If Axelrod starts the 4th inning, it's like we are literally TRYING to lose this game. Embarassing.

I'm not sure how many people remember this, but in 1990 there was a shortened spring training due to a labor stoppage IIRC, and MLB decided to start the regular season at the regular time despite not much time teams had to get prepared in ST. Anyhow, it forced most teams to just run a new pitcher out there every 2-3 innings for the first month of the season or so until the SP's could get their arm strength built up. It actually worked out quite well for us in the beginning of that year! We need to follow this plan of attack today. No more than 3 IP for Axelrod. Let's use our pen today and see what happens.

Get Hector up now. If Axelrod gets into any trouble they need to cut him out quickly and just make it a bullpen game for us.

Does anyone have a realistic expectation of when Danks will be back in the rotation? Sale Peavy Quintana Danks Floyd That looks like a nice rotation to me.

So does Axelrod go tomorrow? If so our pen better be warming up right now.

Who goes in the 8th & 9th? I don't see Robin putting him out there again next inning, even though he's only had 92 pitches.

That first pitch to Encarcion had the ENTIRE plate and Hawk or Stony didn't say a thing about it. Pitch FX even confirmed it for me on MLB.TV. C'mon guys step up your game. On another note, not an encouraging inning out of Floyd despite him getting out scot free. A lot of hangers and very hittable pitches IMO.

These are the tough calls that a manager needs to make. I don't mind bringing in Reed to start the 9th, even though it didn't work out for us. Obviously Q was cruising and there was good reason to leave him in as well, but that also had the potential to be second guessed as well I think. To me that wasn't a simple decision.

Stone just said undoubtedly that Reed will pitch the 9th.
