 4-1 Jacksonville. It was too damn hot. Quitter!
  11. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 08:53 PM) Peavy's MRI came back clean and the ailment is now being described as an "achy shoulder". His next start -- which was supposed to be tomorrow -- WILL be pushed back to either Friday or Saturday in Washington. He probably f***ing slept on it wrong
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 08:57 AM) Not as much hype with him, but I still cannot believe that Kila is in AAA. He's fallen back a bit, and his slash line is now just .327/.502/.586/1.089. 502 f***ing OBP - the pitchers in AAA are just not even pitching to him, he's doing this with no lineup protection. He's also got 58 BB against just 39 K. He's got to come up soon. Did he sleep with the GM's daughter or something? He does have Alex Gordon down there nowadays.
  13. QUOTE (Lillian @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 02:16 PM) As absurd as it seems, to conclude otherwise is to suggest that this organization is being run by egomaniacs and idiots. Either way, I'm completely disgusted with all them. How about you? Pretty sure you hit the nail squarely on the head.
  14. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 09:22 AM) I understand your points, but I don't think any Sox fan would argue Alexei's production or contract. It's all gravy. But we've sacrificed defense big time this year to put Gordo at 2B, where I don't think he looks comfortable at all yet. Now we're stuck with Teahen's crappy D at 3rd, and it's not like Teahen is this great power 3B that fulfills typical power 3b production anyway. Beckham was awesome at 3B. Now he's rotting away at the most useless position in baseball where teams stick their crappiest infielders. We need us a real Third Baseman, and hopefully we get it for next year. Who is it? And any of you guys who say 3B must be a power, plus-bat position, then you have absolutely no right to ever suggest Morel. Beckham is fine defensively at 2B. He doesn't have a good first step, but has the makeup speed to make up for it. All you were seeing him do at the end of last year was finally getting adjusted to 3B. If he's given a couple years to develop defensively at 2B, he'll end up being just fine and perhaps even an all-star at some point. I also don't think Williams envisioned Teahen being as bad defensively as he is. He's been quite undeniably the worst defensive 3Bman in the entire majors. He doesn't belong in the infield.
  15. QUOTE (qwerty @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 07:13 PM) Wite wishes he looked that good. its true, really is
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 06:16 PM) WOOHOO! daddy?
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 04:00 PM) All he did was lift it. Who lifts their XBox while they are playing it?
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 03:03 PM) He has some of the best pure stuff ever. But right now Jimenez is putting up the single greatest season in baseball history (from a pitching perspective, imo). If he keeps this up all season, it will be. Pedro Martinez in 2000 is still absolutely incredible though. What makes Jimenez more impressive is that he's doing what he is in Colorado. He's amazing.
  19. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 09:19 AM) Eh, I liked Gordo's position at 3B. He seems to have no range but a quick first step. He started looking like a plus defender over there, and it keeps him outa double plays. I wish we had a legit SS, could move Alexei to 2B and Beck back to 3B. Whatever. Alexei Ramirez is a legitimate shortstop. The OPS among all SS's in the MLB is .696. Alexei is at .686 right now and, considering he's eclipsed that in the past two seasons and he's heating up like he normally does, it wouldn't be shocking to see him do it again. He's also solid defensively too. Alexei Ramirez is better than your league average shortstop. Considering what he produces and how much he costs, he's really the least of the Sox concerns.
  20. QUOTE (balfanman @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 09:15 AM) I kind of like a form of this idea. At some point, even though A.J likes to play a lot of innings, I think that he is smart enough to realize that DHing more often, or even playing some first base (Konerkos' partial replacement ?) would help to prolong his career and offensive numbers. I wouldn't mind seeing A. J., Flowers, & either Castro or Lucy form a catcher / DH trio. It can't be any worse offensively than what we have now at DH. It gives all 3 catchers adequate playing time, Flowers learns more slowly with experience around him, and it give Ozzie flexibility at the catcher position. JMHO AJ Pierzynski is not good enough offensively to have him also spend a considerable amount of time at 1B and DH. He's essentially the same hitter as Mark Kotsay, but he is tolerated at catcher because he calls a good game and it's much harder to find offense at catcher. Beyond that, catchers generally age faster than other players due to the wear and tear on their body from the rigors of catching, and it's entirely possible that's what has gone on this season, so it is very possible that the Sox could be worse offensively with a trio of Pierzynski-Flowers-Castro/Lucy.
  21. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 09:04 AM) In all seriousness, what's the feeling about Lucy? Say the Sox sign AJ to an extension and trade Flowers. Is Donny Lucy the catcher of the future for the Sox? I don't know much about him except what I saw when he was up briefly. Donny Lucy being the catcher of the future would be disasterous. Career minor league OPS of .667. Hits lefties just a little better than righties (.684 vs .658). He's a decent backup in the absolute best case scenario.
  22. I would honestly have no problem with the organization trading Flowers if they felt they he wasn't the catcher of the future and wanted to get value out of him while they still could. But then you still need to find another catcher of the future, because that catcher is most certainly not AJ Pierzynski.
  23. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 12, 2010 -> 07:41 PM) No need to apologize. And I had no clue you were engaged to the guy (that would explain the bias). That wasn't a personal insult by me. It was just an honest baseball observation. The only person I like to insult around here is this gay guy named witesoxfan. hellloooooooooooooooooooo
  24. AJ wants money. He won't care that much if he's not playing. And it's not worth risking it. You hand the keys to Flowers and just let him go with it.
  25. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 03:03 PM) That actually looks pretty good... Until Rios is traded for a bounty of young talent. Rios will be with the Sox for a while, unless Williams steps down and Hahn is forced to make a trade. Rios is a player both Ozzie and Williams can get behind, and the Sox don't exactly have a can't miss CF prospect banging on the door.
