  1. Dunn could hit .300 with 40 HR & 100 RBI this year and be non tendered in the offseason
  2. I believe Ozzie said that he was going to send Pablo Ozuna out there in Game 3 of the World Series. Can you imagine if they lost that game? That would be infuriating. In any event, I have to agree, I hate forfeiting a game, which is what we did last night when putting Garcia on the mound.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 04:30 PM) Garcia's gotta stop trying head first dives. It's not that nobody should do them, it just seems like he doesn't know how to properly dive head first. Every time he dives he hurts himself it seems. Really bad news.
  4. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Mar 30, 2014 -> 03:24 PM) Hopefully Semien plays well enough to make Ventura think long and hard about what to do when Beckham comes back. IMO, if Semien plays well then its his job to lose while Beckham rides the pine as the backup. There is no way this happens even if Semien hits 1.000. They need to give Beckham a full year to see if he is worth it or at worst deal him at the deadline and get something in return for him. If Semien does hit well I'd love to see him fill in at 3B for a while though, or at SS if we trade Alexei.
  5. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Mar 17, 2014 -> 02:23 PM) Paulino's pretty erratic, but got out of it anyway. Not much command there. He's looking pretty good to me! Called strike 3 again....
  6. Who is going to be the "I've lost 20 lbs and I'm in the best shape of their life" story this year?
  7. QUOTE (Hawkfan @ Feb 12, 2014 -> 11:30 AM) I've heard from multiple sources that historically, players that have undergone Tommy John surgery have performed much better in their second year back. I'm hoping this is the case, cuz John Danks is the s*** Except Danks didn't have TJ surgery. It was surgery on his shoulder, not elbow. He should be 100% recovered this year one would hope, however.
  8. Apparently Tanaka's wife is an aspiring singer and looking to further her career, so it makes more sense for LA than anything else, plus it's closer to Japan and better weather. Unfortunately I don't see how the White Sox fit into his plans realistically.
  9. The guy made 26M in his career. After the government gets their 40% slave cut, that's still 14M or so that he'd have to blow to be broke. Although with things these days I would not be shocked to hear he was in debt and owing child support etc after a divorce.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 09:44 AM) I would delete Baines & Guillen from that list. And I've never heard of Charley Lau. Baines was probably the best clutch hitter the Sox ever had...
  11. Here's another good game from 1986: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3l6qr2gtspQ
  12. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Dec 14, 2013 -> 11:57 PM) I love Juan Uribe. So do his teammates. This contract will ensure my Dodgers fan brother gets a Juan Uribe card for Christmas once again! (Previously gave him Juan Pierre too, a mutual Juan gimmick). By the end of this contract Juan Uribe will have made over 55 M in his career. Pretty crazy when you think about a player of his caliber.
  13. I think we need to give Beckham another year. This is his last if he doesn't perform. But it makes no sense to trade him now as we wouldn't get anything back of value, and he seemed to figure it out a bit last year. This team isn't going anywhere anyways. And I realize we may be holding Simien back but another year in the minors wouldn't be the worst thing for him.
  14. QUOTE (oldsox @ Nov 28, 2013 -> 10:25 AM) 352 http://www.andrewclem.com/Baseball/Diag/ComiskeyPark.gif also: http://www.ballparks.com/baseball/american/comisk.htm Seems it was 352 for a while as well, but 347 when I was a kid in the 80's
  15. 347 down the lines was the Old Comiskey Dimensions if I recall correctly as well.
  16. QUOTE (soxfan-kwman @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 12:01 PM) I Like the trade. If he hits nobody will care. I'd say Dunn & Danks. The Brewers have to eat one year of Dunn & they get a lefty who can pitch in the NL for sure. That would give us one less lefty starter & more pitching balance. With Detroit getting rid of another Lefty bat we need more right hand starting pitchers. If we make that trade we can then sign Dan Haren for 2 years, re-sign Floyd for 2 years, & maybe sign Salty. With Braun only makes 10 mil next year, & 12 mil the following before his salary goes up to 19 mil in year 3 that would allow us to sign some more guys. Sale Haren Quintana Floyd Santigo Not bad? 1 De Aza 2 Garcia 3 Braun 4 Abreu 5 Salty 6 Vieciedo 7 Semien 8 Beckham 9 Ramirez Floyd isn't going to pitch in 2014 more than likely. Also, what nobody has mentioned is the fact that Braun played all of 2012 and had a great year with no positive drug test. How anyone can assume he was juicing all year after the fiasco at the end of 2011 is beyond me. Again, I repeat, he had no failed drug tests in 2012, so how does everyone know he was juicing that year in which he had 41 HR's and raked all year?
  17. QUOTE (jhonnydanks @ Nov 14, 2013 -> 11:54 AM) Didn't he end up hitting a monster walk off dinger against us that year in Minnesota off Thornton? That was awesome. That ball is still going
  18. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Oct 19, 2013 -> 08:20 PM) Do you read the Facebook comments on the official sox page? Reading the common fans thoughts is hilarious. I'd say 90% want to bring back MB & AJ no matter what the price
  19. Am I the only one that needs to plug my ears when Dan Hayes speaks? The guy is a complete hack.
  20. Personally this year doesn't bother me nearly as much as a 75-80 win season would have. Nice to get a top 3 pick in the draft, get rid of some salary at the deadline and reboot for next year.
  21. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 15, 2013 -> 12:59 PM) Mullin saying on twitter that once Vikes touched it we could no longer make it live. In that case, it's a great play Mullin is right. How embarrassing the f***ing announcers don't even know the rule. Didn't you see the coaches giving Weems a high five on the way off the field? The rule is once the Vikes touch the ball but do NOT DOWN it, you can pick up the ball free of risk. Again, how embarrassing neither of these clown announcers didn't know the rule and they didn't even correct themselves. The fact that the coaches were high fiving Weems on his way off the field should've been a clue for these monkeys.
  22. Did Hawk just say "that's hit by Zobrist" when talking about the ball that went past Keppinger that was hit by Infante?
  23. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 11, 2013 -> 12:44 PM) Damn, Avisail has some sneaky great speed. Infield single on a routine groundball to the right of the 2B. It's beyond sneaky. The guy can motor.
  24. Alexei must be amongst the league leaders in infield hits...
