I think most people deep down knew we're getting swept this weekend. We can't beat the tigers in Detroit right now. That's just the truth. We can still win this, however, after being tied for the division lead on Sept 3.

I know this has been mentioned but this game completed by Myers gets us one step closer to paying him $10M per next year, which would significantly reduce our flexibility in 2013. I realize most people don't care about 2013 right now, but this would have been another good reason to pull him in favor of Thornton there in the 8th.

Strangely enough, Myers has finished several games this year where he wasn't needed to finish the game. If we end up having to pay him $10M next year (or roughly 10% of our payroll) this would be a huge mistake.
