Yay another 1B...but you at least have to move on from Sheets when you already have Vaughn and Burger. Or you simply trade Vaughn with a change of scenery move in the offseason. . "Here's a tale of a guy who seemed to have a bright future ahead of him, BA .277, with 29 HR, in 2021, bats L, plays 1st base, who just got DFA. A reason not to sign long term deals. White Sox could maybe sign him to a minor league deal, for league minimum, after he clears waivers. He has been doing better recently in AAA, who knows, maybe he gets his mojo back and catches fire." https://halohangout.com/posts/angels-dfa-former-all-star-in-surprising-move-jared-walsh

You don't have to worry as much about extensions if you have proper MiLB depth like the Guardians Brewers Rays etc.

But he has a PHD...just shows how lost in the ivory tower and almost more deferential to Fitz than concerned about the aggrieved parties. "We had our best combined academic and team results combined ever and nobody wants to talk about that...the brand has taken a significant hit, etc." Can't get out of own way. It's like Ozzie Guillen is running their coordinated media response team while JR/university president hide and just hope it all goes away with football season getting underway.

Syndergaard won't start until Monday. Mini start tmrw on the side.

Meanwhile best Sox second round pitcher goes back to 1970 in Terry Forster.

He hears footsteps now lol...

Rob Deer was Incaviglia Reimer Palka Lonnie Smith bad in the outfield.

Burger holding his own so far...

Benintendi and Kwan pretty much same player minus $75 million...

They have to attempt to sell something to the fans in terms of changes.

Sox have just completely given up... How long until they call off the stolen base attempts? Just no fundamentals with Colas since he's always hunting the outfield assists ....

Since June Cease has the third best WHIP rate in the majors and an ERA of just over 3...

That would be injuries to Cease and/or Robert...or a Hahn extension.

Naylor almost hitting .500 in his career at GRF...crazy.

Here we go with the bunting/base running attack. The Guardians are now the 2001-2010 Piranhas.

Excuse making/PR Spin

Just wondering if someone was listening...apparently talked about timeline and previously unreleased details about contract extension talks.

Back to White Sox as manager lol?

https://www.audacy.com/670thescore/sports/chicago-white-sox/ozzie-guillen-thinks-white-sox-problem-is-lack-of-identity Ozzie..."They don't know who they are."

The Astros and White Sox couldn't be more opposites in terms of results/accountability. The great thing about our rebuild is that we didn't have to just all-out suck AND have no real assets to watch develop like the Astros did for awhile. We're pretty lucky.

What was Cameron's prospect ranking? Both those guys were high profile ... but especially Konerko and then Cameron was hyped as a five tool outfielder. Could Burger even get a Top 75-100 guy? As a potentially 30-35 home running hitting 2B?

Freddy Garcia signed a big extension and then Jose Contreras got it a decent sized contract as a reward for 2005-2006.

Visibly getting upset with Robert and Benintendi falling/slipping last night in the outfield and basically showing his teammates up was par for the course while sporting a 6+ ERA. Addition by subtraction. Same with Moncada Grandal and Anderson.

Lost Wheeler...nobody forced him to sign Keuchel. Or to overpay Lynn when he wasn't in the best shape physically and there would have been much better ways to allocate those dollars but Hahn just had to double own on the Dunning trade by signing another extension. Benintendi didn't come close to moving any type of needle and now they're tied to four more years of financial commitments when they could have gone with shorter term Conforto or Bellinger types instead.

Look at what happened to the Guardians getting cute and holding on to Bieber for too long...they now might have to try to trade Civale instead to dig up enough offense to get over the finish line.
