  1. I'd take Gavin as my #2 starter right now in a playoff series.
  2. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Sep 23, 2012 -> 02:31 PM) Do you think Dunn has trade value? Just watching him, one can't help but notice how overmatched he is. I'm under the impression we would have to pay salary just for a team to take him let alone get a prospect back. We might even have to pay a few million just to get another GM to waste his time considering it. What are your thoughts? I will take 2 more years like this one from Dunn and won't worry much about it. 40 bombs and 100 RBIs is ok for me
  3. Any reason for Tuesdays game being a 1:10 start?!??
  4. Here's to hoping the twins save some runs for the nightcap
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 09:26 PM) Santana hasn't pitched for 9 days. Seems like he used to throw 93-96 MPH before. Definitely looks like he has lost something off his stuff. Are we the only two watching this game? Crazy considering its 4:27 am for me and like 8:27 am for you?
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 09:19 PM) On the road, if you look at the splits....YOUK definitely should be moved down. Hunter just missed that one. Getting ahead in counts, that's encouraging, and not giving the lead right back to them. Trumbo has really hit the skids since the last time the two teams played. I think it's gotta be considered. Youk looked awful there and is hitting what since the ASB?
  7. Who else is thinking about putting Gordon back in the 2 hole?
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 18, 2012 -> 11:05 PM) The thing people forget when they say Hawk is a homer is he also rips the White Sox. Yes, a MLB announcer who criticizes the team that pays him. Folks ... all the other teams employ broadcasters WHO NEVER RIP THEIR OWN TEAM. The Sox radio team can be critical as well. And I hear the Cub announcers may do it. So outside of Chicago, you get TRUE HOMERS cause they own't rip the teams they work for. I never hear Hawk get any props for being critical. Ask announcers of other teams if they'd even consider ripping the home team. The answer is no. Long live Hawk, Stone, Farmer and DJ and Melton. The best combination in my time was probably Hawk and Drysdale, when I was a kid. Hawk and Wimpy were very good as well. DJ and Farmer are absolutely brutal. Plus they flirt with each other in this strange homo erotic way that makes me want to puke. Melton can't even pronounce half of the players names right (e.g. "Sales") and is basically a hack. Hawk and Stone haven't bonded like we thought they would, probably because Hawk's ego is about the size of Wyoming.
  9. I feel like I just walked through a haunted house and nothing came out of the walls, floors etc. No skeletons, no ghosts. I was just waiting for some fluke to happen in the 9th and it never did. Well done Sox- we must destroy the legend that is Cy Chen tonight.
  10. We will destroy Cy Chen & Guthrie this time around. Their time has come.
  11. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 09:20 PM) Not this year and that is all I care about right now. He is doing great as a middle Reliever and picking up wins I think at this point Reed is still the closer, but RV will go By situation. It was a great move to get him out of the game in Minnesota when he just didn't have it And it was a great move to have him just get one out today. That said, he threw a roller or two up there against Jackson, very hittable pitches that you never want seen thrown in a one run game. If Jackson wasn't banged up a little, you gotta wonder if he would've made it a 5-5 game. At least he attacked the strike zone though- but that rolling slider he threw to Jackson yesterday is bound to go a long way more times than not.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 03:15 PM) If Cabrera comes up this inning against either Reed or Crain, I'm just going to turn off my computer. LOL. I know the feeling. Huge W for our sox. The next 3 games define the season however, because they got 3 in Oakland who are playing great and we have 3 very winnable games in KC no matter what our record is there this year. If we don't gain more ground in the next 3 games, it is not nearly over.
  13. QUOTE (Skipper @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 12:47 PM) Don't let Fielder have a grand salami Hey skipper you're a tigers fan huh? I know a troll when I see one
  14. I didn't realize Q pitched 122 innings for us this year already. That's amazing, he's really stepped up and given us serious innings as well. Let's keep it up today Q!!!
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 05:41 AM) I think everyone should post pics of their girlfriends that want to put down his fiancee's looks. Let us judge! Ok, so I took the bait.
  16. She's not bad, but she's just another girl out here in Eastern Europe. Not tooting my own horn but I'd say my girl out here has her easily beat. You don't realize how poor the quality of women in the USA is generally speaking until you travel to places like Poland or Ukraine.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 16, 2012 -> 12:50 PM) Sox fans complain the starters are overworked and also complain when Ventura uses any reliever other than Veal. What is he supposed to do? +1. It's amazing how quickly Veal has become the left handed second coming of Mariano Rivera on this board. Let's hope he continues to do his job so we can continue to praise him!
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 11:22 PM) Who gives a s***. I would take a division title & Myers at $10mil in 2013 over none of the above. It's really hard to trust Reed right now. No way that happens, however. I just wish we didn't use him to finish games that were well out of reach early on. From a fiscal standpoint there is no way you can justify 10% of your salary on Brett Myers in 2013. Period. Plus there's no convincing me he's any better than Crain could be in the role anyhow. I'd be shocked if he reaches the number this year, which, by the way, what are the current numbers? He needs another 5 finishes or so?
  19. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 10, 2012 -> 07:06 PM) Olmedo? No, they wouldn't send him down. They would have released him, but they haven't done that. It would make the White Sox look like an undesirable place to play...plus, he's the one that warms up the pitchers in between innings. So you're saying he's a fluffer?
  20. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 10, 2012 -> 01:54 PM) They said on MLB Network yesterday that Dunn was gone for the rest of the year, but I haven't seen that confirmed elsewhere yet. Cuddyer had the same thing this year and came back a bit too early and now appears to be cooked for the year. Hopefully not the case for Adam.
  21. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 04:40 PM) "Beckham can hit a fastball." LOL, was thinking the same thing. Right after that he said they moved him from 3B to 2B. Yes, but that was nearly 2 seasons ago. This broadcast has been ugly today.
  22. Wait a minute- both of these guys are Royals announcers? I was wondering what the "no call" was of the home run by Flowers. This is awful.
  23. Is it just me or does Beckham seem to have a LOT better chance against a soft tosser? And the reason for this is the hitch in his swing?
  24. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:06 PM) Hudson hit the ball pretty hard. Agreed however Dayan almost got to him at the cell as well. When you're down 2 with 2 on and 2 out, I question putting a guy up there who's hitting .200 with 0 HR's
